93 points Wine Spectator: "Combines ripe, firm, complex fruit with subtle hints of cedar and spice. Full-bodied, with ripe pear, melon, honeysuckle and mineral notes, ending with a rich, fleshy finish. Drink now through 2014. 377 cases made. (6/30/10)"
91 points California Grapevine: "Medium-light golden yellow; attractive, assertive, toasty, pear and apple cobbler aroma with hints of citrus and butterscotch; full body; forward, rich, toasty, baked apple flavors with notes of tropical fruit and overtones of sweet oak leaving a creamy mouthfeel; crisp acidity on the finish; lingering aftertaste. Very highly recommended. 14.7% alcohol; 377 cases; 100% barrel fermented; 100% malolactic fermentation. (Jun/Jul 2010)"

Producer notes: "This 2008 Russian River Chardonnay shows a lemon-gold color with medium intensity and bright clarity in appearance. The developing nose has medium plus intensity and shows ripe apple, pear, acacia blossom, lemon, toast, popcorn and vanilla. The palate is dry with medium plus acidity, body, flavor intensity and length, showing additional notes of citrus peel and butterscotch. The wine’s lively acidity and supple viscosity will lend itself to many seafood and poultry dishes, as well as aged Gouda cheeses. Alcohol 14.2%."
2007 vintage rated 94 points by Wine Enthusiast: "Brilliantly crisp and lushly creamy and honeyed, just a beautiful Chardonnay that offers decadence and sheer deliciousness. Massive in grilled pineapples, green apples, ripe nectarines and butterscotch, brightened with mouthwatering acidity. A joy to drink. An Editors' Choice."

93 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Pale, hazy gold. Pungent aromas of pear, grapefruit peel, saffron and smoky minerals. Juicy, intense and mineral-driven, with impressive extract to the flavors of lemongrass, orchard fruits and citrus pith. The wine's vibrant acidity adds delineation to a long, juicy, intensely stony finish. I really like this wine's interplay of richness and energy. (May/Jun 2010)"
PinotFile: "14.5% alc. pH 3.59, TA 0.60, 450 cases. A 6-acre site west of the town of Occidental planted in the late 1980s. The vineyard borders the well-known Coastlands Vineyard. Extremely cold site that is often harvested in November. Aged 15 months in 50% new French oak barrels. Unfined, unfiltered. Medium straw color in the glass. Striking minerality, even salinity on the nose. Citrus-driven flavor, crisp and clean with a slightly viscous mouth feel. Very good (+). (4/3/12)"

90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Light yellow. Pungent aromas of fresh melon and nectarine are complicated by a hint of spicy herbs. Sweet and creamy on entry, then dry and taut in the middle, with floral and spice nuances complementing the juicy honeydew and pit fruit flavors. The spiciness carries through on the long, sappy, subtly sweet finish. (May/Jun 2011)"

Producer notes: "A rich, buttery, barrel fermented Chardonnay with a sunny California profile. Citrus driven nose. Hints of matchstick, pineapple, banana and coconut. Soft and round entry. Oak is apparent, but not defining. Mid-palate goes on to reveal other layers of flavors -- vanilla, lemon meringue pie and again coconut. Finish is rich with viscosity that coats the mouth for minutes after your last sip."
Connoisseurs' Guide: "Here is a nicely managed Chardonnay that captures the typically sweet fruit and weighty richness of the Santa Lucia Highlands version, and it does so without being too much of a good thing. It is optimally ripened and decked out with plenty of sweet oak, yet it is measured and mannerly all the same, and its accessible style tags it as one for drinking soon. (May 2011)"

92 points and 'Editors' Choice,' Wine Enthusiast: "[$30 list] Strongly oaky at first sniff, this barrel-fermented reserve went through complete malolactic fermentation and a year and a half of barrel aging. The complexity comes out as it breathes open, a mélange of nuanced fruit including guava, peach, pineapple and green apple. Skin phenolics (from whole-cluster pressing) add some bite to the lengthy finish. 1,650 cases produced. (Aug 2011)"

Producer notes: "With two Carneros Vineyards and one in Yountville, we have the luxury of a lot of ingredients for our Chardonnay recipe: mineral and flint from the cooler sites; tropical fruit, pear and honey from the warmer site. Add lees stirring and malo-lactic fermentation as desired. Age in mild oak for a hint of vanilla and hazelnut."
Cooking Light: "[$25 list] Rich with creamy brown toffee aromas. (Aug 2010)"
