88 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "($22 list; 90% tempranillo and 10% graciano) Bright ruby. Smoky, vibrant nose offers red fruits, spices, tobacco and minerals, all lifted by a whiff of dried flowers. Rich and sweet, with the vanilla and cracked pepper notes complementing broad cherry and berry flavors. A bit oaky, but shows good finishing cling and sappy persistence. (Sep 2009)"
87 points Wine Spectator: "[$22 list] This lean red offers cherry, plum, menthol and tobacco flavors. A bit austere, with firm tannins on the finish, but shows freshness and focus. Best from 2010 through 2016. 1,250 cases made. (10/15/09)"

90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "[$22 list] Bright red. Sexy, oak-spiced red berry and cherry aromas are complemented by sassafras and smoked meat. The palate offers sweet floral pastille and vanilla qualities, with pliant raspberry and mocha flavors showing a supple, seamless texture. Invitingly plush and open-knit Rioja with very good finishing clarity and lingering sweetness. While this will no doubt age I find it to be delicious right now. (Sep/Oct 2010)"
90 points Jay Miller (Wine Advocate): "The purple-colored 2005 Vina Santurnia Reserva is denser, richer, and more concentrated. Supple, ripe, and structured on the palate, it will evolve for another 1-2 years and drink well through 2020. (Jun 2010)"
Tempranillo 80%, Mazuelo 10%, Graciano 5% and Garnacha 5%.

93 points Wine & Spirits: "[$32 list] This comes from the López de Heredia family’s Cubillas vineyard, 59 acres of vines averaging 40 years of age, two-thirds of which are tempranillo, the balance planted to garnacha, mazuelo and graciano. They designate this vineyard’s wine as a Crianza, though it has the grandeur and elegance that takes it to a higher level. The lush fruit has scents of tart raspberries and sweet cherry compote, while a prickle of spice keeps it lean and classical in structure. That spiciness brings chorizo to mind, with which this would be delicious. (Dec 2012)"
91 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(65% tempranillo, 25% garnacha and 5% each of graciano and mazuelo): Deep red. Highly perfumed aromas of cherry, raspberry and baking spices, plus a hint of mocha. Sappy and seamless in texture, with very good depth and clarity to its spicy red fruit flavors. Fine-grained tannins come on late and add shape to the long, penetrating, spice-dominated finish. Pretty tasty right now but this elegant wine's balance bodes well for aging. (Sep/Oct 2011)"
91 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "[$32 list] The 2005 Cubillo Tinto Crianza has a wonderful bouquet with leathery red fruit augmented by subtle hints of undergrowth, tobacco and a touch of spice. The palate is medium-bodied with a bit of piquancy on the entry. The acidity is quite sharp and it is missing a little flesh and weight towards the tensile finish. Drink now-2018. (Aug 2012)"
Producer notes: "Tempranillo (65%), Garnacha (25%), and the rest Mazuelo and Graciano, all from our own vineyards. Colour: Clear, bright ruby. Nose: Fresh and slight aroma to licorice with consistent texture and persistent aroma. Taste: Smooth, fresh and persistent. Barrel aged 3 years, racked twice per year and fined with fresh egg whites. Alcohol 13%."

93 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "[$28 list] The 2005 Reserva is a blend of 95% Tempranillo and 5% Graciano from 40-year-old vines aged in American and French oak for 18 months. It has an understated, subtle bouquet of dark cherries, loganberry and just a hint of tobacco and balsamic. The definition is wonderful: great clarity and focus here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, fine tannins and a crisp core of cranberry and raspberry fruit that leads to a subtle leather and tobacco tinged finish. This is very classy. Drink now-2020. (Aug 2012)"
90 points Peñín Guide: "(95% tempranillo, 5% graciano). Colour: light cherry, garnet rim. Nose: ripe fruit, fine reductive notes, spicy, toasty. Palate: good acidity, balanced flavourful. (2012)"

95 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "[$62 list] The 2005 Prado Enea Gran Reserva spends 36-months in oak, nine months in new oak after which it is racked into American oak that is 'semi-new' (i.e. a new barrel that is 'broken in' with a wine beforehand). It has an unashamedly opulent bouquet of primal, ripe, boysenberry, mulberry, dark chocolate and crushed violets that blossom with aeration. The palate is full-bodied with crisp acidity cutting through the pure blackberry and cassis fruit. It has wonderful focus and intensity, though the finish demonstrates convincing composure. This is an outstanding Gran Reserva whose silky texture will instantly win you over. Drink 2013-2030+. (Aug 2012)"

90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "($28 list; 100% tempranillo) Deep ruby. Brooding cherry and blackcurrant aromas are complicated by cocoa and cola. Velvety cherry and dark berry preserve flavors are supported by firm tannins, which are slowly absorbed by the sweet fruit. Finishes with refreshing mineral bite and excellent persistence, strongly echoing the dark berry notes. This will benefit from a few years of patience. (Sep/Oct 2008)"
90+ points Jay Miller (Wine Advocate): Recommended and tasted, but no tasting note given. (Feb 2009)

95 points Jay Miller (Wine Advocate): "However, the 2005 Reserva has considerably more stuffing and should easily outdistance the 2006. It is a glass-coating opaque purple color with an already complex perfume of floral, mineral, spice, and black fruit elements. Dense and packed, this structured but impeccably balanced offering will evolve for 8-10 years and have a 30+ year lifespan. (Jun 2010)"
94 points Peñín Guide: "(90% tempranillo, 10% graciano). Colour: very deep cherry. Nose: complex, powerful, aromatic coffee, cedar wood, creamy oak, ripe fruit. Palate: round, spiritous, powerful, fleshy, complex, flavourful, round tannins. (2011)"
93 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(85% tempranillo, 10% graciano, 3% garnacha and 2% 'others') Vivid ruby. Flamboyant aromas of candied red fruits, incense and spicecake, with slow-building floral and mineral qualities. Silky in texture and deep in sweet raspberry and cherry flavors, picking up a zesty blood orange note with aeration. Very precise, with outstanding clarity to its spicy, tenacious finish. Definitely put this one away. (Nov/Dec 2010)"
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Tight, pure and just right from start to finish. The nose offers bold berry, roasted plum, vanilla and spice aromas along with exceptional clarity, and the palate is snappy and pure but also dark and loaded with coffee, chocolate, mocha and fine raspberry and cherry flavors. Slightly oaky but smooth late, and composed. Drink now through 2014.. (Feb 2011)"
