With so many years in the business, we’ve developed long-term relationships with many of southern California’s most enthusiastic wine collectors. From time to time, these clients will decide to liquidate all or part of their collections. That’s when we step in. With access to some of the deepest and broadest wine treasures in the area, we’re able to bring you pristinely-aged, rare gems and collectibles that are seldom available through other channels. Our thorough vetting process includes on-site inspection of storage conditions and, whenever possible, verification of original acquisition (in many cases, the wines were purchased from WHWC on their original release). Thanks to these acquisitions we regularly take stock of some of the most prominent and coveted wines in the world, at prices that are often unbeatable.

Petrus Pomerol 2010  (#325527)

Cabernet/Bordeaux Blends from Pomerol, Right Bank, Bordeaux, France

[ 100 points Robert Parker: The harvest at Petrus took place between September 27 and October 12, and the 2010 finished at 14.1% natural alcohol, which is slightly lower than the 2009's 14.5%. The 2010 reminds me somewhat of the pre-1975 vintages of Petrus, a monster-in-the-making, with loads of mulberry, coffee, licorice and black cherry notes with an overlay of enormous amounts of glycerin and depth. Stunningly rich, full-bodied and more tannic and classic than the 2009, this is an awesome Petrus, but probably needs to be forgotten for 8-10 years. It should last at least another 50 or more. Drink: 2021-2071. Ogier Cote-Rotie La Belle Helene Cote Rozier 2010  (#324201)

Syrah/Shiraz from Côte-Rôtie, Northern Rhône, Rhône, France

[ 100 points Robert Parker: The 2010 Cote Rotie La Belle Helene is perfection. In this vintage, Ogier cut back the barrel aging time from 32 months in largely new oak casks to 18 months. Ogier s remarkable flexibility depending on vintage conditions and the quality of the fruit is admirable. He thinks this may be the greatest bottle of wine he has ever made, and it s hard to disagree. An inky/purple color is followed by notes of pen ink, graphite, forest floor, licorice and abundant black and blue fruits. There is little evidence of new oak because of the extravagant richness and wealth of ripe fruit. The tannins, acidity, alcohol and wood are perfectly integrated into this exceptional wine. It will benefit from 5-6 years of cellaring and keep for 25-30+ years. (Dec 2012) ] 100 points Robert Parker: The 2010 Cote Rotie La Belle Helene is perfection.
