Producer notes: "This wine has a really nice history. Indeed, we are fortunate to have the oldest vines in France. It is unique in that it was planted in 1850, long before the arrival of phylloxera and the only one that has withstood the scourge. In 2006, cuttings from this old vineyard were used to make new vines which were planted ungrafted right next door in 2007. The first harvest took place in the 2010 harvest. What is amazing is that we can compare the wine produced from a vineyard of 160 years of age with that produced by the same vineyard, under the same conditions, but only 4 years old."
