93-94 points PinotFile: "13.9% alc., 900 cases. 100% de-stemmed, aged sur lie in 33% new French oak barrels. Moderately light reddish-purple hue in the glass. Vibrant aromas of fresh cherries, baking spices and sandalwood. Juicy and crisp, like biting into an iced cherry. Subtle touches of spice, earth and oak add interest. Very forward and easy to cozy up to with a long, acid-driven, mineral-laced finish. This wine really shows off the terroir of this Green Valley vineyard and could be a poster child for that cool-climate appellation. Will age beautifully. (2/20/14)"

91 points and 'Cellar Selection,' Wine Enthusiast: "Right out of the bottle, this wine is tannic and closed. After a while in the glass, it starts to soften, showing mushroom, cola, pomegranate and raspberry flavors, but it’s still resistant. Give it until 2018, and it should gradually unfold for another few years afterward. 1,000 cases produced. Alcohol 13.9%. (Jun 2014)"

Producer notes: "As always, the fruit was destemmed into open-topped fermenters and punched down twice-a-day, before aging sur-lie in French oak barrels, 1/3 new. This incarnation of Keefer is rounder and richer than any prior vintage in Ehren’s hands: ripe fruit fragrance jumps out at you from the glass- cranberry etched with toasty cinnamon and grounded with earthy nutty notes of mushrooms and chestnut. Broad ripe tannins provide structure to the typical Keefer lushness. Will age well for 7-10 years. 900 cases produced."
