94+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2012 Griotte-Chambertin from Laurent Ponsot is another one of the ringing successes in the cellars this year, as the wine offers up a dramatic bouquet of black cherries, plums, grilled meat, cocoa, dark soil tones, woodsmoke and a really lovely topnote that I can only describe as 'sweet herbs'. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very sappy at the core, with great focus and balance, impressive, nascent complexity, ripe, refined tannins and exceptional length and grip on the young and oh, so promising finish. This will be a legendary vintage for the Ponsot Griotte. 2025-2075. (Nov/Dec 2013)"

92-94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .90 ha parcel). Here too there is enough wood to notice though not enough to detract materially from the purity of the elegant and expressive red berry fruit liqueur, spice and earth suffused aromas. There is fine concentration to the mineral-driven, intense and well-delineated medium weight plus flavors that coat the palate with dry extract before culminating in an impeccably well-balanced and strikingly long finish. This is really lovely and should age well over the mid to long-term yet it should be approachable after only 5 to 7 years of bottle age. Drink: 2024+. (Jun 2014)"
