Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A wild red berry fruit nose that is a bit fresher and more elegant than the Les Plantes is quite densely fruited which complements well the supple, generous and seductively textured flavors that possess solid depth and extract on the long and lightly mineral-infused finish. Very good if not truly special. Drink: 2015+. (Jan 2012)"

90 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(Amiot-Servelle is one of only two proprietors). This is quite ripe, indeed to the extent of having mocha and cassis aromas that manage to retain a reasonable sense of freshness. The suave, round and delicious middle weight flavors are quite textured as here too there is ample dry extract that renders the firm tannins almost invisible on the mouth coating yet slightly bitter finish where a hint of wood toast surfaces. In contrast to the villages Chambolle however, there appears to be enough extract present to allow the tannins to round out and thus my score offers the benefit of the doubt. Drink: 2016+. Allen Meadows (Burghound): "Here the nose is notably more elegant and refined with airy red and dark berry fruit aromas that are solidly complex, serious and pure and this seriousness also characterizes the mineral-infused flavors that possess truly love focus and length. This is on the lighter side but it is also very Chambolle in character as well as being a wine of finesse. Note that it should drink well early. Drink: 2012+. (Jan 2010)"

Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .45 ha parcel of 45+ year old vines aged in 50% new wood). A spicy and exceptionally ripe nose of mostly dark berry fruit stops just short of surmaturité also evidences a hint of cherry liqueur lurking in the background. The rich, classy and sophisticated flavors possess excellent delineation before culminating in a velvety and long if again mildly bitter finish where a note of mocha surfaces. This is clearly quite ripe... Drink: 2016+. (Jan 2012)"

Lovely. Drink: 2013+. (Jan 2009)"

92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "This has firmed considerably since I last saw it in cask and now that it is in bottle, the aromas are discreet, understated and stop just short of being austere. There is plenty of pinot extract to buffer the robust but ripe structure. A big, bold, intense wine yet I suspect the tannins will melt relatively early. Drink: 2010-17. (Jan 2003)"

90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Hazy red. High-pitched aromas of wild strawberry, spicecake and blood orange, with a suave floral nuance that gains strength with air. Sappy, penetrating red berry flavors stain the palate and show impressive energy and silky texture. This very pure wine finishes with nervy cut and lingering spiciness. (May/Jun 2011)"
PinotFile: "13.2% alc. Moderately light reddish-orange color in the glass. Faint aromas of red berries with a floral and minty oak overtone. Light in weight with flavors of red cherries and blood oranges, sporting mild slightly grainy tannins, bright acidity and some tartness on the finish. (5/16/11)"
Producer notes: "The wine's nose opens with spicy aromas of carnation, myrtle, and forest floor. The mouth is finely textured with concentrated flavors echoing the varied aromas with subtle hints of loamy soil and cola. These broad flavors are shaped by an intricate structure and an impressively long, linear finish."

93 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Vivid ruby. Powerful scents of red and dark berry preserves, spicecake and flowers, with complicating notes of minerals and cola. Lush and creamy but almost shockingly energetic, offering sweet raspberry and blackberry flavors and exotic star anise and rose pastille nuances. Shows a compelling blend of richness and vivacity and finishes with outstanding clarity, spiciness and length. (May/Jun 2011)"
Producer notes: "The wine exhibits exotically fragrant aromas of cherry liqueur, rose petal, and green tea, with subtle fresh mushroom scents as the wine opens. The velvety mouthfeel and intense midpalate flavors complement and highlight its nose. Juicy acids and subtle tannins rein in the sweetness of the fruit and add structure to the wine, lifting and lengthening the floral, spicy finish. It is delicious early, but best over the next 2-5 years."

The color is a healthy deep ruby/purple, and the nose offers up scents of roasted nuts, smoky oak, cassis, cedar, and leather. Medium to full-bodied, with lovely black fruit flavors wrapped gently in oak, this fleshy, supple, deliciously constituted wine is a treat to drink. (Dec 1992)"

91 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Light gold, with a hint of green. Citrus fruits, ginger, mint and minerals on the high-pitched nose. Intense and dry in the mouth, with serious power to its orchard fruit, spice and floral flavors. Finishes energetic and very persistent, with a strong jolt of minerality and excellent clarity. This baby will benefit from more bottle age, as the 2009 proved to me. (Oct/Nov 2011)"

88 points Fine Wine Review: "[$15 list] Lambrusco has rarely been of even slight interest to me, but this one is a whole ‘nother story. The DOC is Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro, the smallest of the Lambrusco DOCs, and Lancillotto appears to be a brand name that the producer, Barbolini, uses to distinguish this wine from other cuvées that it produces. The grapes, of the Lambrusco Grasprarossa variety, are from Barbolini’s own property a couple of miles southwest of Modena. A base wine is made and three or four times a year, some of it is drawn off and pressurized in tank to add sparkle and then bottled with a Champagne-like cork. The wine is purple-black in appearance. Completely dry and with some lightness on the palate, the wine smells and tastes of violets, blackberries and black cherries. There is some bitterness on the finish, from the sparkle perhaps. This is a great match with salumi and other cured meats and pasta with tomato-based sauce. 11.5% stated alcohol. (Issue #131/132; 2011)"
Sparkling red wine from Emiglia-Romagna. This is Lambrusco at its finest. Dry and goes great with food--from steak to pizza--or even on its own.

92+ points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve, from vines planted on volcanic soils, is gorgeous. Fresh, perfumed aromatics meld into expressive dark red fruit in this silky, layered Cabernet Sauvignon. High-toned floral, spiced notes add lift on the long, persistent finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (Dec 2011)"
Producer notes: "There is a purity and richness to this bottling I absolutely love. The deep red color is fantastic and is ever so inviting. This is the widest mélange of fruit and character in the profound Beau Vigne lineup. This wine lives up to its position of a Reserve. The nose begins as brooding of black fruit but shortly builds to include lively mountain terroir. What is 'mountain terroir?' It is the racy and complex array of red fruit that shows itself in higher elevations. In support of the fruit is warmth from barrel vanillin, espresso ice cream and biscotti center. The notes of confection on the nose are amazing. The palate drinks of youth with absolute potential. Driven by dried herbs, forest and tobacco notes, black berry and black stone fruit surface right through to the front of the palate. The balance of this wine sits high. In its youth, it is nervy and complex with a huge future ahead. The tannins of this mountain based cabernet could use a decade to yield. The day that time comes, there will be bliss. But for those who consume this wine at a young age, you will definitely not be disappointed. Cellared well, this wine should survive and drink well into its late teens or even twenties (+2028). 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. 260 cases produced." - Kirk Venge, winemaker

96 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(two-thirds from Chassagne and the remainder from Puligny). In contrast to the expressiveness of the Bienvenues and Criots, this is reserved to the point of being almost mute and only aggressive swirling coaxes reluctant aromas of white flowers, spice and a range of mostly yellow dried fruits. There is superb intensity to the mouth coating, powerful and weighty flavors that exhibit a taut muscularity on the opulent but focused and well-detailed finish. This is almost painfully intense and absolutely bone dry, which is unusual in the context of the vintage. A knockout! Comments: Don't miss! Drink: 2017+. (Feb 2011)"
94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "White plum, fresh apricot, hazelnut, honey and nutty oak on the nose, perked up by a whiff of pineapple. Sweet, deep and powerfully structured, with the wine's fresh fruit flavors currently held under wraps by surprising acidity. Not showing the personality of the Clos de la Mouchere, but this grand cru's sheer energy and very long, rising finish promise a slow and eventful evolution in bottle. (Sep/Oct 2011)"

In accordance with the superior freshness, there is a bit more energy as well with a solid acid spine shaping the delicious and extract-rich medium weight plus flavors that possess excellent density on the vibrant, mouth coating and strikingly long finish. In a word, terrific. Comments: Don't miss! Drink: 2017+. (Feb 2011)"

91 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Very closed nose hints at orange, pear and flowers. Lemony and brisk in the mouth, with saline and stone notes currently dominating. Bright acidity verges on tart. This has shut down since I tasted it last year and will need at least a few years of aging to express itself. Will it blossom in bottle? (Sep/Oct 2011)"

A discreet hint of post-bottling SO2 does not detract significantly from the otherwise reserved but attractively fresh and quite spicy aromas of both white and yellow orchard fruit that displays a top note of dried flowers. The concentrated, powerful, mouth coating and beautifully textured big-bodied flavors possess dry extract to burn, all wrapped in an explosive, linear and driving finish. Despite the muscle and punch of the flavors and finish, this is actually very, very undeveloped at this early junction and will need every bit of a decade, and perhaps a few years more, to really arrive at its full majority but it should be more than worth the wait. 90 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 1958 Borgogno Barolo Riserva showed dramatically better than my most recent bottle of the 1964 (which must have been an 'off' example, as I had previously quite liked the ‘64), as the wine retains very good balance and structural integrity at age fifty-two. The nose is deep, complex and quite tertiary at this stage in its evolution, as it wafts from the glass in a mélange of dried cherries, orange rind, forest floor, onion skin, gamebirds a lovely base of soil tones and a touch of curry in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and complex, with fine resolution to its structural elements, good depth at the core and fine length and grip on the fully mature finish. There is a certain noble rusticity here that is quite enjoyable. I should note that I tasted a bottle of this wine a couple of years ago that seemed to have been topped up at the winery with some younger juice prior to release, and which I did not rate at the time (despite it being very tasty), as it no longer seemed to really be an example of the 1958 vintage. But this was not the issue with this most recent bottle, which was lovely. 2010-2025. (Sep/Oct 2010)"
