90 points Wine Spectator: "[$23/375ml list] This amber dessert wine is rich and viscous on the palate, with date, fig, honey and clove notes. Intense and sweet, without being sugary. Drink now through 2020. 500 cases imported (8/31/10)"
90 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$23/375ml list] Light brown and slightly translucent in color. Aromas lean toward raisin and prune, but there's orange zest and molasses on the bouquet as well. Bores straight ahead on the palate, with sweet flavors of burnt brown sugar, caramel and prune. Satisfying and balanced even if it's not overly complex. abv: 17%. (Apr 2012)"
90 points Peñín Guide: "(100% pedro ximenez) Colour: dark mahogany. Nose: complex, dried fruit, pattiserie, toasty, saline. Palate: sweet, rich, unctuous, powerful, fruity. (2011)"
Producer notes: "This sweet young wine is obtained through drying the Pedro Ximénez grapes on mats in the sun. Brilliant clear amber color. Clean, light and superbly stylish, it is a pure raisin wine that combines a full aroma with a pleasant fruitiness. Rich in dried fruit nuances and toasty hints of skins, with fresh overtones, rosemary honey. Unctuous palate. Alcohol 17%. Sugar 415 g/l. Food Pairing:
Nice partner for blue cheese, pastry and sweetmeats. It can also be served as a dessert itself or with ice or soda as a cooling delicious drink."

96 points Robert Parker: "The impressive 1927 Pedro Ximenez Solera, from a Solera begun nearly 80 years ago, boasts a dark amber color as well as an extraordinary nose of creme brulee, liquefied nuts, marmalade, and maple syrup. Huge and viscous, yet neither cloyingly sweet nor heavy, it is a profound effort priced unbelievably low. It is meant to be drunk alone at the end of a meal. (Jun 2005)"
94 points and 'Top 100 Wines of 2012,' Wine Enthusiast: "[$25/375ml] A rank well above most PX sweeties, with lush but fresh aromas of raisin and spice that are distinctly not syrupy or heavy. Feels thick, but there's enough acidity to cut through the wine's weight. Flavors of caramel and chocolate are ideal, and the finish is smooth, not heavy, and has bounce in its step. A beautiful PX any way you cut it. Editors' Choice. abv: 16%. (Apr 2012)"

100% Palomino. El Maestro Sierra was founded in 1830 by Jose Antonio Sierra, a master carpenter who was responsible for building barrels for all the major Sherry houses. Although the trade was dominated by the Spanish nobility, he established a small winery and over time was able to become one of the top Almacenistas of high quality Sherries. Aged in American oak barrels for 12 years, this dry, elegant sherry offers bold aromas and flavors of toasted almonds and sea salt with soft undertones of fruit and oak.

'100 Best Buys of 2009' and 92 points Wine & Spirits: "[$13 list] This subtle, delicate Fino has aromas and flavors of salty almonds and limestone. The texture is ethereal while the flavors project over the palate, taking on briny, mineral depths. Ideal with pickled sardines. (Jun 2009)"
Peñín Guide: "(Palomino 100%) Colour: bright yellow. Nose: pungent, saline, floral, neat, complex. Palate: spicy, long, fine bitter notes, balanced. (2009)"
*** Recommended, F. Paul Pacult (Spirit Journal): "[$13/375ml list] Very pale tarnished silver/ecru color; flawless clarity. Emits clean, sawdust-like aromas of wood plank, yeast, and beer; after aeration, the bouquet turns piny and sap-like. Entry is sour, astringent, cleansing, and austere; midpalate shows a touch more yeast/dough to lend some substance to the overall flavor profile. Ends lean, crisp, and like sourdough bread. Nice. (Sep 2009)"
Producer notes: "Fine, concentrated aromas of brine mingling with yeast and wood. The rich mouth feel and freshness reveal a complex multidimensional wine. Vine age: 10-60 years. Vinification: Soleara ageing for four years. Serving temperature: 45 deg F. Production: 1,800 cases."

Producer notes: "The tradition of Sangre y Trabajadero goes back to the 1910s. An old cooper whose shop was located in Puerto de Santa Maria's meat market put some of his barrels to personal use by making his own Oloroso. He would share his Oloroso with the butchers who were his neighbors and eventually named it in their honor: 'Blood and the Worker' or Sangre y Trabajadero. Tasting Notes: Nutty, rich aromas. The palate is almost sweet with nutty flavors and hints of the nearby ocean."
Peñín Guide: "(palomino). Colour: light mahogany. Nose: creamy oak, roasted almonds, spicy, fruit liqueur notes. Palate: powerful, flavourful, spirituous. (2013)"

88 points Peñín Guide: "(100% palomino) Colour: bright straw. Nose: dried flowers, saline, dry nuts. Palate: long, powerful, flavourful, rich. (2013)"
***/Recommended, F. Paul Pacult (Spirit Journal): "Solid 9-carat gold/flax color; unblemished purity. Smells curiously yet alluringly of rubber pencil eraser and baked bread, even under-ripened grapes; the aroma 'flat-lines' following six more minutes of air contact; I move on. Entry features tart, desert dry tastes of shale/limestone and sour pears; midpalate offers a trace more flavor depth in the forms of salty brine and green olive. Finishes cleanly, medium astringent, and refreshing. (Sep 2009)"
Wine Spectator: "A fruity manzanilla, straightforward and moderately concentrated, with a lightweight frame and walnut aftertaste."

90 points Jay Miller (Wine Advocate): "The 2007 Crianza spent 15 months in French and American oak. It is a step up aromatically with alluring scents of wood smoke, cigar box, incense, balsamic, and assorted black fruits. Elegant on the palate, it has a velvety texture, intense flavors, and excellent balance. Give it 1-2 years to fully blossom and drink it from 2011 to 2019. (Apr 2010)"
