Wine Spectator: "[$200/375ml list] Deeply colored, this tastes like baked apples, caramel and spice, in a concentrated, lively frame. It's compact and tangy, with a moderate finish. Drink now through 2010. (2003)"

Auction bottling.
David Schildknecht (International Wine Cellar): "Peach, ginger spice and high-toned maraschino aromas. Cherries and peaches continue to figure on the palate, which features an imposingly liqueur-like intensity, volatility and texture. For all of its upfront intensity, this leads to an elegant, polished, refined and remarkably long finish layering peach, candied citrus, red fruit, nut oils, honey, slate and spice."

94 points Fine Wine Review: "[$70/375ml list] The Bockenauer Felseneck Ausl is bright, mineral and acidity with orange and strawberry aromas and flavors. Give this wine some time to develop, but it is most promising. (Issue #97; 2003)"

93 points Joel B. Payne (International Wine Cellar): "[$135/375ml list] Lemon oil, brioche and candied pineapple are complemented by floral aromas. At once creamy and delicate, with the precision and vibrant acidity I expect from an eiswein. Fine length. (Jan/Feb 2006)"

87+ points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "Vollenweider's dry-tasting 2008 Riesling -- another first-time label-designation at this address, although in this year at least, it comes entirely from the Krower Steffensberg -- smells of pumpkin, yellow plum, sage, nettle and hints of wood smoke. Fresh lemon, tomatillo, and plum skin lend this invigoration, and despite 12% alcohol and a certain sense of substantiality, it exhibits vintage-typical buoyancy. This relatively water-retentive site promotes acid retention -- as strong vintage characteristic anyway -- even when harvested late and at high must weight, as here. I'd plan to enjoy it within 3 years, and it may come to terms more effectively with its acidity even in the short run. (Feb 2010)"

96 points Wine Spectator: "[$245 list] Like a tropical fruit marmalade, this is thick and flavorful and kept lively by moderate acidity. Dominated by the sweetness today, it needs time to show a full range of flavors. Best from 2008 through 2030. 3 cases imported."

95 points Joel Payne (International Wine Cellar): "[$281/375ml list] Musky aromas of peach, butterscotch and cinnamon rise above the botrytis. Full-bodied caramelized fruits overwhelm the palate, only just balanced by the oyster shell salinity. Succulent sweet flavors pervade the finish. This wine still needs time. (Jan/Feb 2006)"
95 points Wine Spectator: "A silky-smooth dessert white, evoking apricot, honey, lemon and spice aromas and flavors. It's concentrated and lively, with fine intensity on a light-bodied profile. It still needs time to reveal all its charms. Drink now through 2040. 25 cases imported. (4/30/06)"

93 points Joel Payne (International Wine Cellar): "[$393 list] High-toned aromas of pear drop, quince and mint. An incredibly dense nectar of sweet pineapple and lime fruits with rapier-like acidity. The intense, salty minerality soars on the finish. Offers outstanding potential, but this may not reach its peach for 20 years."

Importer notes: "Very fine in the nose, with pear fruit and delicate minerality. On the palate the wine's structure is substantial, with very fine details. Very pretty style, so easy and refreshing to drink."
