94 points James Suckling: "Very pretty, old-school style with sliced-lemon, apple and candied-lemon character. Creamy undertones. Full-bodied, tight and dense. Creamy yet tangy finish. Drink or hold. (2/14/20)"
93 points Decanter: "With a rich history, Mayacamas Vineyards is a pioneer on Mt Veeder, crafting a consistent signature style under Andy Erickson's guidance. The site where the fruit is grown is elevated above the fog line, and the vines average 40 years old. During the 2017 growing season this site experienced warm temperatures relative to surrounding areas. These conditions, plus extended elevage, have produced a memorable Chardonnay with notes of lemon custard and Buddha's hand citrus zest, complemented by a layer of nectarine blossom. Upon first sip, a refreshing and electric acidity instantly wakes the senses. Oak integration gives this wine stamina and a lengthy finish. Drinking Window: 2019-2030. (Jan 2019)"
90-93 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2017 Chardonnay has all of the structural underpinnings that are so typical of this wine, but with a bit more textural richness and softer curves than is the norm. Pliant and generous, the 2017 is shaping up to be quite promising. (Dec 2018)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "Vibrantly fresh, with well-proportioned flavors of McIntosh apple, Asian pear and dried quince, backed by fresh acidity. The minerally finish lingers with good snap. Drink now through 2024. 2,500 cases made. (6/30/19)"
Producer notes: "Aromas of ripe lemon honeysuckle and crushed oyster shell highlight the nose. On the palate, the wine has the classic Mayacamas acidity and is framed nicely by the textural richness in the mid-palate that comes from a warm vintage. Alcohol 14%."
