96 points Wine Spectator: "Gorgeous aromas of blueberries and dried flowers follow through to a sweet, full-bodied palate. Velvety and round, with lovely fruit. Long finish. Best after 2015."
93 points Pierre Rovani (Wine Advocate): "[$75 list] The 2003 Croft Vintage Port reveals an opaque, black-colored core with notes of dark ruby on the rim. Its gorgeously creamy, profound nose displays sweet dark cherries, black plums, pepper, raisin jam, and blueberries. Thick, satin-textured, and immensely rich, this opulent yet elegant wine is engagingly warm, concentrated, and harmonious. Copious quantities of plums, black cherries, jammy blackberries and spices are found throughout its personality as well as in its prolonged, spirit-tinged, finish. Projected maturity: 2020-2045."

95 points Wine Spectator: "Redolent of blackberry and dark fruits, this also features a fascinating mix of mocha, graphite and tobacco. Very juicy as well, which features into the finish of fine-grained tannins and spice. An exuberant and refined Vintage Port. Best from 2020 through 2050. (4/30/12)"
93 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Croft has a very pure pretty bouquet with ripe blueberry and dark plum-scented bouquet. Fine definition although not quite as complex as I remember the 2007 at the same stage. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, supple tannins, moderate acidity, harmonious with a plush blackberry, crème de cassis and spice-tinged finish. Good potential, although I think the 2007 has an intellectual edge. (May 2011)"
93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Based on the Roêda vineyard, this opulent, fruity wine is dense, beautifully ripe, a powerhouse of sweet fruit, figs and raisins, plum jelly and the roundest, most generous tannins. It's a wine that will show well in the next few years, but which should age magnificently. abv: 20%. (Apr 2012)"
(The Tasting Panel): "Blueberry and plum on the nose, a touch of eucalyptus and tobacco. Medium-bodied, silky tannins and moderate acidity framing cassis, berries and spice. Acidity lifts the jammy finish. Best 2020 through 2050. (May 2013)"

93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "[$90 list] Full saturated ruby. Inky, brooding aromas of syrupy black fruits and violet. Dense, thick and tactile, with superb depth of flavor and compelling juicy sweetness. Finishes with powerful tannins and superb grip. Not as flamboyantly aromatic as this wine normally is in its youth, but structured for long, slow development in bottle. (May/Jun 2000)"

95 points Wine Spectator: "Gorgeously vibrant and grapey, with good cut to the luscious dark fruit and cedar flavors that are flanked by zesty acidity and tannins. A touch brooding midpalate, with a minerally rush and a finish of slate and iron. Best from 2016 through 2036. (7/31/12)"
95 points Wine Enthusiast: "A classic Fonseca, rich and powerful, with just an extra edge of weight from the vintage. It has a dry character, a tannic edge that gives great promise, but the open-hearted fruit is all there. A wonderfully intense wine for aging. Cellar Selection. abv: 20.5%. (Apr 2012)"
93 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "The Fonseca 2009 has a very ripe sweet prune and fig-tinged bouquet that is very precocious. Touches of smoke, raisin and dark plum begin to emerge with time, though it needs to evolve a little more cohesion. The palate is full-bodied with saturated tannins, luscious dark berried fruit, touches of pomegranate, fig and dates that lead to a gently grippy, persistent finish. This is a fine Fonseca, but I wanted it to give me more flamboyance and brio. (May 2011)"
93 points and 'Top 100 Wines of 2012,' Wine & Spirits: "The voluptuous 2009 vintage seems to play right into Fonseca’s house style, creating a cool, concentrated wine. There’s a schisty grip of tannins and a fine cut of acidity to balance chewy blueberry jam flavors. Darker notes of roasted black cherries and brighter strawberry layer detail into the finish. A delicious young Porto, this will probably be at its peak 20 years from the vintage. (Dec 2011)"
(The Tasting Panel): "On the nose, fig, plu, spice and a touch of smoke. Full-bodied in the mouth. Grippy tannins around dark fruit, chcolate and fig. Tannins persist on the long, jammy finish. Best 2016 to 2038. (May 2013)"
Producer notes: "Impenetrable black colour. A classic Fonseca nose dominated by an exuberant, hedonistic fruitiness, a powerful redolence of dark dense blackberry and blackcurrant which slowly releases a heady mix of spicy and herbal aromas, seductive notes of coffee and cocoa, hints of prune and wild scents of gumcistus. The thick velvety tannins give the wine a voluptuous density, integrating effortlessly with the sumptuous infusion of blackberry jam, dark chocolate and liquorice which coats the palate. The tannins are also present on the finish which brims with blackberry and blackcurrant flavour."

95 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$102 list] Remarkably, this is able to show age and long cask aging, but the flavor is still here: figs and honey, balanced out with burnt caramel aged acidity and a rich (but not sweet) finish. Excellent, top quality aged tawny. Editor's Choice (Nov 2007)."

94 points Wine Spectator: "[$58 list] Elegant, creamy and full of silky tannins, this voluptuous Port offers flavors of violet, plum and blackberry, with hints of golden raisin. The plush finish features spice, chocolate and butterscotch notes. Best from 2016 through 2036. 1,500 cases made. (4/30/12)"
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$58 list] A rich vintage of the ripe Malvedos style. It has great blackberry jam flavors, laced with just the right amount of tannins and an extra burst of ripe, sweet fruit. For medium-term aging. (12/31/11)"
Producer notes: "The quality of the wines from the Malvedos vineyard is such that in Vintage declarations these wines provide the main structure for Graham’s classic Vintage Ports. In most of the interim years, the wines from Malvedos will merit bottling as a single estate, or ‘single quinta’ Vintage Port -- from a single harvest. Graham’s Malvedos Vintage Ports admirably show the Graham’s house style with their expressive floral characteristics, opulent black berry fruit flavours and racy flair. They are usually more approachable when young than classic Vintage Ports and therefore make an excellent alternative to the latter -- while one waits for these to fully mature."

95 points Wine Spectator: "Complex aromas of crushed berries, pepper and spices. Full-bodied, with medium sweetness and layers of polished tannins. Masses of berry, plum and citrus character. This single-vineyard Port is always superb. Best after 2014. (4/30/06)"
93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "[$78 list] Full ruby. Pure, sexy aromas of black fruits, minerals and spice cake. Concentrated, superrich and impressively structured; a sweet, dense, primary wine with terrific depth and breadth. Offers intriguing hints of woodsmoke and pomegranate, and conveys a strong sense of extract. The vibrant finish features compellingly sweet tannins and a whiplash of black cherry and licorice flavor. A great showing already, but this should reward 12 to 15 years of aging. (Jan/Feb 2006)"

93 points Wine & Spirits: "[$120 list] Porto 30-Year-Old Tawny At a beautiful moment in its evolution, this blend has a lingering richness. The aromas are deep, complex and heady; the flavors of fresh apricot and nutmeats bring Douro almonds to mind. While the texture is luscious, light tannins keep it tight and firm. For fireside conversation. (Dec 2008)"

96 points and 'Top 100 Cellar Selections 2012 (#36),' Wine Enthusiast: "Fladgate's vintage Ports are always among the legendary wines. This hugely structured wine keeps the dense, perfumed tradition very much alive. Along with the power, it also has wonderful fruit, bursting out with blackberry jam. Even with all the fruitiness, it needs to age for decades. Cellar Selection. abv: 20.5%. (Apr 2012)"
95 points Neal Martin (Wine Advocate): "Going back and forth, the Taylor’s 2009 has a lighter nose than the 2007 with precise dark cherry, Seville orange, fresh fig and a hint of scorched soil. The palate is full-bodied packed with ripe black cherries, fresh fig and white pepper; very harmonious and focused although I feel that the 2007 has a little more depth and persistency. Very pretty and very pure, this Taylor’s may well put on weight with a couple of years in bottle and merit a higher mark. (May 2011)"
94 points Wine Spectator: "Intensely fruity and dripping with luscious dark cherry, blackberry and blueberry flavors, leading to touches of sandalwood. Medium-grained tannins carry through to the lush, spice- and chocolate-filled finish. This shows fine grip and balance, with a very modern feel. Best from 2020 through 2045... (4/30/12)"

'Top 100 Wine of 1997 (#15)' and 95 points Wine Spectator: "A great surprise for the vintage. Displays fabulous concentration and complex character with it's layers of very sweet fruit, chocolate and cherry aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins. Long finish with plenty of grip. Beautiful wine. Best after 2008. (4/30/97)"
94 points Robert Parker: "One of the finest Warres I have ever tasted, this opaque purple-colored wine is made in a drier style (a la Dow), yet it is expressive, extremely full-bodied, with superb richness, purity, and well-integrated alcohol and tannin. It possesses a great mid-palate as well as impressive length. Tasters should take note of the wealth of peppery, licorice-scented and flavored raspberry and blackcurrant fruit. Look for it to be ready to drink in 10-12 years, and keep for 30+. This is a profound example of Warre vintage port. (Oct 1996)"
5 stars, Michael Broadbent's Pocket Vintage Wine Companion: "...the most intensely dark of all the Symington '94s; typical resinous nose, lovely flavour, perfect balance, good length. Drink: now-2030. (2007)"

93 points Pierre Rovani (Wine Advocate): "[$85 list] Black pepper, sealing wax, spices, and toast are found in the nose of the potentially exceptional 2003 Warre Vintage Port. A concentrated, backward effort, its youthful, classically ungenerous, masculine character reveals black pepper laced dark fruits. Silky-textured in its immensely endowed mid-palate, this top-flight effort displays an admirably long, tannin-filled finish. It will require serious cellaring. Projected maturity: 2030-2050. (Oct 2005)"
93 points Wine & Spirits: "Beautifully perfumed with brilliant florals, spicy scents of esteva and cinnamon bark, this is a great young vintage Warre's. It's luscious and chocolate-rich in the middle, then classically gripping in the end. The spiciness lasts, as does the potent depth of fruit, buffering the heat of the wine. This should be accessible early on, yet it has the structure to last years. Drink 2015-'30. (Dec 2005)"
92 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Deep ruby. Brooding aromas of blackberry, black cherry, licorice and bitter chocolate. Broad, dense and deep, with compelling purity, lift and sweetness and captivating flavors of black cherry, dark chocolate and minerals. Finishes with broad, sweet tannins and superb chewiness and length. Has the structure and depth for extended cellaring. (Jan/Feb 2006)"
