John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2005 Hermannshöhle Auslese is another profound young bottle, with even more depth than the Brücke, and also a bit more obvious structural impediments to immediate drinkability. The stunning bouquet blazes away in blend of white cherries, lychee, pulverized stones and spring flowers. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, deep and intense, with a bit more obvious botrytis adding sizzle on the attack, and then the minerality taking over from the mid-palate back on this very, very long and profound finish. Would it dare to ultimately nose out the Brücke Auslese? Only time will tell. 2012-2040. 96+."
