93-95 points Fine Wine Review: "The Gevrey-Combottes has both red and dark fruits with greater juiciness than the Morey 1er Cru, and it shows good depth and concentration. (4/26/19)"

91-95 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Fine rich red purple, with a sensational bouquet, raspberry then cherry fruit. There is something rather rougher textured on the palate, a question of barrel tannins which have not yet quite integrated perhaps. Fortunately the fruit returns behind. There are still some questions to be answered but if this wine heads in the expected direction, it will be superb. Tasted: November 2018."

94 points Tim Atkin, MW (Decanter): "Consistently one of my favourite Dujac wines, this hails from a 1.15ha parcel in a well-surrounded premier cru. The 85% whole bunches certainly have an influence on the aromas and flavours of the wine, but they aren't excessively sappy and spicy. Attractive and nuanced, this is a wonderfully refined Gevrey. Drinking Window: 2023-2029. (Nov 2018)"

92-94 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Combottes 1er Cru, which was slightly affected by hail, albeit affecting the canopy rather than the bunches, has an appealing, pure, quite airy bouquet of raspberry, bilberry and blackberry, just a touch of brine/seaweed emerging with time in the glass. The palate is nicely focused with sappy red fruit, well-judged acidity, and orange peel and hints of brown spice on the finish. While not as persistent as the 2016, this has good potential and seems to gain depth with aeration. Drink: 2023-2043. (Jan 2019)"

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Underlining the variations in the Dujac cellars a few weeks out from their racking, the 2017 Combottes was absolutely singing at the time of my visit! The bouquet is pure, refined and utterly charming, wafting from the glass in an elegant mix of red and black cherries, plums, raw cocoa, a complex base of soil, gamebird, a dollop of mustard seed and a suave base of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied, transparent and sappy at the core, with suave tannins, great focus and grip and a very long, vibrant and complex finish. Great juice. 2026-2065. (Nov/Dec 2018)"
