ArteNOM Seleccion de 1146 Añejo is produced by Casa Tequileña, which is owned and operated by Arquitecto Enrique Fonseca from Atotonilco, Jalisco. El Arquitecto is a fifth-generation agave cultivator and master distiller. Blended from 60% 2-year-aged in French oak and 40% 3-year-aged in French oak. The combination is then aged for another year in American white oak. Medium dark amber with nice clarity. 1146 has a nice solid body with a heavy viscosity. First impression of the nose is a slight banana fragrance and buttercream, accompanied by fresh cooked agave. The juice feels silky on the tongue. Ripe banana, agave, and oak with some nuttiness on the palate. with a spice finish. Some hints of bourbon, presumably from the Kentucky bourbon barrels used in the final aging.
