90 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$35 list] The estate’s 2006 Etna Rosso Outis (Nessuno) bursts from the glass with a heady, exotic bouquet laced with juicy dark cherries, flowers, tar, earthiness, licorice and minerals. The 2006 is decidedly firmer and richer than the more accessible 2007, with plenty of muscle and drive in its fruit. Today the 2006 comes across as needing another year or two in bottle after which it should drink beautifully for at least several years. The Outis is Nerello Mascalese/Nerello Cappuccio. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2018. (Jun 2010)"
A beautiful red wine from Mount Etna in Sicily, made from a blend of the native Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grape varieties. Light-medium red Pinot-like color; aroma of red and black fruits, with balsamic hints; medium weight on the palate but very flavorful and long on the finish, excellent balance. This wine has far more weight and complexity than you'd expect from the relatively pale color. It shows an almost Burgundian combination of finesse and substance, leaving a wonderful lingering impression on the palate.
