92-95 points Jasper Morris, MW: "Dense even purple, there is striking energy to this, perhaps a tiny blackcurrant reduction. Quite tense and tight with pretty ripe fruit on the palate which softens the mid palate, then the typical tannin structure of Clos Vougeot behind. Good length Tasted: November 2018."
94+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2017 Clos Vougeot from Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat is a superb wine in the making. The bouquet is deep, sappy and properly reserved in personality, offering up a fine blend of plums, red and black cherries, gamebird, dark chocolate, a beautifully complex base of soil, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and deep at the core, with fine soil signature, ripe tannins and a long, tangy and nascently complex finish. Charles van Canneyt makes one of the very top examples of Clos Vougeot and his 2017 is going to be an outstanding bottle in the fullness of time. 2028-2085. (Nov/Dec 2018)"
