90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Beautifully balanced, this offers the perfect expression of Washington State brightness and a Bordeaux-like herbal component. The tannins are fine and drying, and the wine is polished, with plenty of astringent, herbal flavors in the finish. Don’t look for big fruit here, but for a Euro style, this is a sure bet. (Feb 2011)"
Producer notes: "76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 5% Syrah, 3% Cabernet Franc. Vineyards: 45% Seven Hills, 41% Pepper Bridge, 8% Les Collines, 6% Goff. Integrated aromas of dark fruits and mint layer beautifully with notes of gravel and cedar. Full and generous flavors of black cherries and plums complement hints of mineral and cocoa powder. Gentle tannins support a supple, powerful mouthfeel. 14.1% alcohol."

90 points Robert Parker: "[$55 list] The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is a European take on Napa fruit with lots of terroir, earth, spice, black cherry, black currant, cedar, licorice and foresty notes. Medium-bodied and elegant with sweet tannins and excellent fruit, it should drink nicely for up to a decade. As evidenced by these two impressive offerings, Piero Antinori’s project on Atlas Peak is paying big dividends in terms of quality. Consultant Renzo Cotarella is the advising winemaker. (Dec 2010)" 1,800 cases produced.

92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$55 list] The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon comes across as a bit more reticent and inward next to the superb 2008, but it, too, is a gorgeous wine. Dark red fruit, licorice, smoke and tar are some of the nuances that flow from this layered, gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2009 was bottled just two months ago. It will almost certainly be even better in a few years’ time. A mid-weight, gracious wine, the 2009 should drink well to age 20 or so. In 2009 the blend includes 1.5% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029. (Dec 2011)"
90 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Bright red-ruby. Tight nose hints at cassis and licorice. Intensely flavored and high-pitched, with strong acidity and floral lift to the youthfully medicinal flavors. Densely packed, energetic wine but clenched today. Finishes with firm tannins and a lightly herbal quality. Antica is short for Antinori California. (May 2012)"
90 points Wine & Spirits: "[$55 list] This wine’s Atlas Peak tannins are softer and gentler than you might expect, its structure benefiting from the acidity of the fruit. That comes across in green herb scents refreshing the plush, ripe plum flavors. It’s generous and open, easy to enjoy with roast lamb. (Oct 2012)"

Producer notes: "Back by popular demand is the latest version of multi-vintage Impromp2. This is a blend of wine from the cellar of Arns Estate. The wine is made from selections across clones and vintages 2005 - 2009. These are special wines that were not blended with the Arns Estate Cabernet. These small lots were intentionally set aside for this special blend because of their unique character and flavors. The rich older vintages along with the vibrant new vintages offer a great experience for the palate. Flavor characteristics of chocolate, cherries, anise, mulberry, black raspberries adds complexity and charm to this blend you can experience now or cellar for a later enjoyment. 100 cases produced."

93+ points Robert Parker: "Alcohol: 14.6%; 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2006 was made from 32% Bancroft Ranch, 24% Steinhauer Ranch, 19% St. Helena Home Vineyard, with smaller amounts from Rancho del Oso, Chabot Vineyard, Marston Ranch and Lampyridae. A big heat wave in July was the salient weather factor in this vintage. The harvest began early and continued for five weeks. Abundant smoke, chocolate, espresso roast, cassis and mocha characteristics are found in this full-bodied, powerful, layered Cabernet. Although not quite as seamless as the nearly perfect 2005 Private Reserve, it is a big, dense beauty from a somewhat forgotten Napa Valley vintage. Give it 3-4 years of cellaring and drink it over the following two decades or more. (Jun 2011)"
93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "($119/750ml list; 60% from Howell Mountain fruit) Full ruby-red. Cassis and bitter chocolate on the nose, plus a dusty note that quickly blew off. Sweet, creamy and lush, with the classic black fruit, mineral and chocolate notes for which this wine is prized. At once structured and gentle thanks to its mid-palate stuffing. Finishes with big, broad, horizontal tannins that reach the front teeth. Almost deceptively sweet today, but I'd lay it down for at least a few years, as this bottling has a long track record for rewarding cellaring. (May/Jun 2009)"

Producer notes: "Calistoga is one of the warmest regions in the Napa Valley and ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon. Our Cabernet comes from Barlow Vineyards which is located just south of Calistoga. Aromatically the wine offers ripe black cherry with hints of sweet vanilla. Producer notes: "Cabernet Sauvignon 48%, Merlot 25%, Cabernet Franc 18%, Petit Verdot 9%. At just under 50%, the 2008 Cain Concept has the lowest percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon that we have had to date. But the Cabernet was tight and concentrated, so we were able to build on this core with the other varieties. With aromas of pound cake, dried cherries, Christmas spice and mocha, the wine has a silky smooth entry with very fine tannins that flow continuously to a gentle easy finish. This is what the Napa Valley is all about. Enjoy the wine today, or in ten years."

Producer notes: "Merlot 53%, Cabernet Franc 26%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20%, Petit Verdot 1%. The NV09 consists primarily of the excellent 2009 vintage (57%; hence the '09') complemented with a significant proportion of the 2008 vintage (43%). This has everything you want in a red wine: smooth entry, mouth filling, sits gently and lightly on the palate, just enough mouthwatering tannins to cleanse the palate. Aromas of black cherries, red cherries, cigar box. Core of red fruit carries through from beginning to end. Nicely refined. Nothing sticks out."

92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature is a dark, mysterious beauty endowed with considerable depth and richness. Mocha, chocolate, spices and plums fuse together gracefully as this soft, supple wine takes shape in the glass. I very much like the immediacy of the 2010. Only a little bit of persistence is missing on the finish, but not enough to materially detract from what is a gorgeous bottle of wine. For Napa Valley standards, this is about as good as it gets for the money. The blend is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 7% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025. (Dec 2012)"
91 points California Grapevine: "Medium-dark to dark purplish ruby; attractive, spicy, cedary, cassis and blackberry fruit aroma; full body; forward, rich, fleshy, currant and dark berry fruit flavors that tighten a bit on the finish; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Needs a few more years of bottle aging. Very highly recommended. 14.5% alcohol; 730 cases; blended with 14% Merlot, 6% Malbec, and 4% Petit Verdot; released October 2012. (Mar 2013)"
Producer notes: "This wine offers all of the color, concentration and complexity of a classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Pritchard Hill. The nose displays, rich, vivid layers of dark berry, cherry, and sweet oak, underscored by background notes of bay leaf, sage, chocolate and anise. The mouthfeel is powerful, yet rounded, with a silky presence that allows the wine to gracefully support its size, and its voluptuous ripe cherry, berry and plum flavors. Spicy oak notes of cinnamon, vanilla and roasted coffee add nuance and depth, while youthful tannins give a fine grip to the palate providing the structure for long-term aging. Cabernet Sauvignon 76%, Merlot 14%, Malbec 6%, Petit Verdot 4%. Alcohol 14.9%."

Producer notes: "As Chappellet Mountain Cuvee was, Cervantes Mountain Cuvee is blended around a core of Cabernet, but it also includes a significant amount of Merlot to add suppleness and fruit. The 2010 Cervantes is dark and concentrated, with lovely aromas of ripe cherry, berry fruit, cola, cedar and coffee. Supporting notes of sweet oak, anise and cassis add brightness and nuance to the nose. On the palate, this full-bodied wine is packed with radiant tannins, mouthfilling sweet fruit, chocolate and baking spices. Though eminently drinkable now for its flashy youthfulness, 2010 has also produced a cellar-worthy Cervantes that will gain complexity with additional aging."

The 2009 vintage is 100% pure Cabernet with intense dark blackberry and plum fruit flavors and long finish. This is a true steakhouse red!"
89 points Wine Spectator: "Rich and ripe, this dense, dry red offers sweet, somewhat jammy currant and blackberry flavors, with a touch of honey. Shows breadth and length, but needs time to settle down. Drink now through 2015. (11/30/12)"

93 points and 'Highly Recommended,' Wine Spectator: "[$45 list] Chewy with tannin, but bursting with fresh currant and plum, sneaking in hints of mint and black tea as the finish lingers. A graceful wine that has miles to go. Best from 2013 through 2018. (5/31/12)"
Producer notes: "86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot. Crafted in a classic Bordeaux style and sourced from low-yielding vineyards within the best appellations of the Columbia Valley. This wine delivers an enticing bouquet of spice, anise and rose petals. On the palate a perfect balance of cherry, berry and coco flavors lead to a powerful and complex finish."

90 pointsConnoisseurs' Guide: "[$55 list] Decidely varietal from the first in its aromas of currant, black cherry with a hint of red cherry, green olives and rich soil notes, this very likeable wine is medium-full to full in body and supple in feel with a solidifying streak of supportive tannins for grip and longevity. Continuous in flavor right to the end, this is a very well-made, entirely reliable wine for today and tomorrow, and we expect that it will mature gracefully for a decade or more. (Apr 2013)"
Producer notes: "Dense and inky, the core is a beautiful, rich ruby color. The aromas lift out of the glass with blackberry, black cherry, ripe raspberry and tea leaf. The entry is impressive with a fleshy mouthfeel and notes of cassis, dark chocolate and ripe berries. The layers continue to unfold throughout a long finish. The 2010 is ready to drink upon release, and will develop and age gracefully over five to seven years. 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 3% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc. Barrel aged 19 months in 100% French oak (30% new). Alcohol 14.2%."

88 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon is a pretty, fleshy wine graced with expressive fruit and perfumed aromatics. Dark fruit, sweet spices and herbs are layered into the finish. It is a terrific wine for the money, something that isn’t easy to say about Napa Valley Cabernets. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017. 90 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$50 list] Juicy red berries, crushed flowers, cloves and a hint of French oak all come together nicely in the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon. A gracious, mid-weight wine, the 2009 should drink well pretty much upon release. Sweet floral notes reappear to frame the feminine, expressive finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. (Dec 2012)"
90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Youthful purple color. Spice-accented aromas of cherry, cassis and pipe tobacco, with suave vanilla and Indian spice nuances adding complexity. Offers an array of dark fruit flavors brightened by a sexy floral note and gentle acidity. Smooth and smoky on the persistent finish. (May 2012)"
Producer notes: "Rich dark garnet in color, the 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon opens with savory notes of leather, spice and cedar that play nicely with the aromas of black cherries simmered in brown sugar. The palate is lavish and vibrant, exploding with ripe red fruit, hibiscus flower and mocha, and backed by a subtle minerality. This young wine impresses with its effortless elegance and complexity showing excellent mid palate structure and depth."

92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "A powerful, direct wine, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon hits the palate with a blast of dark cherries, plums, violets and spice box. The tannins remain quite firm, so another few years of cellaring is probably a good idea. I very much like the sense of energy and direction, especially on the finish. The 2009 is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc, from parcels in Stage Coach, Potelle, Veeder Peak, Bosche and Sycamore. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (Dec 2012)"
Producer notes: "[$44 list] 75.1% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13.1% Merlot, 7.1% Petit Verdot, 2.9% Malbec, 1.8% Cabernet Franc. This Cabernet is opaque with a dark ruby-garnet color, complimentary to the rich dark aroma and flavor. The aromas of black currant, black cherry, berry and Santa Rosa plum are intertwined with the spicy sweetness of oak, cedar, cinnamon, clove and toast. The entry is soft, with dark cherry/berry flavors that develop from start to finish. With great texture and mouth feel, this Cabernet is full bodied, rich and opulent. Producer notes: "Typically when speaking of Cabernet, and especially Cabernet from Rutherford, we speak of the black fruit flavors of blackberries, cassis, and black currants. With our 2009 release, however, we find a lot of our descriptors heading in the direction of red fruits--maybe even purple fruits--ripe plums, elderberries and ruby red cherries all with very supple tannins and lovely acidity. My thoughts immediately turn to cuisine: roast chicken, loin of pork or the braise of a young rabbit. 93% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc."
2008 vintage rated 92 points and 'Best Buy' by Wine & Spirits: "John Williams consistently grows one of the most compelling cabernets on the Napa Valley floor--without ever irrigating his organically farmed vines. His 2008 is elegant and refined, a cabernet that's not afraid to show some varietal notes of tobacco and herb, along with black cherry and cranberry flavors. It's complex and youthfully tannic, all woven into a seamless finish. This should age with grace."
