95 points Wine Spectator: "Amazingly complex, with a rich array of fig, apricot, butterscotch, crème brûlée and roasted marshmallow notes, sailing along and gaining on the finish, where the flavors are deep and persistent. Drink now through 2019 497 cases made. (5/1/13)"
94 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2011 Chardonnay Eastside Vineyard is rich, fat and explosive. Butter, smoke, spices, apricots, orange blossoms, almonds, hazelnuts, and nectarines all burst from the glass. This is a decidedly extroverted, plush Chardonnay with tons of Russian River character. It has a bit more oiliness and fat than the Ritchie, and is also just as beautiful. A wine of pure richness and glycerin, the vinous, textured Eastside Vineyard will drink well right out of the gate. Vintage 2011 is the first release of the Eastside Vineyard, which previously went into the Russian River bottling. Vineyard guru Ulises Valdez planted this site with Montrachet clones. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. (Apr 2013)"

96 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2010 Chardonnay Lauren Vineyard brings together all of the elements of the house style. Layers of fruit emerge effortlessly from this textured, totally beautiful Chardonnay. Despite its richness, there is more than enough underlying minerality to buffer the fruit. This is the most nuanced and detailed of the 2010 Chardonnays from Aubert. Dried apricots, flowers and mint are some of the many notes that linger on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020. (Feb 2012)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "Weaving together a tasty mix of smoky tangerine, nectarine, white peach and mineral flavors, this is pure, focused and persistent, elegant and detailed. Shows more toasty oak on the aftertaste. Drink now through 2019. 1,098 cases made. (7/31/12)"

95 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "Aubert’s 2011 Chardonnay Lauren Vineyard flows across the palate with hints of butter, marzipan, spices, nectarines and dried apricots. Rich, voluptuous and creamy, the 2011 is another of the more overt wines in this range. Still, there is more than enough underlying minerality to balance the fruit. The old Wente and Montrachet clones work well here, but the vines are only 12 years old, which suggests the best is still very much in the future. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2019. (Apr 2013)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "Ultrarich and intense, with waves of smoke, fig, apricot and tangerine flavors, firming and narrowing on the finish. Drink now through 2018. (5/1/13)"

96 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2011 Chardonnay Ritchie Vineyard is utterly magnificent. I especially like the way the 2011 is at once unbelievably rich, but not at all heavy. Yellow stone fruit, light floral honey, nectarine and almonds inform the rich, oily finish. The 100% new barrels are imperceptible. All the elements are beautifully in place in this harmonious, voluptuous Chardonnay. This is a great, great showing from Mark Aubert. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021. (Apr 2013)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "The pure, rich smoke, fig, apricot and crème brûlée flavors are deep and persistent in this white, which is slow to open but gains depth, focus, persistence and length, ending with light toasted marshmallow. Drink now through 2018. 1,363 cases made. (5/1/13)"

95 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2011 Chardonnay UV-SL Vineyard emerges from a site on the Sonoma Coast seven miles from the ocean, just above Occidental. Apricots, peaches, wild flowers, nectarine and smoke are some of the multiple nuances in the glass. The UV-SL is another of the richer, more textured wines in the lineup. At the same time, the 2011 is a wine of vivid nuance, transparency and crystalline purity. Here, too, the 100% new oak barrels are totally integrated. It is so rare to find so much detail in this creamy, big Chardonnay, but it’s all there. This is another utterly impeccable wine from Mark Aubert. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2018. (Apr 2013)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "Makes points of subtlety and finesse, with touches of creamy, smoky oak woven into a fabric of fresh-cut apple and pear, gaining richness and depth and ending with a long finish. Drink now through 2018. 488 cases made. (5/1/13)"

95+ points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "A striking wine in its aromatics alone, the 2010 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard is another of the highlights in the range. Totally live in the glass, the 2010 is beautifully nuanced throughout. Apricots, orange blossoms and honeysuckle are some of the many nuances that emerge in a Chardonnay that impresses for its oily, expansive feel. This is another drop-dead gorgeous wine from Kistler. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020. (Apr 2013)"
Producer notes: "Sourced since 1994. Located in the heart of Carneros, and planted in a primarily marine loam soil set, that becomes leaner as our block transits the hillside. Produces a wine of weight, without being heavy that is consistently supported by a strong acid profile and a steely like sulfide character."

95 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2010 Chardonnay Vine Hill Vineyard is another wine with superb aromatic presence. Silky and gracious on the palate, the 2010 stands out for its pure balance and harmony. Absolutely nothing is out of place. Sweet, beautifully articulated fruit, expressive aromas and a silky finish round out the impeccable Vine Hill Chardonnay. This is a wine of total finesse. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020. (Apr 2013)"
Producer notes: "Produced since 1991. The vineyard that surrounds the winery. 23 year old dry farmed Chardonnay grown in a deep, sandy subset of the Gold Ridge soil series that seemingly has no bottom. The vines mine the nutrient poor sands to produce a wine of unparalleled energy and verve. One of our perennial favorites due to its resounding natural acids and low pH which strike a perfect balance with the stone fruit body and notes of toasted hazelnut."

95 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "[$60 list] Born from grapes grown in one of the most acclaimed sites in Carneros and showing the fruity depth, the careful construction and the polish that only comes in outstanding years and from an accomplished hand, Ramey's Hyde bottling is a many-layered Chardonnay of great verve and vitality. Its neatly trim adjuncts of sweet oak never threaten to upstage the bright and slightly blossomy young fruit that runs its length, and subtle minerally accents lend a twist of real complexity. It, too, is a wine best left to aging, and there seems little question but that it will continue to grow for many years. (Jan 2013)"
93 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Bright gold. Intensely perfumed aromas of orange pith, pear and anise, with slow-building spiciness and a touch of salty minerality. Vibrant, finely etched citrus and orchard fruit flavors expand and deepen with air, picking up a sexy florality. The brisk finish features a strong jolt of melon and a touch of iodine. (May 2012)"
92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$60 list] The 2009 Chardonnay Hyde Vineyard is another of the wines that emphasizes textural depth and body. This is a relatively plush, rich Chardonnay endowed with considerable volume in its apricot and tangerine fruit. The aromas and flavors move towards the more tropical end of the spectrum, but without fully reaching that level of exoticness. Readers who appreciate a more full-bodied style of Chardonnay will love the Hyde. I especially like the way the wine turns delicate with time in the glass. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. (Feb 2012)"
91 points California Grapevine: "[$60 list] Medium-light golden yellow; attractive, intense, buttery, melon and ripe peach aroma with hints of honeysuckle and vanilla; medium-full body; rich, fleshy, citrus and spiced apple flavors with bright acidity; lingering aftertaste. This wine shows a slightly softer mouthfeel than the other Ramey Chardonnays reported on here. Very highly recommended. 14.5% alcohol; 2,690 cases; 100% Chardonnay; 100% barrel fermented; 100% malolactic fermentation; released Spring 2012. (Jan 2013)"
Producer notes: "Located in gently rolling terrain north of Carneros Highway, the soils are quite heavy clay. Vine selection is old Wente, Robert Young and Long Vineyards -- each a Wente selection themselves -- ranging in age from 11 to 30 years old. The Wente is marked by very small grape clusters, with small berries, and the so-called 'hen-and-chick' -- large and small berries within the same cluster. The Wente produces a classic, Burgundian-style wine without the tropical fruit tones of some California Chardonnays. The Long Vineyards selection adds a floral note, and the Hyde Vineyard wines often seem charming and feminine. High natural acidity plays a prominent role."

95 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "Rochioli’s 2011 Chardonnay River Block is impressive. Subtle and understated in this vintage, the 2011 is classy from start to finish. Bright citrus and white orchard fruit lead to sweet floral notes in this delineated, energetic Chardonnay. Although the 2011 is a bit laid back relative to recent vintages, there is a lot to like. This is a gorgeous wine from Tom Rochioli. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021. (Apr 2013)"
92 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Bright gold. Sexy, highly perfumed aromas of pear, melon, nectarine and orange zest, complicated by subtle notes of iodine, anise and chalk. Deep, penetrating citrus and pit fruit flavors are underscored by chalky minerality, which adds lift and cut. A floral quality comes up with air and carries through the spicy, very persistent finish. (May/Jun 2013)"

95 points The Tasting Panel: "With no malolactic fermentation and a 14 month on-the-lees program, this heady white exhibits body weight, edgy minerality and animal muskiness from wild yeast fermentation. It's only after it opens up--and it does--that the honeyed white flowers and melon emerges...but not before almond and spiced chamomile adds more to the party. (Jul 2012)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "Fresh and lively, offering mouthwatering tangerine, peach and nectarine flavors that are fine and delicate, with floral citrus and honeysuckle scents. Drink now through 2019. (11/15/12)"
93 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "Running close to winery style, the new Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay is an impressively stuffed wine that makes no apologies for richness or ripeness. It is, however, never too much of a good thing, and for all of its generous fruit and ample oak, it stays in balance from beginning to end and steers clear of any evident heat. It is fleshy in feel and just round enough at the edges to invite early drinking, but it has the kind of structure and stamina that make a very good case for a few more years of patience. (Oct 2012)"
93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Another terrific offering from Shafer, this is a wine that seems to do well regardless of the vintage. It always shows a firm minerality and slight herbaceousness, with tropical fruit flavors and a smoky coating of fine oak. It’s a shade less opulent than the 2009, making this very elegant and refined, yet still rich and complex. Don’t drink it too cold--airing brings out subtle nuances. (Oct 2012)"
93 points California Grapevine: "Medium-light golden yellow color; very attractive, intense, nutty, stone fruit and baked apple aroma with a hint of honeysuckle; medium-full to full body; rich, textured, melon and baked apple flavors with bright acidity and undertones of creamy oak; lingering aftertaste. Should continue to develop with several more years of bottle aging, though very enjoyable to drink now. Very highly recommended. 14.9% alcohol... 100% barrel fermented; 0% malolactic fermentation released March 2012. (Aug 2012)"
92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "Shafer’s 2010 Chardonnay Red Shoulder Ranch offers up lemon, white flowers, spices and crushed rocks. The cold, late vintage yielded a wine loaded with intensity, focus and verve. As has been the case in recent years, the Chardonnay is aged 75% in oak and 25% in steel. This is a fabulous showing from Shafer. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2015. (Dec 2012)"
Producer notes: "The 2010 offers lush, luxurious aromas and flavors of melon, honeysuckle, apricot, pineapple and flint all held together with bright acidity, good structure and elegant balance. Whole-cluster pressed and fermented with wild yeast in individual barrels; 0% malolactic fermentation. 14 months in 75% new French oak barrels (Allier, Vosage) and 25% in stainless steel barrels. Alcohol 14.9%."
