93 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$45 list] A complex nose shoots up aromas of dark berries, cassis, smoke, earth and toast. The fruit is generous and open; it tastes more like red berries than black. The acidity perfectly balances the fruit, and stretches out the flavors into a smooth, nicely detailed finish. (Sep 2011)"
91 points Wine Spectator: "[$45 list] Silky, refined and elegant, this is bursting with cherry, sage and cream flavors that linger on the polished finish. Drink now through 2016. (10/15/11)"
91 points Wine & Spirits: "[$45 list] Delicate in scent, its style more Right Bank than Left, this hints at salted plum and carob in the aroma. The fruit is more given to red plum and black cherry, the tannins relinquishing a savory, umami bite that suggests a pairing with roast beef. (Dec 2011)"
17/20 points Decanter: "Discreet black cherry nose. Plump and concentrated, has power without showing any jamminess; long spicy finish. Drink: 2012-2018. Alc: 14.3%. (Feb 2012)"
Producer notes: "Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Gramercy Cellars' 2008 Cabernet is a medium to full bodied wine driven by acid and earth. It's an Old World wine with its roots in the New World. The first smells are of French herbs - rosemary, thyme and sage. Earthy aromas of gravel, pencil lead, chocolate and mushroom round out the nose, complemented by fruits of red currant, raspberry and fig. We are blown away by the length and elegance of this wine. 1,048 cases produced."
