94 points Wine Spectator: "Though densely textured, this red offers ripe black currant, black cherry and violet aromas and flavors. The tannins are ripe and the vibrant acidity keeps this defined on the long aftertaste. Best from 2023 through 2038. 196 cases imported. (1/23/19)" -BS

92-94 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "They 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Mes Cinq Terroirs was reduced by 30% production, with 30% whole bunch and 30% new oak. It has a well-defined blackberry and wild strawberry bouquet with subtle rose petal aromas. The palate is well balanced with supple red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit, just a subtle chalkiness to the texture toward the finish, but a very mineral-rich aftertaste in situ. This is a replica of the brilliant 2015. Drink: 2020-2035. (Dec 2017)"

89-93 points Fine Wine Review: "Mortet’s Gevrey, Cinq Terroirs is broader and shows more power than the regular Gevrey. There’s plenty of freshness to the dark fruit here. 30% new oak here. (4/1/18)"

92 points Neal Martin (Vinous): "The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Mes 5 Terroirs was glorious from barrel and that has clearly transferred into bottle. It has an extremely pure and delineated bouquet with red cherries, wild strawberry, subtle tertiary and mineral scents that evoke Premier Cru quality. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. This is very well balanced with a lightly spiced opening. Beautiful weight here and supremely well integrated oak, this is a class act, one that is not stupidly priced either. Tasted at the Domaine Direct Tasting in London. Drink: 2021-2033. (Oct 2019)"

90-92 points Stephen Tanzer (Vinous): "(30% vendange entier): Bright red-ruby. Very ripe black raspberry and chocolate aromas are lifted by a sexy floral perfume. Finer-grained and a bit more energetic than the négociant village Gevrey, displaying excellent delineation but also a velvety texture for 2016. I like the combination of medicinal reserve and ripe, integrated acidity here. The very long, slowly rising finish saturates the palate, leaving behind an almost port-like ripeness without any heaviness. (Jan 2018)"
