92-96 points Fine Wine Review: "In grand cru, the Echézeaux shows Echézeaux-stink in the nose. The mouth shows good weight to the red fruits with subtle spices and good length. This is a subtle wine that delivers in the mouth -- refined. Old vines here. (Issue #134; 2012)"

95 points and 'Top 100 Cellar Selections 2012 (#88),' Wine Enthusiast: "[$225 list] Very structured and firm, this has the weight, richness and power that is typical of Echézeaux. It’s the tension between the tannins and the ripe black fruits that give this wine its great aging ability and depth of flavor. It needs at least six years. (Nov 2012)"

92-94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from the sub-climat En Orveaux). Noticeable if deft wood notes frame the very spicy dark berry fruit and warm earth suffused nose. There is beautiful concentration to the velvet-textured and mouth coating medium-bodied flavors that are shaped by relatively fine but notably firm tannins, all wrapped in a moderately austere and strikingly long finish. This will also need plenty of cellar time to reach its full apogee. Drink: 2025+. (Jan 2012)"

93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "[$225 list] Good bright, deep red. Penetrating aromas of red cherry and rose petal. Superb cut and purity to the juicy flavors of red berries, cherry and minerals. Conveys a very strong impression of inner-mouth perfume and energy. Finishes with terrific building length and a firm spine of ripe acidity. Built for a slow and long evolution in bottle. (Mar/Apr 2013)"

18/20 points Neil Beckett (The World of Fine Wine): "Medium ruby. A lovely, intense, penetrating perfume, mingling clean earth, licorice, and rose. Medium-bodied, with great density of fruit and texture but a frank freshness to match the richness. Excellent Echézeaux. (Issue #35; 2012)"
