From old vines (up to 70 years old) on south facing limestone hillsides along the banks of the Cher. This cuvée spends 8 months in oak cask to bring a rounder and more rich style of Sauvignon Blanc. Still maintaining good freshness and balance, this is a terrfic food wine.
Not yet reviewed; 2009 vintage rated 89 points by International Wine Cellar: "Pale straw-gold color. Ineffable perfume of musky grapefruit zest, tangerine, linden flower and brown spices. At once weighty and penetrating, with lovely bright acidity for the year. The finish offers sneaky length and intensity, with a solid stony backbone giving it a youthful reserve. I'd plan on enjoying this wine next summer."
