96 points Rhone Report: "The 2009 L'Aventure Cote-a-Cote Estate is a blend of 42% Grenache, 37% Syrah, and 25% Mourvedre that was aged in 50% new French oak. Just a beautifully put together wine, it shows captivating notes of wild berry like fruits, graphite, licorice, and meaty characteristics on the nose. This leads to a full-bodied, awesomely textured wine that has big structure and fruit, yet maintains an overall elegant, seamless profile with solid freshness, and a classically styled, incredibly long finish. The texture and balance are really something here. While I'd have no problem drinking bottles now, this should continue to evolve positively for 2-3 years, and drink well for 10-12. Beautifully stuff. (Dec 2011)"

95 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Cote a Cote emerges from the glass with dark black cherries, plums, cassis, spices and white flowers. Sweet, silky tannins frame the exceptionally long, polished finish. This is another superb, totally elegant wine from L’Aventure. The blend is 42% Grenache, 33% Syrah and 25% Mourvedre, with a total of 50% new French oak. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. (Aug 2011)"

95 points James Suckling: "A wonderful purity of dark fruits such as raspberries, blackberries and strawberries with a touch of minerals. Full and very racy with super refined tannins and a long finish. This is super classy. Wonderful texture. Better to try in 2013. 42% Grenache, 33% Syrah, 25% Mourvedre. (10/3/11)"

Producer notes: "42% Grenache, 33% Syrah, 25% Mourvedre. A dark ruby hue glistens in the glass. Rich notes of fresh plum, blueberry, and cherry are repeated and buoyed in the mouth by leather and rich, soft, elegant, polished tannins. Cocoa, acacia and the essence of garrigue (the scents of the herbaceous and woody plants particular to the French countryside in Provence) labor long through the spicy finish."
