Banyuls is officially considered a Vin Doux Naturel -- essentially, a fortified wine from the Roussillon of southeast France near the Spanish border. This Grenache shows the typical characteristics of orange peel and the oxidized "rancio" aromas from the years of aging in barrel. Rich, spirity, sweet and concentrated in apricots, yellow raisins and candied orange peel.
