97 points James Suckling: "This is wonderfully crafted with aromas and flavors of ripe strawberries and raspberries, as well as cream, light chocolate and earth. Full body, creamy texture and a long, flavorful finish. Tangy acidity drives the vivid and lively finish. Hard not to drink now. Drink or hold. (2/14/20)"
96 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2017 Pinot Noir Ma Danseuse is laced with sweet dark cherry, plum, spice, leather, tobacco, menthol and lavender that add to the wine's strong, brooding personality. Ample and virile in feel, Ma Danseus shows the more potent side of the Sonoma Coast to great effect. The 2017 is presently quite tannic, but another few years in bottle should do the trick. Drink: 2022-2032. (May 2019)"
94-96 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "The medium ruby-purple colored barrel sample of 2017 Pinot Noir Ma Danseuse struts some seriously profound blackberry, black cherry and wild blueberries with hints of baking spices, violets, roses and tobacco. The palate is medium to full-bodied, firm and velvety, with a wonderfully lively backbone and very long, fruity finish. 1,435 cases are expected to be produced, to be released in July 2019. (Oct 2018)"
Producer notes: "This wine charms the eye with a red ruby color and bright crimson highlights. The nose is marked with notes of raspberry, Griotte cherry, strawberry, leather with a subtle note of violet and rose. Balanced and refined the 2017 Ma Danseuse has a wonderful concentration of delicate red fruits, red rose petal, cloves, vanilla, hazelnut and a mineral driven finish. The tannins are well integrated and the texture silky. The wine is approachable now, but will continue to develop for two decades. Barrel aged 16 months in French oak (50% new). Alcohol 14.8%."
