90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Beautifully balanced, this offers the perfect expression of Washington State brightness and a Bordeaux-like herbal component. The tannins are fine and drying, and the wine is polished, with plenty of astringent, herbal flavors in the finish. Don’t look for big fruit here, but for a Euro style, this is a sure bet. (Feb 2011)"
Producer notes: "76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 5% Syrah, 3% Cabernet Franc. Vineyards: 45% Seven Hills, 41% Pepper Bridge, 8% Les Collines, 6% Goff. Integrated aromas of dark fruits and mint layer beautifully with notes of gravel and cedar. Full and generous flavors of black cherries and plums complement hints of mineral and cocoa powder. Gentle tannins support a supple, powerful mouthfeel. 14.1% alcohol."

90 points Robert Parker: "[$55 list] The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is a European take on Napa fruit with lots of terroir, earth, spice, black cherry, black currant, cedar, licorice and foresty notes. Medium-bodied and elegant with sweet tannins and excellent fruit, it should drink nicely for up to a decade. As evidenced by these two impressive offerings, Piero Antinori’s project on Atlas Peak is paying big dividends in terms of quality. Consultant Renzo Cotarella is the advising winemaker. (Dec 2010)" 1,800 cases produced.

92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$55 list] The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon comes across as a bit more reticent and inward next to the superb 2008, but it, too, is a gorgeous wine. Dark red fruit, licorice, smoke and tar are some of the nuances that flow from this layered, gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2009 was bottled just two months ago. It will almost certainly be even better in a few years’ time. A mid-weight, gracious wine, the 2009 should drink well to age 20 or so. In 2009 the blend includes 1.5% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029. (Dec 2011)"
90 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Bright red-ruby. Tight nose hints at cassis and licorice. Intensely flavored and high-pitched, with strong acidity and floral lift to the youthfully medicinal flavors. Densely packed, energetic wine but clenched today. Finishes with firm tannins and a lightly herbal quality. Antica is short for Antinori California. (May 2012)"
90 points Wine & Spirits: "[$55 list] This wine’s Atlas Peak tannins are softer and gentler than you might expect, its structure benefiting from the acidity of the fruit. That comes across in green herb scents refreshing the plush, ripe plum flavors. It’s generous and open, easy to enjoy with roast lamb. (Oct 2012)"

93+ points Robert Parker: "Alcohol: 14.6%; 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2006 was made from 32% Bancroft Ranch, 24% Steinhauer Ranch, 19% St. Helena Home Vineyard, with smaller amounts from Rancho del Oso, Chabot Vineyard, Marston Ranch and Lampyridae. A big heat wave in July was the salient weather factor in this vintage. The harvest began early and continued for five weeks. Abundant smoke, chocolate, espresso roast, cassis and mocha characteristics are found in this full-bodied, powerful, layered Cabernet. Although not quite as seamless as the nearly perfect 2005 Private Reserve, it is a big, dense beauty from a somewhat forgotten Napa Valley vintage. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring and drink it over the following two decades or more. (Jun 2011)"
93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "($119/750ml list; 60% from Howell Mountain fruit) Full ruby-red. Cassis and bitter chocolate on the nose, plus a dusty note that quickly blew off. Sweet, creamy and lush, with the classic black fruit, mineral and chocolate notes for which this wine is prized. At once structured and gentle thanks to its mid-palate stuffing. Finishes with big, broad, horizontal tannins that reach the front teeth. Almost deceptively sweet today, but I'd lay it down for at least a few years, as this bottling has a long track record for rewarding cellaring. (May/Jun 2009)"

92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature is a dark, mysterious beauty endowed with considerable depth and richness. Mocha, chocolate, spices and plums fuse together gracefully as this soft, supple wine takes shape in the glass. I very much like the immediacy of the 2010. Only a little bit of persistence is missing on the finish, but not enough to materially detract from what is a gorgeous bottle of wine. For Napa Valley standards, this is about as good as it gets for the money. The blend is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 7% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. (Dec 2012)"
91 points California Grapevine: "Medium-dark to dark purplish ruby; attractive, spicy, cedary, cassis and blackberry fruit aroma; full body; forward, rich, fleshy, currant and dark berry fruit flavors that tighten a bit on the finish; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Needs a few more years of bottle aging. Very highly recommended. 14.5% alcohol; 730 cases; blended with 14% Merlot, 6% Malbec, and 4% Petit Verdot; released October 2012. (Mar 2013)"
Producer notes: "This wine offers all of the color, concentration and complexity of a classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Pritchard Hill. The nose displays, rich, vivid layers of dark berry, cherry, and sweet oak, underscored by background notes of bay leaf, sage, chocolate and anise. The mouthfeel is powerful, yet rounded, with a silky presence that allows the wine to gracefully support its size, and its voluptuous ripe cherry, berry and plum flavors. Spicy oak notes of cinnamon, vanilla and roasted coffee add nuance and depth, while youthful tannins give a fine grip to the palate providing the structure for long-term aging. Cabernet Sauvignon 76%, Merlot 14%, Malbec 6%, Petit Verdot 4%. Alcohol 14.9%."

93 points and 'Highly Recommended,' Wine Spectator: "[$45 list] Chewy with tannin, but bursting with fresh currant and plum, sneaking in hints of mint and black tea as the finish lingers. A graceful wine that has miles to go. Best from 2013 through 2018. (5/31/12)"
Producer notes: "86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot. Crafted in a classic Bordeaux style and sourced from low-yielding vineyards within the best appellations of the Columbia Valley. This wine delivers an enticing bouquet of spice, anise and rose petals. On the palate a perfect balance of cherry, berry and coco flavors lead to a powerful and complex finish."

90 pointsConnoisseurs' Guide: "[$55 list] Decidely varietal from the first in its aromas of currant, black cherry with a hint of red cherry, green olives and rich soil notes, this very likeable wine is medium-full to full in body and supple in feel with a solidifying streak of supportive tannins for grip and longevity. Continuous in flavor right to the end, this is a very well-made, entirely reliable wine for today and tomorrow, and we expect that it will mature gracefully for a decade or more. (Apr 2013)"
Producer notes: "Dense and inky, the core is a beautiful, rich ruby color. The aromas lift out of the glass with blackberry, black cherry, ripe raspberry and tea leaf. The entry is impressive with a fleshy mouthfeel and notes of cassis, dark chocolate and ripe berries. The layers continue to unfold throughout a long finish. The 2010 is ready to drink upon release, and will develop and age gracefully over five to seven years. 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc. Needs a few more years of bottle aging. Very highly recommended. 14.5% alcohol; blended with 3% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot; released Winter 2012. (Mar 2012)"
90 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$50 list] Juicy red berries, crushed flowers, cloves and a hint of French oak all come together nicely in the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon. A gracious, mid-weight wine, the 2009 should drink well pretty much upon release. Sweet floral notes reappear to frame the feminine, expressive finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. (Dec 2012)"
90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Youthful purple color. Spice-accented aromas of cherry, cassis and pipe tobacco, with suave vanilla and Indian spice nuances adding complexity. Offers an array of dark fruit flavors brightened by a sexy floral note and gentle acidity. Smooth and smoky on the persistent finish. (May 2012)"
Producer notes: "Rich dark garnet in color, the 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon opens with savory notes of leather, spice and cedar that play nicely with the aromas of black cherries simmered in brown sugar. The palate is lavish and vibrant, exploding with ripe red fruit, hibiscus flower and mocha, and backed by a subtle minerality. This young wine impresses with its effortless elegance and complexity showing excellent mid palate structure and depth."

92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "A powerful, direct wine, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon hits the palate with a blast of dark cherries, plums, violets and spice box. The tannins remain quite firm, so another few years of cellaring is probably a good idea. I very much like the sense of energy and direction, especially on the finish. The 2009 is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc, from parcels in Stage Coach, Potelle, Veeder Peak, Bosche and Sycamore. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (Dec 2012)"
Producer notes: "[$44 list] 75.1% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13.1% Merlot, 7.1% Petit Verdot, 2.9% Malbec, 1.8% Cabernet Franc. This Cabernet is opaque with a dark ruby-garnet color, complimentary to the rich dark aroma and flavor. The aromas of black currant, black cherry, berry and Santa Rosa plum are intertwined with the spicy sweetness of oak, cedar, cinnamon, clove and toast. The entry is soft, with dark cherry/berry flavors that develop from start to finish. With great texture and mouth feel, this Cabernet is full bodied, rich and opulent. Barrels: 38% new French oak, 54% old French oak, 3.3% new American oak, 4.7% in old American oak."

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$45 list] A complex nose shoots up aromas of dark berries, cassis, smoke, earth and toast. The fruit is generous and open; it tastes more like red berries than black. The acidity perfectly balances the fruit, and stretches out the flavors into a smooth, nicely detailed finish. (Sep 2011)"
91 points Wine Spectator: "[$45 list] Silky, refined and elegant, this is bursting with cherry, sage and cream flavors that linger on the polished finish. Drink now through 2016. (10/15/11)"
91 points Wine & Spirits: "[$45 list] Delicate in scent, its style more Right Bank than Left, this hints at salted plum and carob in the aroma. The fruit is more given to red plum and black cherry, the tannins relinquishing a savory, umami bite that suggests a pairing with roast beef. (Dec 2011)"
17/20 points Decanter: "Discreet black cherry nose. Plump and concentrated, has power without showing any jamminess; long spicy finish. Drink: 2012-2018. Alc: 14.3%. (Feb 2012)"
Producer notes: "Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Gramercy Cellars' 2008 Cabernet is a medium to full bodied wine driven by acid and earth. It's an Old World wine with its roots in the New World. The first smells are of French herbs - rosemary, thyme and sage. Earthy aromas of gravel, pencil lead, chocolate and mushroom round out the nose, complemented by fruits of red currant, raspberry and fig. We are blown away by the length and elegance of this wine. 1,048 cases produced."

92 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$50 list] This is a serious and substantial Cabernet, using grapes sourced primarily from the Phinney Hill Vineyard in the Horse Heaven Hills. Muscular and loaded with purple fruits and cassis, it is thickly woven into a bed of earth and herb. The wine is graceful and balanced, with exceptional depth and detail; however, it leans heavily on the herbal side of the grape. (12/31/12)"
92 points Wine & Spirits: "From a variety of vineyards, including Phinney Hill, Porteus, Harrington’s estate vineyard and Octave, on the Sevein hill, this is a cool wine in a warm vintage. Hints of black pepper, menthol and crushed violets build on the dark, concentrated core of black fruit. It has plenty of youthful drive and energy, with a compact structure that should loosen with some cellar time. (Apr 2012)"
91 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "($50 list; includes 12% cabernet franc and 3% petit verdot): Deep red. Pungent aromas of dark fruits and licorice pastille. Dense and sweet on the palate, with an almost exotic character to the currant and sexy oak spice flavors. Finishes with a fine dusting of tannins and very good structure and grip. Not yet showing great complexity but this is built to reward aging. (Nov/Dec 2012)"
90 points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "Featuring 14% Cabernet Franc with 9% Merlot, and sourced from a wide range of vineyards including the Gramercy estate, their 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon appellated for the Columbia Valley will be succeeded in 2010 and subsequent vintage by separate Columbia Valley and Walla Walla Valley bottlings. A substantial portion this time around comes from Phinny Hill (next to Champoux, and for more about which see my account of Buty wines in this report), and since proprietor Dick Beightol has planted five acres of Cabernet Sauvignon just for Gramercy, perhaps there might also be a single-vineyard bottling in the latter’s future. Having sojourned in around 40% new oak makes this an exception among Gramercy wines, but that wood is subtly integrated. The nose here is strongly of arbor vitae, dark tobacco, cedar, cassis, and dark cherry, all of which follow on a palate characterized by sweet, juicy fruit underlain with firm but fine tannins. There is a rather somber, woodsy low-tone as well as a bite of juniper berry to the wine’s sustained finish. I suspect this will merit attention for at least the better part of a decade. (Dec 2012)"
90 points Wine Spectator: "[$50 list] Smooth, polished and vibrant, this lighter style brims with pretty raspberry and cranberry fruit, nicely wrapped with hints of chocolate and toast as the finish lingers against fine tannins. Best from 2014 through 2019. 540 cases made. (12/15/12)"
San Francisco Chronicle: "($50 list, 14.2% alcohol): Bottles like this are a reminder as to how important master sommelier Greg Harrington has become in the Washington wine community. Tapping fruit predominantly from the Phinny Hill site in the western Horse Heaven Hills, he devised a blend (with some Franc and Merlot) that absolutely brims with a gravelly mineral presence, plus coriander seed and seasoned tobacco aspects that bring a classic definition to fresh, brambly fruit. A pitch-perfect example of Washington's abilities. (8/31/12)"
Producer notes: "77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, 9% Merlot. The nose of this wine is herbs, cassis, black cherry, tobacco and cedar. In 2009, we upped the new oak percentage to about 40%. We found it rounds the tannins, takes the edge off the wine. To me this wine is quintessential Washington. Medium bodied, perfect mid palate, gravel dominate. 540 cases produced. Alcohol 14.2%."

90 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "Briary, woodsy and dusty spice overlays add extra interest to the medium-depth black cherry and cola notes that lie at the heart of this attractive young Cabernet. It is fairly full in body and is made bouyant by the balancing acidity that is so much a part of the winery's style, and there is no surprise in the tightened backend to the wine's personality. As with so many offerings from Grgich Hills, this one seems a sure bet to improve, and we would counsel a minimum of four to seven years of bottle age. (Apr 2012)"
90 points Wine Enthusiast: "This wine presents an old-fashioned style, marked by hard, numbing tannins that frame ripe flavors of blackberries, licorice, cherries, mocha and black currants. Hard to tell where it’s going beyond the next six years, but give it a proper decanting and drink with roasted or grilled meats. Alcohol 14.5%. (Jun 2012)"
Producer notes: "[$75 list] Elegant and full bodied, the wine’s complex aromas of black berries, black licorice and a hint of cocoa powder are the perfect partner with grilled steak, roasted rack of lamb or venison stew."

Very highly recommended. 13.9% alcohol; blended with 18% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot; released May 2012. (Aug 2012)"
Producer notes: "77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Two significant frosts in spring of 2008 affected grapevine growth, lowering grape cluster yields as much as 20% per vine. A wine that captures the heart of Jordan's style--balance, elegance and full expression of fruit--Jordan 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon has a smooth, silky structure that showcases the delicacy of the vintage. Elegant aromas of cherries and plums open to a soft, silky mouthfeel boasting a spectrum of red and black fruit flavors with a hint of spicy oak. Enjoy now or cellar through 2020. 93 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$52 list] Keenan’s 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the highlights in this portfolio. Rich and voluptuous, it totally saturates the palate from start to finish. Dark fruit, violets, spices and licorice all flesh out in this large-scaled, dramatic Cabernet Sauvignon. Everything simply works. The 2009 is a great wine. Even better, it is extremely fairly priced considering the quality of what is in the bottle. Readers will have a hard time keeping their hands off this jewel of a wine. I imagine another few years of bottle age will only help the 2009 develop even more complexity. In this vintage the Cabernet Sauvignon is 73% from Spring Mountain and 27% from Pope Valley. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (Dec 2012)"

Producer notes: "Think dense. Think powerful, rich, intense and ripe- masses of fruit and a forceful personality. Fans of classically ripe sweet blends will dig this, big time. The Cab is structure. The Merlot is freshness and acid. The Syrah adds darkness and power and texture. A fine and fun and fascinating wine to drink after a day at the beach, or just anytime. A huge crowd-pleaser. 94 points and 'Editors' Choice,' Wine Enthusiast: "Dry, smooth and distinguished. Shows Mondavi's ability to get the grapes ripe in blackberries and currants, yet the fruit pulls back at the last moment, letting earthy, herbal notes take over, providing complexity and endless pleasure. The tannins are pure Oakville--sweet, soft and supple. Drink this elegant, balanced wine over the next six years. abv: 14.5%. (Jun 2012)"
90 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "($55 list; blended with 8% cabernet franc, 5% petit verdot, 3% merlot and 1% malbec; aged in 75% new oak for 18 months): Good bright ruby. Complex nose offers plum, black cherry, graphite, flowers, menthol and cedary oak. Nicely fleshy but not at all muscular, with a juicy, penetrating character to the cassis, licorice, cedar and spice flavors. An elegantly styled cabernet with firm but smooth tannins, from a vintage that winemaker Genevieve Janssens describes as 'cold.' (May 2012)"
Producer notes: "When Tim Mondavi describes his Cabernet Sauvignon wines from the Oakville region of Napa Valley, he admires their powerful flavors and muscular tannins, but he most loves their elegance and the way they coat one’s palate with velvet. Oakville is distinguished by an alluvial fan extending from the base of the Mayacamas Mountains that form the valley’s western border. The Oakville bench, which lies against the hills, has well-drained soils that allow deep rooting and the development of complex flavors in the grapes. We selected all Oakville bench vineyards for this wine, including 82% from Robert Mondavi’s historic To Kalon Vineyard."

91 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$60 list] The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is wonderfully supple and fragrant. Silky tannins frame a core of expressive dark red fruit. Floral and spice notes are nicely woven throughout. This textured, gracious Cabernet Sauvignon should continue to age gracefully for another 7-10 years, but it is awfully good right now. The blend includes 7% Merlot and 1.5% Cabernet Franc in 2009. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. (Dec 2011)"
Producer notes: "This Cabernet is deep ruby in color with massive extraction and great density. The nose opens with huge intensity, great depth, and lots of layers. Big fruit aromas of black cherry, bright red berries, and plums all lead into the barrel notes of toasty oak, vanilla, and smoky undertones. The palate entry opens smoothly and builds predictably with big, firm (but not coarse) tannin, good acid balance and lots of structure. There is a great progression from ripe, sweet cherry and plum fruit up-front to rich, dried black fruit and spice on the finish - with the vanilla and spice from the barrel layering in seamlessly. For a young wine, it is already showing quite well and will continue to improve over the next 10+ years. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc. Alcohol 13.8%."

Smoky cassis and blueberry on the nose and palate, with complicating hints of cola, espresso and dark chocolate. This is a big and mouth-filling wine yet there's surprising elegance to its sweet dark berry flavors. Finishes firm and chewy, with solid tannins adding support. I suspect that this will be even better with a couple more years of bottle age. (Nov/Dec 2012)"
Producer notes: " This vintage showcases the classic traits that we love in our Cabernet -- aromas of cherry, berry, cola, fresh sage, and lovely baking spices. The flavor profile develops further into flavors of red plum, violets and lavender with subtle oak characters. A mouth-filling roundness, well-integrated tannins and a long, lingering finish sum up this Cabernet Sauvignon. 1,983 cases produced. 14.8% alcohol."

The C Blend was crafted from a core of Cabernet Sauvignon fused with the robust flavors of California's native Zinfandel. The depth and power of Cabernet pairs well with Zinfandel's bright fruit and spice, creating a balanced wine with mouth-filling tannins that will cellar well for years. The aromas are complex and alluring with layers of sage and dried tobacco leaf wrapped around a chocolate covered cherry core. This wine offers a full, textured mouthfeel, with flavors echoing the aromas. A long, juicy currant finish is underscored by hints of toasted oak and dried herbs. Alcohol 14.5%."

93 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent choice for readers who want to drink a Ramey wine without waiting the decade or so it takes most of his wines to truly open up. Dark red berries, savory herbs, mint and licorice all jump from the glass. A large-scaled, voluptuous wine, the 2009 is juicy, expressive and wonderfully resonant. Layers of fruit continue to build to the rich, enveloping finish. The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is quite a mouthful! Anticipated maturity: 2017-2029. (Apr 2013)"
91 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Opaque purple. Dark berries, cherry pit and chocolate on the nose, with licorice and black cardamon nuances adding complexity. Sappy, expansive blackcurrant and cherry flavors show very good depth, with a peppery quality providing lift. Fine-grained tannins add grip to the sweet, subtly floral finish. This suave wine drinks very well right now. (May 2012)"
Producer notes: "Our fifth vintage of this appellation Cabernet, which represents a blend of hillside and valley floor vineyards. This year included the J. Davies Vineyard on Diamond Mountain, 21%; the Somerston hillside vineyard, 20%; DeSantis on the valley floor just north of Zinfandel Lane, 21%; Lamoreaux in Oak Knoll, 34%; and 4% from two small parcels. Aging on the fine lees incorporates the oak so that the two years spent in two-thirds new barrels (a mixture of French and American) is barely noticeable. As with all of our wines, it was fermented with native yeasts and bacteria and bottled without filtration. This wine combines the harmony produced by traditional Bordelaise winemaking techniques with the voluptuousness of a great Napa Valley vintage. 96% Cabernet Sauvignon with small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot."

90-92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Claret is a silky, polished wine very much in the style of the year. Layers of fruit flow effortlessly from this attractive, mid-weight red. Sweet berries, flowers, spices and licorice are some of the many nuances that flesh out on the finish. This is a more feminine, gracious style than the 2008, but there is still quite a bit of heft. In 2009 the blend is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot, 2% Syrah and 1% Merlot. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (Feb 2012)"
91 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Deep ruby. Aromas of cherry compote, vanilla and smoky herbs. Broad, pliant red and dark fruit flavors show very good depth as well as energy, with a spicy, peppery nuance adding bite to the back end. Closes with very good energy and lift, leaving sweet dark berry and floral pastille notes behind. (May 2012)"
Producer notes: "Our entry-level Cabernet blend, this vintage is comprised of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon along with 6% Syrah, 2% Petit Verdot, and 1% Merlot. (You may know that before France started their AOC (appellation) system in the 1930’s it was common, during the 1800’s, to import Syrah from Hermitage to blend with the wines of Bordeaux. These hermitage’ wines often fetched higher prices in the English market than those which had not been 'improved.') This soft, easy-drinking Cabernet is a good introduction to the vintage, and while it will improve over the course of three to eight years, it is not a wine intended for long-term cellaring. Somerston Vineyard comprises 26% of the blend, with 21% from J. Davies on Diamond Mountain, 15% Lamoreaux Oak Knoll, 13% Pedregal in Oakville, 12% DeSantis in St. Helena, and small amounts of several other vineyards."

90 points and 'Good Value,' Connoisseurs' Guide: "If this wine is the little brother to the full-blooded Monte Bello Cabernet, it does a fine job of capturing the precise currant, loam, cola character for which that fancier bottling has become so rightfully famous. Its fruit is focused, its depth is admirable, its tannins are mannerly and its balance is so correct that there is simply nothing out of place here. It seems on its way to a half decade of service, but does offer plenty to like today as well. And its price adds to its attractiveness. (Apr 2013)"
Producer notes: "80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot. Aromas of blackberries, cassis, violets, and licorice. Dark berry flavors together with crushed rock minerals, cocoa, exotic oak spice, and chaparral. Full bodied with chalky tannins and lively acidity. 13% alcohol."

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$50 list] The winery’s Affinity bottling has had mixed results over the years, but this is one of their best, right up there with the 2007. It’s a beautiful wine, absolutely dry, tannic, smooth and complex in black currant flavor. A bright streak of acidity provides wonderful balance, and should help the wine to age through at least 2019. Alcohol 14.5%. (Sep 2012)"
92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$50 list] The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Affinity bursts from the glass with an exciting array of dark red berries, flowers, licorice and sweet spices. Floral notes reappear on the finish, adding brightness and lift. This gorgeous, mid-weight Cabernet Sauvignon should continue to drink beautifully for at least a handful of years. In 2009 the blend is 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, 2% Malbec and 1% Cabernet Franc. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017. (Dec 2011)"
91 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(includes some merlot, petit verdot, cabernet franc and malbec): Good full ruby-red. Crystallized black cherry, coffee, mocha and loam on the nose, lifted by spices. Broad, smooth and tight-grained, with lovely intensity and lift to the flavors of black fruits, licorice and dark chocolate. Finishes with dusty tannins and a firm spine of acidity. (May 2012)"
'Napa Valley's best from memorable vintage,' San Francisco Chronicle: "($50 list, 14.5%): Craig has long been an expert in the Napa hillsides, but there's something notably appealing about this blend (Petit Verdot and Merlot make cameos) from the foothills around Mount George in southeast Napa. An enthusiastic dose of oak can't mask great dried-herb and graphite complexity, or its robust bramble fruit character. Big and dense, with a plushness and tea-like herbal side. (5/20/12)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon One Point Five is a rich, boisterous wine endowed with tremendous palate presence and depth. Juicy dark red berries, flowers and mint literally burst from the glass as the 2009 opens up with some time. Year after year, the One Point Five is one of the most consistent and fairly priced wines in the highflying landscape that is the Napa Valley. This is a flat out delicious bottle to drink now (with some decanting) and over the next handful of years. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (Dec 2012)"
93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(15.3% alcohol): Saturated medium ruby. Complex aromas of cassis, dark chocolate, licorice, minerals and spicy oak, plus a hint of game. Pliant and layered on the palate, with an insidious penetrating quality to the seamless cassis, game, mineral and licorice flavors. A floral element gives lift to this primary but varietally expressive wine. Finishes long and suave, with fine tannins. Delicious now but capable of aging for a decade or more. A terrific vintage for this bottling. (May 2012)"
92 points Wine & Spirits: "This is a soft, layered, elegant cabernet even as it delivers a bath of chocolate-rich tannins and juicy dark fruit. Somehow it manages to pack in plenty of alcohol and discretion at the same time, the combination reading as exotic spice. A cushy pleasure to serve with short ribs. (Dec 2012)"
Producer notes: "This is a Cabernet that is enjoyable now and will just get better with time in the cellar. Aromas of rich, polished black fruit, mocha, and spice, followed by fulsome, juicy flavors of blackberry and black cherry, chocolate, plum and cedar, with ripe, smooth tannins and a pleasingly long finish. 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot. Alcohol 15.3%."
