97 points and 'Top 100 Wine of 2018 (#37),' International Wine Report: "The Estates flagship wine 'Tenuta di Trinoro' Rosso is yet another fabulous showing in this excellent vintage. Growing conditions were ideal across Tuscany in 2015, as the warm season allowed for slow and steady ripening, with cooler conditions late in the season allowing for optimum harvest time. The final blend consists of 50% Cabernet Franc, 36% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot, which spent 8 months in new French oak barriques and 11 months in cement vats. This instantly impresses as the ripe characteristics of the vintage are certainly evident. The wine itself displays a dark, inky color followed seductive aromas of ripe dark cherries, blackberries, spices, fresh violets, graphite and hints of tobacco that all come together and soar from the glass. On the palate this full-bodied Rosso possesses a gorgeous opulent texture with beautifully polished tannins making for a wonderful mouthfeel. It displays remarkable depth and concentration, with the structure to hold everything in place as layers of ripe fruit continue to build up to the long, supple finish. Overall this is a majestic wine from Andrea Franchetti, and while it offers immediate appeal, there is little doubt this will go on to have a wonderful evolution ahead."

96 points Antonio Galloni (Vinous): "The 2015 Trinoro is soft, silky and nuanced. Although a very pretty and expressive wine, the 2015 doesn’t quite have the dimension or complexity of the very finest years. Admittedly, that is a very high bar. Today, the 2015 comes across as a bit understated and hushed, two adjectives I can't believe I am using to describe a Trinoro wine. Time in the glass finally allows the 2015 to start opening up. I would cellar the 2015 for at least a few years, as it is not close to being fully expressive. Drink: 2024-2036. (Feb 2019)"

96 points Wine Spectator: "Alluring aromas of ripe cherry, black currant, violet and spice are shaded by coffee and cedar notes in this polished, sophisticated red. Intense, yet harmonious and expressive, evoking licorice, smoke and graphite elements on the long aftertaste. Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. Best from 2020 through 2034. 35 cases imported.(12/13/17)"

95 points Monica Larner (Wine Advocate): "The gorgeous 2015 Tenuta di Trinoro pours into the glass with inky dark richness that is beautiful to behold. This wine is made primarily with Cabernet Franc but has some Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot mixed in as well. Although Andrea Franchetti had retreated from his trademark overripe style in recent years, you get a nostalgic glimpse of it here. The warm growing season has conspired to create a rich and textured red wine with aromas of blackberry preserves, cherry confit and subtle baking spice. This is a charming and exuberant creation that is open and loud even at this very young stage in its long and promising lifespan. Drink: 2019-2035." (Oct 2017)

Producer notes: "50% Cabernet Franc, 36% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot. 2015 is one of the great vintages of Tenuta di Trinoro. The hot weather came over our vineyards only during the first months: already at the beginning of August, the average temperatures fell very fast, and we had a cool, even cold, ripening period until November. Rains fell intermittently but were light, with happy drying periods. That cool, moderate weather let us go harvesting in each vineyard after the proper waiting time. We brought exceptional merlot from diverse vineyards to the winery. Then later we also found a long series of completely ripe cabernet francs. With cabernet franc dominating the mix, this is the typical composition of great years at Trinoro."
