92 points and 'Highly Recommended' Wine Spectator: "Very racy and powerful, displaying a pronounced ripe licorice aroma that leads to flavors of white cherry, smoke, fennel and glazed citrus. Winds up on the finish, with loads of slate and savory notes. Drink now through 2025. (11/30/10)"

90+ points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "Reflecting vintage ripeness in its nearly 60 grams of residual sugar despite 9% alcohol, the Haart 2009 Piesporter 2009 Piesporter Grafenberg Riesling Kabinett throws up a yeasty, faintly sulfurous veil, but not for long, opening to reveal pink grapefruit, cherry, pineapple, and mint that follow on an effusive, subtly creamy, yet persistently bright, delicate palate. This finishes with succulence, refreshment, and lift while harboring lip-licking, saliva-inducing salinity and the sort of vivid crushed stone smokiness that makes one imagine kissing the red slate terraces that the Haarts recently rebuilt here. I suspect that despite the young age of vines here this wine will age well for at least 15 years. (Dec 2010)"

90 points Fine Wine Review: "The Piesport Grafenberg Kabinett still has some of the stinky aromas from the spontaneous fermentation and time on the lees here, but that will shortly burn off. The wine is fairly sweet and lighter in weight than the previous wines with lovely apricot preserve flavors and some black currents. A fairly hefty 55 g/l residual sugar here. 9.0% stated alcohol. (Issue #131; 2011)"

Importer notes: "Selected from a very small 1 hectare site (~ 2.5 acres), the wine is very forward with succulent juiciness, typical for this site, but also characteristic of the showy 2009 vintage. With intense physiological ripeness for a Kabinett, strawberry, white peach and pineapple fruit flood the palate before razor sharp currents of lemon / lime citrus drive the finish. A stunning Kabinett for the money."
