This Sangiovese begins with a fabulous bouquet of red cherry, plum and other ripe red fruit along with some nice spice and succulent smoked meat. This medium-bodied wine features nice fresh juicy fruit, good spice and some smoked meat notes that continue from the bouquet. The finish is dry, fruity, spicy and delicious with some lingering smoky notes. This is a really easy to drink and delicious wine that would be fabulous for pizza night. 13.5% alcohol. Packaged in an environmentally conscious Tetra Pack and from organically farmed vineyards.

91 points James Suckling: "Aromas similar to pineapple ice cream and apples follow through to a full body, with lots of fruit and firm acidity. Delicious now, but better in 2012. Biodynamically produced. Blend of Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay. (1/3/12)"
90 points Wine Enthusiast: "[$90 list] This oak-aged blend of equal parts Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay opens with a beautifully intense bouquet of vanilla bean, peach cobbler and citrus mousse. White almond and toasted spice make for rich accents on the long fresh finish. Alcohol 13.5%. 1,250 cases produced. (Mar 2012)"
The Fines Wines of Tuscany: "Querciabella's remarkable white wine, a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc, is one of Tuscany's few top-quality whites. Capable of improving in bottle for up to five or six years in a good vintage, it has lost its early overoakiness and is now a rival to Burgundy in style, though curiously it is sold in a Bordeaux bottle. (2009)"

This baby Supertuscan "Citto' or 'young boy,' is a blend of declassified juice from Chianti Classico with Cabernet Sauvignon from Volpaia's Maremma property. 65% Sangiovese and 35% Cabernet. The Sangiovese provides the telltale Tuscan red and black cherry flavor profile, while the Cabernet provides the muscle. Vivid ruby in color. Aromas of ripe red fruit, leather and grilled meat on the nose lead to sour cherry on the palate with a firm backbone of acidity and grippy, young tannins. Perfect with roasted or grilled meats and pasta with red sauce. Drink 2012-2016.
