96+ points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2008 Reva (Syrah) is stunningly beautiful. This is a relatively delicate, feminine Reva that impresses for its length, balance and utter purity of fruit. Dark red cherries, flowers, mint and silky, saline notes wrap around the expressive fruit on the long, polished finish. A hint of truffles adds to the wine’s sensual, totally beguiling personality. In 2008, the Reva is drop-dead gorgeous. Readers should note that, in this vintage, there is no Lorraine or Seymour’s, so the 2008 is a 'super-Reva!' Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020. (Aug 2012)"
95-96 points James Suckling: "Love the spice, game and dark berries, yet reserved and austere. Shows form and firmness. Long and beautiful. Should be in market in November 2012. (5/25/12)"
93-96 points Rhone Report: "The 2008 Alban Vineyards Syrah Reva Alban Estate Vineyard was the only Syrah produced in '08. Showing a lively, more energetic profile than the more heavy weight '06 and '07, it still doesn.t lack for structure, depth, or complexity. Showing loads of tapenade, lavender, blood, and black fruits, medium to full-body, and a beautifully focused, pure texture and finish, this elegant Syrah should still benefit from short term cellaring once released. I love the vibrancy here, and it will be interesting to see how this shows from bottle. (Dec 2011)"
94 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(raised in French oak, 80% of it new, for 44 months; 15.1% alcohol): Glass-staining purple. Sexy smoke- and spice-accented aromas of candied black and blue fruits and potpourri, with a suggestion of black pepper building with air. Lush and expansive on the palate, offering deeply pitched but lively cassis and blueberry flavors and a suave floral pastille nuance. The spicy note comes back strong on the finish, which shows only a hint of tannins. (Nov/Dec 2012)"

88 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2010 Sin Zin is about as good a bottle of California wine as readers will find for the money. Juicy, rich and varietally expressive, the 2010 impresses for its balance, especially at this price point. Juicy red cherries, tobacco, flowers and mint linger on the expressive, layered finish. This is a terrific effort for a vintage that was very, very hard for Zinfandel. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2015. (Apr 2013)"
Producer notes: "The 2010 includes a small amount of Petite Sirah to broaden the mouthfeel on the wine and add a little more dark fruit to the palate. There are aromas of raspberry, plum, black cherry, and citrus. In the glass there are flavors of plum, cranberry, black cherry, and classic spicy black pepper. The 2010 is a restrained vintage and will reward those with the patience to cellar a few bottles. 98.5% Zinfandel, 1.5% Petite Sirah. Alcohol 14.7%."

95+ points Robert Parker: "The 2006 Eloge’s dark plum/ruby color is followed by a sweet kiss of plum, black cherry, earth, licorice, and spice box, a medium to full-bodied wine, abundant tannin, and impressive concentration, purity, and overall complexity. Reasonably evolved, and extremely seductive aromatically, with a slightly structured finish, it can be enjoyed now and over the next 15 years. It is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, 7% Petit Verdot, and 3% Merlot. (Dec 2009)"

It shows gorgeous minerality and freshness that balances some of the wine’s more overt tendencies. Crushed rocks, lemon peel and mint reappear on the textured, large-scaled finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020. (Feb 2012)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "Rich without being weighty, this offers intense smoke, spice, nectarine, peach and pear notes that are fresh and vibrant, gaining depth, ending with a citrusy aftertaste. Drink now through 2019. 660 cases made. (7/31/12)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2011 Chardonnay Eastside Vineyard is rich, fat and explosive. Butter, smoke, spices, apricots, orange blossoms, almonds, hazelnuts, and nectarines all burst from the glass. This is a decidedly extroverted, plush Chardonnay with tons of Russian River character. It has a bit more oiliness and fat than the Ritchie, and is also just as beautiful. A wine of pure richness and glycerin, the vinous, textured Eastside Vineyard will drink well right out of the gate. Vintage 2011 is the first release of the Eastside Vineyard, which previously went into the Russian River bottling. Vineyard guru Ulises Valdez planted this site with Montrachet clones. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. (Apr 2013)"

91 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2011 Chardonnay CIX Vineyard is the least expressive of these single-vineyard wines. Bright floral notes meld into various shades of citrus. There is plenty of polish, but the CIX doesn’t have anywhere near the level of complexity and/or nuance of the best wines in the range. Today, the CIX appears to still be somewhat of a work in progress relative to the high level that is customary throughout the rest of the range. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2018. (Apr 2013)"

Layers of fruit emerge effortlessly from this textured, totally beautiful Chardonnay. Despite its richness, there is more than enough underlying minerality to buffer the fruit. This is the most nuanced and detailed of the 2010 Chardonnays from Aubert. Dried apricots, flowers and mint are some of the many notes that linger on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2020. (Feb 2012)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "Weaving together a tasty mix of smoky tangerine, nectarine, white peach and mineral flavors, this is pure, focused and persistent, elegant and detailed. Shows more toasty oak on the aftertaste. Drink now through 2019. 1,098 cases made. (7/31/12)"

Rich, voluptuous and creamy, the 2011 is another of the more overt wines in this range. Still, there is more than enough underlying minerality to balance the fruit. The old Wente and Montrachet clones work well here, but the vines are only 12 years old, which suggests the best is still very much in the future. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2019. (Apr 2013)"

Yellow stone fruit, light floral honey, nectarine and almonds inform the rich, oily finish. The 100% new barrels are imperceptible. All the elements are beautifully in place in this harmonious, voluptuous Chardonnay. This is a great, great showing from Mark Aubert. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2021. (Apr 2013)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "The pure, rich smoke, fig, apricot and crème brûlée flavors are deep and persistent in this white, which is slow to open but gains depth, focus, persistence and length, ending with light toasted marshmallow. Drink now through 2018. 1,363 cases made. (5/1/13)"

Apricots, peaches, wild flowers, nectarine and smoke are some of the multiple nuances in the glass. The UV-SL is another of the richer, more textured wines in the lineup. At the same time, the 2011 is a wine of vivid nuance, transparency and crystalline purity. Here, too, the 100% new oak barrels are totally integrated. It is so rare to find so much detail in this creamy, big Chardonnay, but it’s all there. This is another utterly impeccable wine from Mark Aubert. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2018. (Apr 2013)"

93 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "Deep, dense and rich, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain oozes with character and sheer personality. Black fruit, tobacco, incense and crushed rocks are some of the many nuances that unfold as the wine sits in the glass. Tar, asphalt and licorice are layered into the sinewy, powerful finish. The 2010 is a fascinating and totally intriguing Cabernet. The blend is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (Dec 2012)"
Producer notes: "89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot. Dark purple in its youth, the 2010 Spring Mountain Cabernet has an immediate core of pure black fruit, mostly cassis and blackberry. Full fennel/black licorice and crushed violets are also prevalent. The dark mountain earth minerality is balanced by sweet vanilla bean aromatics from the oak. The wine is quite plush with concentrated raspberry and more gravel mineral tones on the palate. The tannins this year are very firm, with natural mountain acid to balance, demanding some time in the bottle to show its best. Barrel aged 22 months in French oak (70% new and 30% 2-4 years old). Alcohol 14.2%. 914 cases produced."

95+ points Robert Parker: "[$225/750ml list] The real star is the nearly 1,000 case-lot of the Paradise Hills Vineyard Proprietary Red. The dense, opaque plum/purple-hued 2006 Paradise Hills Vineyard exhibits a beautiful, sweet bouquet of melted chocolate, burning embers, blackberries, mocha, espresso roast, cassis, and cherries as well as stunning concentration, and formidable, but velvety, beautifully integrated tannins. This wine comes across like a hypothetical blend of California, a great Graves, and something from further north in Bordeaux, such as a Pauillac. Full-bodied and powerful, it requires 2-4 years of cellaring, and should evolve for 20-25+ years. (Dec 2009)"
95 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(60% cabernet sauvignon and 40% merlot) Dark ruby-red. Vibrant, complex nose combines currant, minerals, tobacco and brown spices. Wonderfully sweet, lush and fine-grained, with its silky texture enlivened by compelling inner-mouth perfume. Intriguing mineral and licorice notes add to the complexity of this very deep, layered wine, which finishes with spreading tannins and outstanding length. Large-scaled and rather powerful but with a lovely light touch. A superb 2006. (May/Jun 2009)"

David Fulton’s bottling is an example of the heights Petite Sirah can reach. The wine is fairly new (the first release was the 1999 vintage) but the vineyard is old...very old. In fact, these are purportedly the oldest Petite Sirah vines in Napa Valley (and possibly California). Founded by David Fulton in 1865, the vineyard and winery are located just a short walk from downtown St. Helena. Handed down generation
by generation, the land exists today as the oldest continuously owned and operated family vineyard in California. The current dry farmed, head trained vineyard is recognized today as an ‘old-vine’ varietal super-site. No doubt about it, this is an intense wine. The pour is inky black displaying dark reds with a deep purple rim. The wine is aged in half new and half two year old French oak barrels. Rising up from a swirling glass are fresh, massive, pure black fruit aromas with hints of blackberry and loganberry, fragrances elegantly revealed in a way rarely seen in this variety. The flavors match the aromatics yet divulge even more with cassis, licorice, and well-integrated oak notes. The texture is a multilayered
coating of round and supple black cherry. At the end of each sip follow rich and mature tannins. The wine allows for current consumption for those who can't wait yet graceful aging for those who prefer patience.

Producer notes: "76% Sauvignon Blanc, 24% Sémillon. This Sauvignon Blanc seamlessly combines lush, mouth-filling fruit with refreshing acidity. The aromas highlight bright citrus notes of lemon zest, grapefruit and kaffir lime, underscored by subtle hints of pear and dried apricot. Echoing the aromatics, the palate reveals vibrant citrus layers complemented by more subdued tropical elements of banana, coconut and lychee."

95 points Robert Parker: "The 2006 Futo (75% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot) exhibits a deep ruby/blue/purple color, a flawless integration of tannin, acidity, wood, and alcohol, and gorgeous opulence. While Futo is situated on western hillsides overlooking Oakville, it displays a style that has more in common with the purity and elegance found in Screaming Eagle, which is a few miles to the east, on the valley floor. This beautiful 2006 is a resounding success for this vintage, which had some issues with rustic tannins. It should drink well for 15+ years. This new, tiny operation, with a beautiful vineyard overseen by David Abreu, and Mark Aubert making the wines, had its debut release in 2004, followed by a brilliant 2005. They have continued to build on those successes with compelling wines in both 2006 and 2007. Production is gradually inching up, and should eventually reach 1,000 cases. There are approximately 500 cases each of the 2006 and 2007. Proprietors Tom and Kyle Futo are wine lovers with enough discretionary income to live out their dream. (Dec 2008)"
94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(15.3% alcohol; a 75/25 blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot) Very good deep ruby-red. Deep aromas of black raspberry, cassis, mocha, leather and dark chocolate. Dense and broad but sappy, with lovely lift to the lush flavors of blueberry, brown spices and tobacco. An outsized, opulent Napa Valley red with just enough acidity to keep it fresh. In fact, I find this less roasted than the 2005 release. Finishes with huge, dusty, building tannins and excellent length. (May/Jun 2009)"

98 points Robert Parker: "The 2004 Harlan Estate is probably the most precocious and accessible Harlan Estate that this perfectionist team has made. Already compelling, the wine has notes of roasted coffee, charcoal, blackberry, spring flowers, and some background sweet, toasty notes. Dense, fleshy, exuberant, even flamboyant by the standards of Bill Harlan, this wine exhibits no jaggedness or rough edges, has relatively high tannins, but they melt away on the palate. The wine is sensationally well-endowed, long, and rich -- a tour de force in winemaking. They can do no wrong at Harlan, and it is obvious, even in the most challenging vintages such as 1998, that this estate is a true grand cru/first growth, making wines of irrefutable world-class quality. Of course, none of this comes cheap, as the price is now moving up into the league with Screaming Eagle, but there are no shortage of takers. (Dec 2007)"
97 points Wine Spectator: "Firmly structured and tightly wound, with deep, perfumed currant, anise, sage and cedary oak notes, picking up a mineral and pebble edge and ending with a return to the spicy currant fruit. Long and persistent, with tight tannins. Best from 2009 through 2020. 2,126 cases made. Collectibles. (10/15/07)"
97 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Deep medium ruby. Superripe aromas and flavors of roasted black raspberry, licorice, mocha and minerals; just this side of liqueur-like. Thick, dense and silky but tightly wound and still youthfully closed. This compellingly deep wine boasts outstanding sweetness without coming off as over the top. Finishes with huge but sweet tannins and great length. (May/Jun 2007)"
The World of Fine Wine: "Intense nose, savory and a touch tarry. Fresher and livelier than the nose suggests, very ripe but shows a light touch; has a light herbal tone but is fully ripe. (Issue #32; 2011)"

Quarterly Review of Wines: "A richly-textured wine, this one has a thick cloak of currant and plum, framed with plenty of toasty-bacon-like oak; the ripeness of the fruit, and subsequent alcohol, is noticeable. Not made for the faint of heart. (Spring 2008)"

Producer notes: "As our new winemaker, Tony Biagi says, 'Terroir is a complex subject. Sometimes it’s just easier to taste it than explain it.' Our two Cabernet sites are a terrific study in the variances of terroir and how each unique site expresses its imprint on Cabernet Sauvignon. While the Hourglass Estate Cab tends to be more classically styled, the Blueline Cabernet is unapologetically 'Napa Valley' -- rich, lush and bold! Signature Blueline Vineyard aromas of warm blackberry pie (creamy dark fruit and yeasty dough), black cherry, cassis and plum are followed with a slight hint of toasted sage, bay leaf and fennel. On the palate, this Cab has wonderful flavors of black cherry, plum sauce, tobacco and soy, with a long rich finish. The warmer climate of Blueline Vineyard delivers polished tannins with a silky texture and broad mouth-feel. The acidity, a hallmark of the cooler 2010 vintage, delivers freshness and tangy vitality. This wine will age beautifully, but its charming approachability may prove too tempting to see how it evolves. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Barrel aged 19 months in French oak (45% new)."
Not yet reviewed; 2009 vintage rated 91 points by Wine Enthusiast: "This is a big, tannic, midnight black Cabernet, rude in youth and barely drinkable. The tannins are powerful enough to lock down the palate. The grapes, grown in Calistoga, are very ripe in blackberries, currants and dark chocolate, but those tannins are stubbornly astringent. Almost old-fashioned in toughness despite very high alcohol, it’s a curiosity that seems likely to develop in the cellar, but with so little evidence of past vintages, all bets are off. 690 cases produced. 15.4% alcohol."

93+ points Robert Parker: "When I first tasted the 2003, I thought it may be better than the 2002 and 2001. One of the top wines of the vintage, it tastes much younger than the 2002, displaying lots of tannin along with hints of melted chocolate, licorice, cedarwood, lead pencil shavings, toffee, blackberries and cassis. It exhibits great fruit and a full-bodied finish, but also some tannins in the finish. Give it another 5-6 years of cellaring, or, if you want to drink it now, decant it for 4-6 hours in advance. (Jun 2012)"
93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "15.9% alcohol) Full red-ruby. Superripe aromas of plum, mocha, tobacco, caramel and truffle, with a hint of roasted fruits. Thick and voluptuous, with superconcentrated flavors of plum, truffle and mocha. This offers rare sweetness and opulence with just enough mid-palate energy to maintain its shape. Finishes with very suave, lush tannins and lingering notes of caramel and mocha. This one is just this side of too much, with aromas that began almost oxidative, and yet the wine became fresher with extended time in the recorked bottle without any loss of sweetness. A rather extreme vintage in the context of Hundred Acre, but a wine of extravagant breadth and richness. (May/Jun 2006)"

Wonderful vibrancy and intensity for a wine this age, which only bodes well for the future. A classic. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.--'97 California Cabernet retrospective. Drink now through 2020. (2008)"
96 points Robert Parker: "The prodigious 1997 Insignia (83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, and 3% Petit Verdot) lives up to its pre-bottling promise. Tasted on three separate occasions, every bottle has hit the bull's eye. The color is a saturated thick-looking blue/purple. The nose offers up explosive aromas of jammy black fruits, licorice, Asian spices, vanillin, and cedar. Full-bodied as well as exceptionally pure and impressively endowed, this blockbuster yet surprisingly elegant wine cuts a brilliant swath across the palate. A seamless effort with beautifully integrated acidity, sweet tannin, and alcohol, it is still an infant, but can be drunk with considerable pleasure. Anticipated maturity: now-2025. (Dec 2000)"
94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Full ruby. Supersweet aromas of blackberry, cassis, bitter chocolate, espresso and tobacco. Thick and seamless yet bright and sharply defined. Very long and spicy on the aftertaste, with excellent grip. Sweet tannins coat the teeth. Williams says the selection for Insignia is based on quality and concentration rather than on a particular flavor profile. (May/Jun 2000)"

91 points Robert Parker: "The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon flows across the palate with dark red fruit, licorice, spices and savory herbs. This delicate, understated Cabernet shows terrific balance in an understated, mid-weight personality. Structurally appears to be a wine to drink over the medium-term. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020. (Dec 2011)"
