90 points Wine Spectator: "Ripe and bracing, with nectarine, peach and star fruit notes propelled by lively acidity and backed by ginger and heather accents on the finish. Drink now through 2018. (5/31/13)"
WHWC Staff Notes: "I picked this wine up recently for some gluggy, BYOB enjoyment with friends at a favorite Thai restaurant. When they canceled last minute, we decided to order in, and after opening this wine I was secretly pleased how it all worked out. If you ask wine folk about Huët Vouvray, you'll get a medley of positive reactions. After my first sip I knew I would be nursing this over a few days to see how it would develop: it didn't disappoint. This 100% Chenin Blanc, with its lime, ruby red grapefruit, allspice, and mineral flavors demands to be noticed. It is sourced from the 'Le Haut Lieu' site which is designated as a Première Côte (Vouvray's answer to Grand Cru). The soil is limestone-rich, which creates the classic stony frame that gives these wines such longevity and structure. A memorable wine, to be sure: one that tastes great now, but will improve with some cellaring. But remember, 2011 was famed Noël Pinguet's last vintage at Huët as winemaker, so if your curiosity is piqued, act quickly to secure your supply." -Serena Alvarez
