90.1 points

91 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "[$50 list] If marginally the fuller Pinot of the Twomey pair, this very well-measured, medium-full-bodied effort conveys much the same sense of fruity vitality and is never overly beholden to ripeness. Its sophisticated nose of fresh cherries, vanilla and gentle spice is echoed in kind and composition by its trim and long-lasting flavors, and, while hardly a wine of bluster and boldness, it gets high marks for richness and style. (Oct 2012)"

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$50 list] This is bone dry, with lots of zesty acidity and flavors of sour cherry candy, pomegranate and persimmon, with a mushroomy earthiness. It should change over the next four years, although not necessarily improving. Try pairing it with steak, lamb or a rich cut of ahi tuna. (Sep 2012)"

PinotFile: "[$50 list] 13.6% alc., pH 3.49, TA 0.65, 2,600 cases. Released April 28, 2012. Sourced from the sustainably farmed, estate West Pin Vineyard and sustainably farmed Crinella Vineyard. Aged 15 months sur lie in 50% new and 50% once used French oak barrels. Moderately light reddish-purple color in the glass. Nicely perfumed with aromas of fresh Bing cherries, blueberries, spice and floral notes. Delicious core of mouthwatering dark cherry and strawberry flavors with cinnamon and other baking spices, and supportive oak in the background. Very silky in the mouth. Vibrant in character due to uplifting acidity, producing a refreshingly bright finish that lasts and lasts. A beautiful, elegant wine of distinct character that is very food-friendly. Still needs time to reach its apogee and will benefit from decanting if you drink now. This wine will convert you to Pinotholicism. (6/25/12)"

Producer notes: "Our 2010 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir has a dark ruby-red hue and a nose of blueberries, blackberries, red currants, fresh rose petal, violets and a hint of spearmint. On the palate, it has a refined attack with a beautiful balance of fruit and floral influences, a silky mid-palate and a fruit-sweet finish that lingers for minutes. Barrel aged 15 months sur lies in French oak (50% new, 50% once-used). Alcohol 13.6%."
