Two Glasses, Gambero Rosso: "...Bovio also vinifies fruit from the superb Bricco Parussi vineyard at Castiglione Falletto. These Barolos have a classic style that foregrounds fruit over oak, which is barely perceptible in the first few years in bottle. (2012)"

90 points Wine Enthusiast: "Smoky notes of mesquite and teriyaki are blended nicely with delicate berry notes and a drying mineral feel. This is a classic and subdued Nebbiolo that would pair with veal scallopini enhanced by a drop of truffle oil. (Sep 2011)"
Two Glasses, Gambero Rosso: "Bovio began making wine in 1976 and the results have been increasingly convincing, thanks in no small part to the passionate commitment of cellar manager Walter Porasso... These Barolos have a classic style that foregrounds fruit over oak which is barely perceptible in the first few years in bottle. (2012)"

Two Glasses, Gambero Rosso: "Barolo Gattera, from vines an average of 70 years old, aged for 30 months in 15 to 20-hectolitre barrels and has a spectacular fruit-lifted nose of rose and violet-led florality. The austere palate has sweet but beefy tannins, good flesh and a lingering finiish. (2009)"

91 points Wine Enthusiast: "You’ll love the smoked bacon and bresaola notes that emerge at the top of this deep bouquet. At the back are notes of ripe fruit, black cherry, dusty mineral and exotic spice. The wine offers a tight and compact feel with a long, smooth finish. (Sep 2011)"

98 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2007 Barolo Ciabot Mentin is one of the greatest wines I have ever tasted at this address. Deep, sensual layers of fruit flow from the glass as this full-throttle, intense Barolo reveals its profound, breathtaking personality. The 2007 shows tons of Ginestra nuance, but with extra dimensions to the fruit that literally covers every nook and cranny of the palate. Tasting this next to the 2006 is quite a comparison, as both wines are fabulous. Readers who can should be sure to own bottles of both. A side-by-side comparison is sure to be fascinating as the wines develop over the coming years. Astute readers will note the slight name change here, which is the result of new regulations that require the use of the historic vineyard name, in this case Ginestra, or a proprietary name. Call me nostalgic, but it is sad to see one of the iconic labels in Barolo disappear. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2027. (Feb 2011)"
95 points James Suckling: "Full bodied, with velvety tannins and milk chocolate, and nutmeg character, with hints of hazelnut. Balanced and attractive. Best after 2015. (5/6/11)"

95 points Wine Spectator: "Strawberry pie and cream aromas lead to a full-bodied palate. Very thick and powerful, with big, velvety tannins and masses of fruit. A blockbuster style. Best after 2013. 750 cases made. (7/31/09)"
93 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The estate’s 2005 Barolo Cicala is a transparent, mid-weight wine redolent of dark fruit, spices, minerals and licorice, all of which come together in the glass with superb elegance. Here the tannins are decidedly firmer and bigger than in the Colonello, even though the vineyards are just a few hundred meters apart! This powerful yet harmonious wine is simply radiant in its beauty. All that it needs is a little patience. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2025. (Apr 2009)"
92 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "[$186/750ml list; the first vintage for this wine since 2001, as this vineyard was hailed on in 2004) Good full medium red. Wild aromas of redcurrant, black cherry, tar and leather; this smells tannic but the fruit element expands impressively as the wine opens in the glass. Then large-scaled and firm in the mouth, with powerful acidity currently suppressing the wine's sweetness. There's a boatload of fruit here, but today the wine's mineral and gamey elements dominate. In a very traditional style, and completely different from the Colonnello: more backward and more masculine (Conterno refers to it as "our rude boy"). The serious tannins build with air and currently cut off the wine's finishing fruit. (Nov/Dec 2009)"

Three Glasses, Gambero Rosso: "Barolo Cascina Francia 2004... has a generously spacious bouquet, combining austerity and fruit on the palate, and judiciously balancing the tannins with acidity to provide a flavoursome finish that reprises the aromas. (2009)"
97 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2004 Barolo Cascina Francia is an explosive wine that faithfully captures all of the promise it showed from barrel. This spectacularly rich, concentrated Barolo possesses striking perfume in its smoke, tar, spiced red fruits, licorice and flowers. The wine offers tremendous length and a finish that lasts forever. This is an especially dense, powerful Cascina Francia with a gorgeous core of perfumed sweet fruit that will require some time to fully emerge but is breathtakingly beautiful even at this early stage. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2029. (Dec 2007)"
95 points Wine News: "Intense floral nose with earthy notes of mint and licorice. Rich flavors of mouthwatering strawberry and cherry, powerfully structured and neatly balanced with vibrant tannins. Closes on clean mineral note. Very impressive. Best after 2012. (Oct/Nov 2008)"
91-94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Good full red. Reduced, musky nose dominated by pungent dried herbs. Then suave and firm on the palate but silky, with a distinctly sappy quality to the dark fruit, mineral, floral and graphite flavors. The cooler herbal note carries through in the mouth, giving this young wine real lift. Lush in texture without being really fat, with the very pure finishing flavors mounting impressively. (Nov/Dec 2007)"

95 points James Suckling: "Aromas are full of plums and lemons that follow through to a full body, with silky tannins and a fruity, bright finish. A pretty combination of ripe fruit and crisp acidity. Need two years to come together. Triumph for the vintage. Try in 2013. (9/20/11)"

96 points Wine Spectator: "[$300/750ml list] An elegant, fruity style, boasting raspberry, cherry and floral aromas and flavors. This is pure and delicate for the commune, with fine intensity, finesse and depth. The tannins mesh beautifully with the wine's silky texture, ending with an excellent finish. Just surprisingly open and approachable. Best from 2014 through 2032. 1,500 cases made. (12/15/11)"
94 points James Suckling: "Dried strawberries, with hints of flowers. Full bodied, with clean fruit and polished tannins. Very fruity. Need a couple of years to soften. Reminds me of the 1997. (5/6/11)"
94+ points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2007 Barolo Falletto is an overachieving wine, even at this high level. The bouquet has a level of delineation, sweetness, inner perfume and nuance generally only found in Giacosa’s Red Label Riservas. The Falletto impresses for the intensity of its dark fruit and superb overall balance. The extroverted personality of the vintage is quite evident, especially as the wine sits in the glass. Menthol, flowers and licorice add the final notes of complexity on the finish. This is an especially racy Barolo from Bruno Giacosa, but the trademark elegance is there. Anticipated maturity: 2017-2032. (Feb 2011)"

94 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2003 Barolo Le Rocche del Falletto is a fascinating wine. It is classic Giacosa, with a lovely core of sweet roses, raspberries, licorice and menthol that is currently hiding under an imposing wall of tannins. It is also a wine of contrasts, at times open and accessible, at others brooding and shut down. As it sits in the glass the fruit gradually emerges to fill out the wine’s structure. It had only improved when I re-tasted it several days after first opening the bottle. That said, it will require further cellaring to soften the tannins, as the wine has shut down considerably since bottling. Made from the heart of the Falletto vineyard, it clearly benefits from the age of the vines in these selected plots. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2023. (Oct 2007)"
Gambero Rosso: "Le Rocche del Falletto... managed to overcome the main obstacles of the 2003 vintage, showing very pleasant and at the same time already incredibly ready to drink. (2008)"

100 points James Suckling: "I tasted this last year and had to put it in this report again after tasting it a couple of weeks ago. This is phenomenal. Clearly perfect with layers of subtle fruit and spices and hints of chocolate. Full and very long. It builds on the palate and goes and goes. Hazelnut and dark fruits. So fresh and bright too. A fabulous and structured red. January 2013 release. 12,000 bottles made. (7/19/12)"
98 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The 2007 Barolo Riserva Le Rocche del Falletto bursts onto the palate with masses of dark fruit. The Riserva is a decidedly dark, brooding wine in this vintage. Scorched earth, smoke, menthol, licorice and new leather flow with marvelous intensity all the way through to the powerful finish. Over time the classic Giacosa bouquet of dried rose petal emerges, rounding out this fabulous effort in grand style. The imposing tannins will require a measure of patience, but the 2007 Riserva is shaping up to be another magnificent, towering Barolo from Bruno Giacosa. Anticipated maturity: 2022-2042. (Feb 2011)"
