Lithe and precise, with excellent finishing clarity and lingering floral notes. This suave, seamless wine would work with light as well as with richer foods, or all by itself. (Sep 2012)"

Blomberg replanted this ancient vineyard site in 2000, the vines now certified organic by Galicia’s Craega. The 2011 ripened to crisp litchi and pear flavors, tense with jasmine scents and hints of peppermint. It’s fruity and refreshing, a wine to chill for mariscos. (Oct 2012)"

Linear citrus and pit fruit flavors are tightly wound and well focused, with a hint of white pepper adding back-end bite. Clean and energetic on the dry, persistent finish, which strongly repeats the citrus and mineral notes. (Sep/Oct 2011)"
89 points Wine & Spirits: "[$22 list] With Nosis's characteristic style, this is a lively and refreshing, citrusy and lightly herbal white with a creamy texture. It's full of rich lime and almond flavors to enjoy as an aperitif. (Oct 2011)"

Supple and round in the mouth, offering juicy tropical fruit flavors and a bracing note of lemon zest. The floral note comes back on the long, broad finish. (Sep 2012)"
89 points Robert Parker: "...reveals loads of tropical fruit, white peach, honeysuckle and apricot notes along with medium body and a fresh, lively style. The crisp acid and abundant fruit make this a hedonistic, crowd-pleasing, dry white to drink over the next 1-2 years. (Jun 2012)"
Burgans is made at the famous Bodega Martín Códax by Luciano Almoedo, perhaps the biggest advocate of the Albariño varietal in Spain. Luciano was extremely influential in obtaining worldwide recognition for not only the varietal, but also Rías Baixas. Today, the Bodega has grown considerably and is known as one of the most progressive in the zone. The use of wood is definitively eschewed at the Bodega in order to preserve the natural lift and minerality of the grapes. As such, the wines are fermented and aged in stainless steel with light lees stirring. The wine is blended by Eric Solomon, working in concert with the property, and is bottled in the spring after harvest.

88 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "($16 list) Light greenish-yellow. Musky lemon and pear on the nose, with subtle floral and mineral qualities. Juicy and a touch grapey, offering deep yellow plum and pear flavors, with a bitter lemon pith note on the back. A chewy wine that packs a lot of flavor and finishes with dry, mineral-driven citrus and floral character. (Oct 2008)"

One of the finest Albariños on the market, Quinta de Couselo's Turonia is yellow in color with greenish sparkles, clean and luminous. Good aromatic intensity, with a seamless integration of green fruit (pear, apple), flowers (acacia, eucalyptus) and lactic fermentation notes. Very balanced, long and round, dominating aromas of green apple and kiwi are followed by a firm finish with a follow-through carrying balsamic and eucalyptus overtones.

Finishes with good breadth and cling. (Sep/Oct 2011)"
Producer notes: "Pale yellow with green hues, brilliant. High aromatic intensity, with aromas reminiscent of white fruits and citrus (grapefruit skin). Firm, lively and intense, with racy citrus flavors and a subtle mineral component. This pure, precise Cava finishes with very good energy and length. (Nov 2011)"
90 points Robert Parker: "This is basically the equivalent of a grower sparkling wine in Spain. A low dosage is based on a solera system going back to 1870! Composed of Chardonnay and Xarella, it exhibits crisp, minerally notes intermixed with hints of orange rind, brioche and lemon zest, light to medium body, and a chalky character. Cavas have come of age and are better than ever, and this impressive, boutique version is well worth trying. It should provide pleasure for several years. (Jun 2012)"
Importer notes: "[$24 list] Gramona's history is long and storied and the property has been a quality reference point in the zone for decades. As far back as 1816 a member of the family has been making wine in the Penedes. At Gramona, time is never an issue. The wines receive perhaps the longest average ageing than any other cava and are never released until they are pristine. 70% of the cavas produced in the zone are released after 9 months. Gramona ages a minimum of 18 months, and an average of 4 years. The Gran Cuvée Brut 2008 is 50% xarel-lo, 30% chardonnay, and 20% macabeo. Aged by methode champenoise: base wine aged for one year in French oak, second fermentation in the bottle with 30 months on the lees."

Fresh pear and tangerine aromas are brightened by white pepper and dusty minerals. Juicy, nicely focused citrus and orchard fruit flavors show good clarity and breadth, with no excess fat. Finishes slightly loose, with gentle spiciness and good cling. (Sep/Oct 2011)"
Until recently, very few wines from the Ribeiro DO in northwest Galicia reached the international market. However, this is starting to change, as improvements in winemaking technology and quality have improved, particularly with white varieties such as Treixadura, Godello and Albariño. This blend of 40% Treixadura, 20% Albariño, 20% Godello and 20% Loureira is pale yellow in color, clean, clear and bright. Strong, fruity varietal character on the nose. Intense notes of lemon/citrus, mango, melon, quince and yellow flowers. Light- to medium-bodied. Crisp, with good acidity, fruity and persistent. A very food friendly wine.

87 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "[$15 list] Mainly Viura blended with Malvasia and Garnacha Blanca, the 2011 Barrel-fermented Blanco remains on its lees for three months in Allier French oak. It has a subtle, vanilla and almond-scented bouquet with fine definition. The palate is well-balanced with coconut and almond on the entry. I discerned a slight honeyed tincture and a pleasing creamy, patisserie finish. Drink now-2016. (8/31/12)"
Producer notes: "90% Viura and 10% Malvasia. The weather conditions were positive for the aromatic expression of the wine, with hints of pears and ripe apples adorned with shrub land herbs and spices as well as pastries. It is only at the second level that the typical citrus and green apple character which has typified this wine in other years begins to appear. It is a pleasant wine to drink, thanks to its limited sharpness, giving a sensation of silky fullness. It coats the sides of the mouth and finishes with a canned peach and ripe pineapple aftertaste. In the retronasal phase the peach and ripe pineapple continue to be to the fore with reminders of lavender and thyme."

Importer notes: "70% Merseguera, 25% Malvasía, 5% Viognier. Age of vines: 28 years. Farming: Sustainable with organic practices. Mustiguillo’s mission is to protect indigenous varietals and nurture them into fascinating wines. In September of 2010, Bodegas Mustiguillo became Valencia's first winery with the 'Vino de Pago' designation - and one of only eleven in the entire country. This small, charming winery was built on the site of a former stable and has become the star of the Utiel-Requena. Merseguera is equivalent to Jumilla’s Escanavella."

This wine's blend of richness and vivacity is impressive. (Oct/Nov 2011)"
91 points Jay Miller (Wine Advocate): "The 2010 Louro is also 100% Godello aged for 8 months in foudre. Fragrant minerals, fennel, and white fruits lead to a creamy textured, richly fruity palate. Best known as a producer of excellent red wines, Bodegas Valduero also makes one white wine from a little known grape called Albillo. Just 2% of the estate vineyards at Bodegas Valduero are planted to Albillo. Yunquera is made from 100% Albillo fermented in stainless steel and allowed to rest on its lees to give the wine weight and textural richness. It displays citrus blossom aroma with additional notes of fresh green herbs, petrol and bees wax on a firm mineral foundation. A perfect white wine for cooler weather and richer meals.
