93 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino is a gorgeous wine laced with red cherries, tobacco, cedar and underbrush, all supported by a firm tannic spine. Argiano’s 2006 Brunello shows beautiful inner perfume and the structure to develop positively for a number of years. Floral notes appear on the vibrant, polished finish. The estate’s Brunello spent 12 months in French oak (which is mostly felt in the wine’s textural richness) and completed its aging in cask. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (May 2011)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "[$66 list] Rich, with a glycerol feel to the texture, showing plum, cherry, tobacco and black tea notes, all backed by a solid structure. The acidity and tannins shore this up as the finish glides on. Best from 2013 through 2025. 1,000 cases made. (4/20/11)"
92 points James Suckling: "What a nose with perfumes, blueberries and blackberries. Very perfumed. Full body, with fine tannins and a bright acidity. Love the silky texture to the wine. Wonderfully polished texture. Best after 2013. (1/15/11)"
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "Argiano offers an elegant aromatic combination of red fruit, spicy barbecue and polished mineral. This unique expression delivers a toned, streamlined mouthfeel that will not overwhelm the pasta or meat dishes it is paired with. (Apr 2011)"
18.5/20 points Stephen Brook (The World of Fine Wine): "(14% ABV) Rich black-cherry nose, with a hint of licorice. Rich and quite dense, with good weight of fruit and imposing tannins. This is somber and a bit grippy, but initial charm is not a prerequisite of good Brunello. The concentration is formidable, but it doesn't seem heavy-handed or overextracted. There's sufficient acidity to give the wine ageability, and the finish is surprisingly suave and seductive. Very long. (Issue #33; 2011)"

93 points James Suckling: "Love the flowers, ripe berries and minerals on the nose here. Light dried fruits too. Dried porcini! Full bodied, round and fruity, with a decadent and fruity finish. Try in 2013. (1/15/11)"
91 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino is a pretty, mid-weight offering graced with crushed flowers, dried cherries, spices and sweet herbs. Menthol, licorice and roses add complexity on the high-toned, feminine finish. Already pretty approachable, the estate’s 2006 Brunello looks to be an excellent choice for near and mid-term drinking. The Brunello spent 36 months in large Slavonian and French oak casks. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2024. (May 2011)"
16/20 points Andrew Jefford (The World of Fine Wine): "(14% ABV) Clear black-red. Graceful, enticing, and creamy, this is a Brunello of ballerina-like aromatic appeal, with lots of almost resinous lift over a softly sweet, almost chocolaty undertow. Deep, pure, long; engaging, concentrated, and focused. A wine of immense poise and charm, in which the aromatic constituents infuse the weight (medium-bodied, no more) of fruit in the mouth. A very assured performance and treacherously easy to drink. Not quite the heights of ambition, and there is a faint drying as the foot comes off the pedal at the end of the palate, but the bottles of this wine will provide immense pleasure over the next decade. (Issue #33; 2011)"

96 points James Suckling: "What a nose. The perfect nose of ripe black cherries, spices, toasted oak and flowers. Full body, with velvety tannins, and a berry, cherry and blue berry undertone. What a finish. This shows such beautiful fruit. Leave it for three or four years. Made from organic grapes. (1/15/11)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "Sweet cherry, raspberry, tobacco and licorice aromas and flavors mark this opulent, supple-textured Brunello. This is very open and approachable now, yet there are some chewy tannins underneath. A bit pinched on the finish. Best from 2012 through 2024. (8/31/11)"
93 points Wine Enthusiast: "Here's an austere and sophisticated wine with dark notes of carob, exotic spice, cardamom pod, mesquite smoke and blackberry. The wine is soft, plush and chewy with firm tannins (that could use more time to soften) and a playful touch of acidity on the close. Cellar Selection. (Apr 2011)"

Three Glasses, Gambero Rosso (2013).
95 points James Suckling: "Aromas of blueberries and bacon and hints of wet earth. Full body, with velvety and round tannins and a juicy finish. Wonderful finish of fruit and meat. Opulent and soft. Better in 2014. Best Fanti since 2001. (1/25/12)"
93 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$70 list] This fine and delicate Brunello shows soft elegance and sophistication in the form of cassis, wild berry, white pepper, root beer, toasted nut and cigar tobacco. The mouthfeel is firm and clean, with elements of tannic structure and fresh acidity that work well together. The oak element still needs time to integrate. Alcohol 15.0%. (May 2012)"
91 points Wine Spectator: "A big, rich style, boasting plum, soy and tobacco aromas and flavors. Features good acidity and firm tannins that bode well for development, with just a touch of heat on the finish. Best from 2014 through 2028. 400 cases imported. (6/6/12)"

95 points James Suckling: "Frescobaldi’s Brunello always delivers great quality in just about any vintage. Gorgeous nose of ripe berries and slice plums with an almost peach undertone. Full bodied, with a solid core of gorgeously clean and clear dark fruits. Dense and integrated tannins on the finish. So long and fascinating. Best after 2013. (1/15/11)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "This red starts out ripe and accessible, boasting plum, cherry and chocolate flavors, then turns firm and tight on the finish, where tobacco and mineral notes take over. I like the potential of this when it integrates more fully. Best from 2014 through 2024. (8/31/11)"
93 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$72 list] Castelgiocondo's Brunello aptly represents the new face of Montalcino with its plump, ell-extracted and modern style. The wine is packed with soft black cherry, chocolate and coffee aromas and shows a smooth, long-lasting finish. (Apr 2011)"
18.5/20 points Stephen Brook (The World of Fine Wine): "(13.5% ABV) Robust and ripe black-cherry-and-blackberry nose. Ripe and rounded, sumptuous in texture, yet there's no trace of jamminess. Tannic and spicy, yet the components, acidity included, seem in balance. A suave hedonistic style that's already accessible but clearly has the structure to age well. Hard to fault and has complexity and impressive length. (Issue #33; 2011)"

95 points James Suckling: "Blueberries, flowers and raspberries. Love the nose, like so many others. Full body, with fine tannins and a silky textured finish. So much going on here. Class. Best after 2013. (1/15/11)"
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "La Poderina's Brunello shows impressive balance between its bright fruit and sassy spice components. On the close, the wine exhibits a tight, firm and penetrating feel that is carried forth by acidity and the natural firmness of the tannins. (Apr 2011)"
17.5/20 points Stephen Brook (The World of Fine Wine): "(13.5% ABV) Sumptuous black-fruit nose, lush and hedonistic. Rich and plump, with good concentration and acidity. Very ripe but has ample tannic grip and structure. Clearly youthful and a touch raw, but it's vivacious and puppy-like. The fruit is solid and seamless, but it's not monolithic; indeed, it's nuanced and subtle and complex. The excellent length makes this a persuasive wine, but it will take a few years for it to become fully expressive. (Issue #33; 2011)"

94 points James Suckling: "A decadent and ultra-rich red, with plum tart, prunes, cooked meat and berries. Full bodied, with soft and silky tannins and a long, flavorful finish. An aromatically beautiful wine. Best after 2012. (1/15/11)"
93 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$60 list] The 2006 Brunello di Montalcino from Poggio Il Castellare is a dark, inward wine imbued with dark cherries, plums, tar, smoke, licorice and new leather, all of which come together on a powerful, incisive frame. This burly, somewhat rough around the edges Brunello shows plenty of length and richness, even if the tannins might benefit from a measure of added polish. Still, I see this working well with boldly flavored dishes. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024. (May 2011)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "A beauty, with terrific integration of its floral, cherry, plum and tart notes, all backed by a steely structure. The elements are there and the tannins will be absorbed in time. Long, spicy finish. Best from 2013 through 2026. (5/25/11)"
91 points Wine Enthusiast: "This is a very smooth and polished wine with good density, length and squeaky-clean feel on the palate. The wine's texture is fine and smooth with buoyant aromas of wild berry, forest floor and root beer that keep the intensity alive. (Apr 2011)"

93 points Wine Spectator: "Pretty floral and strawberry aromas and flavors announce this medium-weight red. Roasted almond, underbrush and tobacco accents add dimension, and this is vivid and lingers on the finish. Best from 2014 through 2032. 2,000 cases made. (5/30/12)"
93 points James Suckling: "Aromas of dried cherries and blueberries with hints of lavender. Nuts too. Full bodied, with dense fruit and velvety tannins. Pure fruit here lots of everything. Really builds on the palate. Citrus rind after taste. Give it two to three years to soften. (1/15/11)"

95 points James Suckling: "Loads of sweet berry and cherry on the nose with hints of flowers. Amazing nose. Full body, with super silky tannin structure and a long caressing finish. Integrated and refined. It just keeps building on the palate. Bigger and bigger, yet refined and gorgeous. Give this some bottle age to show its true quality. (1/15/11)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "[$58 list] If you like the vanilla, toast and spice notes of new oak, this red is for you. Behind the wood, notes of black cherry, tar and tobacco mingle. This is dense and tannic, with a long spicy finish. Best from 2013 through 2026. (8/31/11)"
