91-92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The aux Vergelesses was one of the first to finish up its malo in 2010 and the wine was really singing at the time of my visit. The nose is deep, pure and classy, offering up scents of dark berries, coffee bean, woodsmoke, incipient notes of venison, a fine base of dark soil tones and a hint of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and quite structured, with a good core, ripe tannins and a long, tangy and nicely focused finish. Good stuff. 2018-2040. (Nov/Dec 2011)"

91 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from vines planted in '76). As with the Narbantons, 2010 will be the last vintage for this wine. A deft touch of wood sets off exceptionally ripe plum, cassis and black raspberry liqueur aromas. There is excellent detail and energy to the restrained and beautifully well-delineated flavors that possess an impeccably well-balanced if markedly firm finish that delivers fine length. This isn't quite as complex as the Narbantons but there is a more pronounced sense of minerality that is attractive in its own fashion. Comments: Sweet spot Outstanding. Drink: 2018+. (Apr 2012)"

89-91 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Good dark red. Pure but reticent nose hints at blackberry and bitter chocolate. Juicy but imploded, with primary flavors of black fruits and minerals. In a distinctly dry, even tough, style, finishing with strong, building tannins and excellent freshness. This will need several years of cellaring. (Jan/Feb 2012)"
