Segura Viudas is one of the top Spanish sparkling wine producers, notes for its high production standards and artisan Cavas. Seguar Viudas Brut Reserva, a méthode Champenoise Cuvée of Macabeo, Parellada, and Xarel-lo grapes grown in the renowned Penedès region of Spain, is clean and delicate, yet rich in flavor. Aged in the bottle for a minimum of three years, this fine cuvée is fairly crisp with an interesting floral note and mouth-pleasing sensation of creaminess.
Tasting note: The nose shows some yeast and dough aromas, along with lemon and red apple. The flavor is sweet Meyer lemon and red apple, and though it's not long in the finish, this is crisp and pleasing. This is an ideal Cava for parties and for very light appetizers.
