93 points Stephan Reinhardt (Wine Advocate: "The NV Brut Cuvée Prestige les Coteaux de Vallier is a highly complex and intense blend of 20% Pinot Noir and 80% barrel-fermented Chardonnay, which was kept on the lees for one year. The cuvée was aged for 14 years before it was disgorged with five grams per liter. Golden yellow in color, the wine opens with a nobly intense, matured, complex and elegant bouquet of almonds, nuts, iodine, ripe apples, super ripe and dried apricots, and tropical stone fruits along with some vegetal aromas, frankincense and flavors of a rain-wet street after a warm summer rain. Full-bodied, rich and intense on the palate, this is a highly elegant, harmonious, and stunningly pure and fresh champagne with citrus flavors in the long, mineral finish. The wine is hedonistic and intellectual in the same moment, and a great companion to crustaceans. Drink it over the next 5-10 years. Drink: 2015-2025. (Oct 2015)"

** Peter Liem (ChampagneGuide.net): "(base 1999) This is roughly 70 percent chardonnay and 30 percent pinot noir, all made in old barrels that date from before the Second World War. Its golden color echoes the rich, burnished flavors on the palate, feeling waxy and patinated in its dense notes of toasted bread, honeycomb, nut skins, baked apple and dried apricot. It has a great deal of personality, and with the exception of its low dosage (4 to 5 g/l), it feels like a relic from another age. Last tasted: 11/12."

Importer notes: "A blend of 20% Pinot Noir and 80% Chardonnay ; from a single 1er cru lieu-dit; the Chardonnay is aged for one year in small barrels and undergoes malolactic fermentation; aged eight (8) years on the lees, this cuvée receives a minimal dosage upon disgorgement."
