95 points Jay Miller (Wine Advocate): "The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon (100%) spent 33 months in 80% new French oak. It is a layered, plush, mouth-filling Cabernet that already displays complexity. Give it 3-4 years to fully blossom and drink it through 2026. (Aug 2011)"
93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(includes 6% cabernet franc, 5% malbec and 2% each merlot and petit verdot) Good full, bright red. Deep aromas of plum, redcurrant, cinnamon and spice, complemented by a loamy earthy component. Sweet, suave and lush in the mouth, with an almost marzipan-like sweetness. But strong underlying structure gives the wine energy and lift. Finishes long, scented and bright, with noble tannins. Indian summer conditions in 2006 brought lower acid levels and a long harvest, noted proprietor Michael Corliss. (Nov/Dec 2010)"
Producer notes: "The 2006 Cabernet shows dark plum and blackberry fruits on the nose with underlying aromas of dried leaf, mocha, menthol and graphite. Rich and dense in the mouth with flavors of blackberry, licorice and Christmas spices being supported by a firm minerality. Fine, ripe tannins lead way to a long, drawn out and lingering finish. Barrel aged in 100% French oak (80% new) for 33 months. Alcohol 15.1%. 624 cases produced."

94 points Jay Miller (Wine Advocate): "The 2006 Red is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot aged in 73% new oak for 33 months. This loaded effort delivers a sexy concoction of toasty oak, exotic spices, and assorted black fruits that titillates the nose. Deftly combining power and elegance, it should see its 20th birthday in peak form. (Aug 2011)"
92 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(a blend of 30% merlot, 26% cabernet franc, 20% cabernet sauvignon, 14% malbec and 10% petit verdot) Full, bright red. Rich, warm aromas of plum, cherry, redcurrant, tobacco, cocoa powder and minerals. Plump, broad, rich and aromatic in the mouth; really spreads out to coat the palate. At once pliant and focused, with impressive fruit intensity. Finishes broad and very long, with a fine dusting of tannins. (Nov/Dec 2010)"
Producer notes: "Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot. The 2006 displays a complex nose bright cherry and redcurrant fruits, with deeper layers of sage, bay leaf and fragrant spice. An instant explosion of thick, fleshy tannins provide excellent weight and density to the mid-palate and carry on to a lush and lingering finish. Barrel aged in 100% French oak (73% new) for 33 months. Alcohol 14.9%. 679 cases produced."

99 points Jay Miller (Wine Advocate): "The flagship 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon comes predominantly from the famous Champoux Vineyard in which the winery is a partner. It was aged in 100% new oak. It sports a deep purple-color with a captivating nose of spice box, sandalwood, truffle, Asian spices, incense, black cherry, and black currant. Opulent on the palate (but elegant as well), it already reveals serious complexity, density, and succulence of fruit. Enjoyable now but with at least 8-10 years of cellaring potential, this marvelous effort should have a 30 year lifespan. (Oct 2009)"
98 points Wine Enthusiast: "The 2006 flagship Cabernet from Quilceda Creek is a massive wine that has just begun to emerge from its slumber. When first released the wine seemed to have entered a dumb phase, but six months later it responds to decanting and shows its muscle. Fruit flavors of black, brandied cherries, cassis and bourbon-soaked plums are wrapped in generous, layered oak. The wine is dusty, smoky, laced with streaks of licorice and brightened with sharp acids. It continues to expand further in the glass, adding flesh and spice to its frame, with a cedar/cigar box finish. Cellar Selection. (Mar 2010)"
94 points Wine Spectator: "Very ripe and generous. Not a big wine, but brims with plum, currant, black olive, cedar and roasted meat flavors, all playing against crisp tannins and lingering on the tight finish. Needs time in the cellar in order to open and flourish. Best from 2012 through 2020. (5/13/09)"
