89 points Wine Spectator: "[$19 list] Ripe and distinctive for balancing its black pepper and red pepper flavors against ripe currant and blackberry fruit, mingling harmoniously on the refined finish. Drink now through 2018. (6/30/12)"
89 points Wine Advocate: "[$19 list] Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2010 Lodge Hill Shiraz gives notes of black cherries, blackberries and black plums over freshly cracked black pepper, dried Mediterranean herbs and lavender. Medium to full bodied and with very crisp acid, it fills the mouth with vibrant berry flavors textured with a medium level of fine grained tannins, finishing long and a little herbal. Drink it now to 2016+. (Feb 2012)" -Lisa Perrotti-Brown
89 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "[$20 list] Opaque ruby. Blackberry liqueur, dark chocolate and licorice on the nose. Densely packed but supple in texture, offering powerful black and blue fruit flavors and a hint of peppery spice. Smoke and bitter chocolate notes build on the finish, which is long and gently chewy. Give this youthful wine some air or a couple more years of bottle age. (Jul/Aug 2012)"
Producer notes: "[$19 list] Deep, dark red/black hues. Lifted aromas of mulberry, raspberry, coffee, kirsch. Mouth-filling flavors of bramble, chocolate, menthol, rosemary. Stuctural wine with delicate, sensual and ripe tannins. A wine that is ready for immediate enjoyment with a view to cellaring for 7 to 10 years from vintage."
