90 points Mark Squires (Wine Advocate): "The 2015 Pombal do Vesúvio (Quinta do Vesúvio) is mostly 50% Touriga Nacional and 45% Touriga Franca with a dollop of Tinta Amarela, aged for ten months in French oak. It comes in at 13.5% alcohol. This is lighter in style but seems elegant and shows finesse with vivid flavor. It is also wonderfully fresh and lifted with a lingering, delicious finish. It will drink great young and age reasonably well, but I doubt it will truly reward much cellaring. Right now this is all about the gorgeous fruit. We'll see in time if it turns into anything more. Drink: 2017-2028. (Aug 2017)"
Producer notes: "60% Touriga Nacional, 35% Touriga Franca, 5% Tinta Amarela. Touriga Nacional is a full-bodied red wine from Portugal with aging potential like Cabernet Sauvignon. This underated grape variety is most common as a blending grape in Port wine and has only recently been championed as a dry red wine."
