87 points James Suckling: "Aromas of black currant and dark cherry. A medium-bodied Pinot with slightly rough tannins. The palate has some dark chocolate with a powdery finish. Drink now. Screw cap. (6/11/12)"
Producer notes: "This Pinot Noir has a brilliant deep, ruby red color with intense aromas of ripe plum, blackberry, and cherry, highlighted by spice and toasty oak. Fresh, rich ripe flavors of black cherry, cola and plum layered with a subtle touch of vanilla oak and raspberry. Aged in French oak for 10 months."

88 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Dark red. Musky, spice-accented aromas of redcurrant and cherry, with a note of cured meat in the background. A chewy, tangy midweight that offers tangy red fruit qualities and touch of bitter chocolate. Somewhat ungiving right now, finishing with good energy and tightly wound red fruit character. Give this some air or age. (Nov/Dec 2012)"

'Very Good,' PinotFile: "13.9% alc., 25% whole cluster. Moderately light reddish color in the glass. Aromas of confected black cherries, raspberries, forest floor, potpourri, and vanilla. Mid weight flavors of black raspberries, black cherries, currants and sandalwood with a hint of citrus on the finish. Smooth and easy to drink with pleasing acidity and fine grain tannins. Even better the next day from a previously opened and re-corked bottle. This is always a dependable wine that is easy on the wallet. You won’t find a better under $20 Pinot Noir anywhere in California. (6/25/12)"
87 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$23 list] There’s a lovely dryness and elegance of mouthfeel to this Pinot Noir that make it instantly appealing. True, it could be richer. But for the price and case availability, it’s a pretty polished wine. Shows tart, bitter cherry, cranberry and cola flavors, with a deft touch of smoky oak. (12/31/11)"
Producer notes: "The 2009 Pinot Noir has a fruit forward nose, along with elegant lavender, earth, and sarsaparilla. The velvety texture is complemented by a rich earthiness, while the berry and clove notes are balanced nicely with the toasty French oak. All these elements play synergistically on the palate with a vibrant acidity which contributes to its lively mouth feel. This wine is a lovely pair with grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, roast chicken, or decadent with rich triple cream cheeses such as Mt Tam or St. Andre Brie. Alcohol 13.9%."

PinotFile: "[$25 list] 13.5% alc., screw cap. Released October 2011. Sourced from seven estate vineyards and includes fruit from sustainably-grown vineyards in the Willamette Valley. 100% de-stemmed, extended cold soak, native yeast fermentation, light pressing just before dryness to ensure a softer, fruit-forward style. Aged for 11 months in 25% new French oak barrels. Bottled without fining and filtration, and aged in bottle for 5 months before release. Moderately light reddish-purple color in the glass. Pleasant and nuanced on the nose, displaying aromas of redder fruits including raspberries, rose petals, and subtle oak. Medium weight array of sweet red Pinot fruits with a riff of savory herbs. Mild tannins and silky in the mouth. A good introduction to Oregon Pinot Noir. The day I sampled this, it was 90ºF, and after reviewing the wine, I put some ice cubes in my glass. This blunted the aromatics but softened the tannins and brought out the fresh red raspberry and red cherry flavors. Good. (5/15/12)"
89 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "[$25 list] Bright red. Lively redcurrant and strawberry aromas show good clarity and become spicier with air. Sappy and light on its feet, offering nervy red fruit flavors and a touch of bitter herbs. Finishes spicy and brisk, leaving a peppery note behind. (Jul/Aug 2012)"
Producer notes: "This fragrant nose of black cherry, brown sugar brûlée and vanilla leads to a mouth of fresh red plums. The sweet middle leads to a silky, seamless finish that lingers with spice. This Pinot Noir is a blend from Ponzi’s Avellana, Abetina, Linda Vista, Madrona, Aurora, Buteo and Estate Vineyards, as well as, fruit from sustainably-grown vineyards located in the Dundee Hills, Yamhill-Carlton and Eola Hills AVAs. Barrel aged in French oak (25% new) for 11 months. Alcohol 13.5%."

88 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "($19 list; 13.3%; bottled under screwcap). An extremely subtle touch of reduction knocks down the expressiveness of the otherwise pretty and diverse red berry fruit that includes notes of raspberry and cherry. There is reasonably good volume to the round, supple and quite forward flavors that are fashioned in an easy-to-like style, all wrapped in a dusty, clean and agreeably dry finish of moderate depth and length. Drink: 2013+. (Oct 2011)"
87 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$19 list] Another new entry into the under-$20 Oregon Pinot ranks, this one from Wilson Daniels. Oregon law requires that wines with varietal labeling be 95% the named varietal; here there is 3% Syrah in the cuvée. Tart red berries, leaf and herb mingle in a graceful, though light bottle. A nice balance of fruit, herb, acid and tannin, with a pleasing spicy finish. (Mar 2011)"
Producer notes: "Our Pinot Noir is a fresh, pleasing wine that captures the character of the Willamette Valley in Oregon. The color is a light, translucent ruby hue characteristic of Pinot Noir. The bouquet reveals notes of raspberry, baked cherries, violets and orange zest with a hint of herbs. On the palate, look for notes of raspberry, cranberry and spice enveloped in a light, food-friendly acidity. This wine will continue to improve in bottle for the next two to three years. Made for RouteStock Cellars by our friends at Ponzi Vineyards. Pinot Noir 97%, Syrah 3%. Alcohol 13.55%."

88 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Deep red. Red berries, cherry and musky herbs on the nose. Supple and broad on the palate, offering gently sweet raspberry and cherry compote flavors and a hint of licorice. Open-knit and plush, with good finishing breadth and cling. This could stand up to full-flavored food. (Jul/Aug 2011)"
88 points Jay Miller (Wine Advocate): "[$25 list] The current collection begins with the 2009 Pinot Noir Willamette Valley. It is a forward wine displaying spicy dark fruit aromas and ample black cherry and black raspberry flavors. Drink this excellent value over the next 6 years. (Oct 2011)"
PinotFile: "13.5%. Moderate plum color in the glass. Aromas of black plums, prune juice and oak. Dark fruits are featured that have a ripe, cooked quality. Soft with supple tannins and a silky finish. (4/10/11)"
Producer notes: "Great natural acidity, balanced by powerful, complex and ageworthy fruit, is the hallmark of the vintage. The vineyard sources for the 2009 include 56% from our own Oracle Vineyard, 14% Abbey Ridge, 22% Coehlo Vineyard, and 8% La Cantera Vineyard. The wine has a broad flavor spectrum of Bing cherry, blueberry and sweet spice. Fruit aromas are complemented by notes of sweet clove spice and a hint of toasty vanilla oak. On the palate the wine is open and opulent, with loads of pure Pinot fruit, leading into a rich mid-palate and a balanced finish with a hint of well-integrated tannin. The wine was bottled without fining or filtration. Aging and a complete indigenous malo-lactic fermentation took place in 100% French oak, with 23% new and 30% one-year old barrels. 1666 cases & 14 cases of magnums produced."
