The superb nose wafts from the glass in a mix of red and black cherries, cocoa, gamebirds, a lovely base of dark soil tones, woodsmoke and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure on the attack, with lovely depth at the core, suave, fine-grained tannins and a very long, beautifully-balanced and sappy finish. I love the combination here of sappy fruit and really pure soil signature. 2024-2060. (Mar/Apr 2016)"
