It has an extremely pure and delineated bouquet with red cherries, wild strawberry, subtle tertiary and mineral scents that evoke Premier Cru quality. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. This is very well balanced with a lightly spiced opening. Beautiful weight here and supremely well integrated oak, this is a class act, one that is not stupidly priced either. Finer-grained and a bit more energetic than the négociant village Gevrey, displaying excellent delineation but also a velvety texture for 2016. I like the combination of medicinal reserve and ripe, integrated acidity here. The very long, slowly rising finish saturates the palate, leaving behind an almost port-like ripeness without any heaviness. (Jan 2018)"
