95 points Wine Spectator: "Bold aromas of blackberry and bacon fat lead to densely layered and vibrant huckleberry, river stone and licorice flavors that take on richness toward polished tannins. Drink now through 2026. 700 cases made. Highly Recommended. (5/31/19)"
94 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "Deep medium red. Musky aromas of dark cherry, mocha and olive tapenade. Wonderfully pliant, plush wine with good peppery lift and harmonious acidity framing the flavors of raspberry, mocha, brown spices, game and warm stones. There's a glyceral quality here for the vintage that suggests this site can really shine in late, slow-ripening growing seasons. Wonderfully plush, smooth wine with perfectly supported, horizontal tannins and lovely rising length. This is almost too good right now but has the structure and energy to age. Very sexy juice. 13.5% alcohol. Drink: 2019-2025. (Nov 2018)"
93 points and 'Editors' Choice,' Wine Enthusiast: "The aromas offer lively notes of freshly peeled orange, potpourri, black pepper, fresh flower, wet stone and smoked meat. It coats the palate from end to end, bringing a sense of freshness and subtlety, with a persistent, plum- and smoked meat-filled finish. It shows a lot of grace and depth, with a finish that will not quit. Alcohol 13.5%. (Sep 2019)"
