40% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier, 20% Chardonnay. From the coolest name for a town in the wine biz, Dizy. Many of you are familiar with this producer's "regular" brut, which is by far our best selling bubbly in the store, but this bottling is much less known for the simple reason it's never been imported here before. We talked the local importer into bring some in for us, so it's finally here. A serious, salmon colored rosé loaded with strawberry and cherry.

94 points Wine News: "Light copper-orange hue; active stream of small bubbles. Enticing scents of bread dough, caramel and buttery fragrances. Soft entry with creamy vanilla, a nice balance of grains and light, malty nuances. A cleansing, racy grapefruit-inspired finish with pleasant, sweet overtones. (Dec 2008/Jan 2009)"
93 points Anthony Dias Blue (The Tasting Panel): "Pale pink, juicy, smooth, ripe, and tangy with raspberry; lush and tangy with great depth; racy acidity and seamlessly balanced; lovely. (Dec 2012)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "Bright and elegant, this offers appealing flavors of ripe black cherry, raspberry and orange peel that show hints of toasted raisin bread, anise and sweet smoke. Offers a beautiful texture, with a long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2015. (11/15/11)"
92 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(disgorged June 30, 2010): Light orange. Tangerine, pear and flowers on the nose, which is complicated by a note of fennel. Broad and sappy but dry, with lively orange and strawberry flavors and a subtle note of spice cake. Weightier on the finish, which features an exotic note of spicy herbs. This Champagne’s delicate touch will make it work well with simple seafood dishes or even sashimi. (Dec 2010)"
92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "This wine is a blend of fifty percent chardonnay, thirty percent pinot noir and twenty percent pinot meunier and was aged for fully four years on the fine lees prior to disgorgement and preparation for release. Unlike the house’s straight non-vintage Brut bottling, some of the base wines for the Brut Rosé go through malo. The bouquet on the current release is outstanding, wafting from the glass in a mélange of cherries, orange peel, woodsmoke, warm bread and a lovely base of complex minerality. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and very refined on the attack, with a lovely core, frothy mousse, bright acids and outstanding focus, length and grip on the very elegant and complete finish. Fine, fine juice. 2013-2020+. (Jan/Feb 2013)"
Wall Street Journal: "Unlike many Champagne houses that may turn out a token bottling, rosé is the main focus of Billecart-Salmon. It's a dry, delicate rosé with a lively acidity that makes it a good companion to food -- as well as a great wine for a celebratory toast. (8/6/11)"

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "(served from magnum). I very much like the elegance of this bottling, which probably owes a debt to the fifty percent chardonnay in the blend. Out of magnum, the wine is drinking splendidly, offering up a complex and vibrant bouquet of melon, tangerine, wheat toast, lovely minerality, rose petals and a gentle topnote of smokiness. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very refined, with a lovely core, elegant mousse, crisp acids and a very long, focused and complex finish. I really wish Billecart would join several other serious Grandes Marques in putting dates of disgorgement on the back label, so that one could better gauge when to start popping corks on their lovely non-vintage bottlings. 2013-2025. 92 points Wine Spectator: "An undercurrent of minerality supports ripe black cherry and black raspberry flavors, with hints of pastry, cream and candied grapefruit peel. Finely meshed and focused by vibrant acidity. Disgorged March 2011. Drink now through 2016. (10/19/11)"
92 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The NV Brut Rose Grand Cru is a deeply colored, powerful wine that showcases the richness of Ambonnay at its finest. The Rose needs some time in the glass to find its inner balance, but when it does the fruit gains delineation and intensity through to the dramatic, sweeping finish. The NV Brut Rose Grand Cru is predominantly Pinot Noir (including 6% still Pinot) with a dash of Chardonnay from the estate’s oldest vineyards. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2016. (Dec 2010)"
92 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(the same blend as the Réserve but from older vines and with the addition of 6% still wine from 2004 added; disgorged June, 2010): Pale, orange-pink. Pungent red fruits and dried flowers on the nose, with complicating notes of anise and spice cake. Penetrating redcurrant and bitter cherry flavors are enlivened by blood orange and mineral nuances and pick up a smoky note with air. Lively and precise, with excellent finishing clarity and florality. (Dec 2010)"
92 points Wine News: "Creamy aromas of orange peel, yellow flowers, cinnamon and buttered toast. Sweet-tart flavors of cherry, orange, cedar and chalk show hefty body and graceful balance. Orange marmalade and bread dough wrap up the close. (Dec 2006/Jan 2007)"
The Tasting Panel: "This deeply strawberry colored wine features red raspberry, kiwi and, of all things, a hint of toffee in the mouth (which is probably derived from the barrels used during production). Cherry and red apple eventually show up, especially on the nose. Predominately Pinot Noir, with some Chardonnay. (Apr 2012)"

93 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(Disgorged 2012, a blend of 40% pinot noir and 60% chardonnay, 100% Bouzy terroir, 1250 cases, dosage 9 g/l.) Savès typically makes a relatively deeply colored rosé by the standards of the genre and this latest version is no exception. The cool and distinctly pinot nose also reflects notes of various red berry fruit aromas though notes of yeast are discernible. The delicious, intense and very crisp flavors are underpinned by a fine effervescence that is perfect for the mouth feel of a rosé that is actually much more vinous than most examples, in particular because there is a wonderfully savory quality to the long finish that practically begs for another sip. Lovely stuff that could be enjoyed now or aged, though it is so good presently that I doubt that a case would make it much past a year or so in my cellar. Drink: now+. (Jan 2013)"
93 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "A walkaway favorite in our tastings, this one smells of yeast, toast and all the bakeshop reminiscences that one expects of top Champers and adds in nuanced but evident suggestions of orange peel, Meyer lemon and strawberry. It is explosively bubbled and insistent and stays on the palate forever. This one competes well with the big names. (Dec 2010)"
92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The current release of Camille Savès Brut Rosé is a blend of sixty percent chardonnay and forty percent pinot noir from the village of Bouzy, with twelve percent of this being still pinot noir incorporated into the cuvée. The wine does not undergo malo and was disgorged in January of 2011. The new release is a lovely wine, with a classic deep salmon color and offering up a superb bouquet of blood orange, fraises du bois, bread dough, a nice hint of cinnamon, a beautifully complex base of soil and citrus zest. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and snappy, with fine nascent complexity, lovey focus and balance, very classy, pinpoint bubbles and outstanding length and grip on the elegant and youthful finish. This is eminently drinkable today, but based on how well the 2008 release of this wine evolved in my cellar, it is pretty hard not to argue that this wine would be best tucked away for a few more years to allow its secondary layers of complexity to emerge. It is quite clear that Camille Savès is one of the finest sources for Brut Rosé out there today. 2012-2030. (Jul/Aug 2012)"
92 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Dark pink. Heady, exotic scents of wild strawberry, raspberry and fresh rose, with bright citrus and intense mineral notes adding lift. Juicy red fruit flavors are given spine and focus by tangy acidity and pick up a deeper cherry quality and smoky minerality with air. Powerful but nimble, finishing with excellent clarity and stony cut. This Champagne’s blend of depth and minerally freshness is impressive. (Dec 2010)"
91 points Fine Wine Review: "Savès is in Bouzy, in the heart of Pinot Noir country, but this wine is 60% Chardonnay and 28% Pinot Noir with 12% still red wine added to it. The resulting wine is light and airy but incisive with wild strawberry flavors and aromas. It can serve either for aperitif or with food. (Issue #127; 2010)"

90 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "There is a certain sense of youthful gregariousness to this very fruity Rosé, yet it is not a simple or superficial wine, and there is real depth to its faintly cherry-like fruit. It is not wildly toasty or weighed down with yeast, yet it is nicely balanced and sports an especially fine complement of tiny bubbles, and it takes on an extra bit of richness owning to its gently autolyzed trim of sweet cream and toast. 92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The new release of the non-vintage Godmé Père et Fils Brut Rosé is outstanding on both the nose and palate. The vibrant bouquet wafts from the glass in a very classy combination of tart strawberries, orange zest, rye toast, smoke, beautiful, chalky soil tones and a distinct topnote of dried roses. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very pure and complex, with an excellent core, bright acids, quite moderate dosage, lovely focus and grip, elegant mousse and a very long, poised and youthful finish. I have had great success aging the non-vintage Godmé Père et Fils Brut Rosé in my own cellar, and I would be strongly inclined to tuck the new release away for a few years bottle age to really let it blossom. It is an excellent wine that will only deliver ever further pleasure with a bit of cellaring. 2014-2030. (Jan/Feb 2013)"
92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(Base wine 2007, 85% pinot noir, 15% chardonnay). An elegant, airy and highly expressive nose speaks of raspberry, cherry and strawberry aromas that give way to equally refined and pure flavors that evidence a very fine mousse on the utterly delicious and focused finish. This exceptionally attractive effort offers only moderate complexity but it is so refreshing and seductive that it’s quite tempting to drink a lot of this quickly! Drink: now. (Jan 2012)"

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Prior to my visit to the house in March, I had no idea that Rosé bubblies played such a large role in Gosset’s yearly sales, but I guess I should have known, as this has consistently been a house specialty and people are not dumb! The current release of the Grande Rosé is another superb wine, wafting from the glass in a youthfully complex and classy blend of blood orange, a touch of melon, orange zest, stony minerality and bread dough. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and tightly-knit, with a fine core of fruit, utterly refined mousse, lovely focus and excellent length and grip on the poised and still quite primary finish. This will be even better with a year or two in the cellar, though it is already quite tasty in its youth. 2012-2025. (Jul/Aug 2012)"
92 points Wine News: "[$85 list] Light tangerine hue; steady effervescence and impressive mousse. Nose of dusty rose and light yeasty scents. Creamy flavors of orange peel, toast and citrus-tinged minerality. Tart tangerine and lemon-lime notes mark a slightly bitter finish. (Dec 2008/Jan 2009)"

92 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "($71 list; 13% chardonnay with the balance in pinot noir). This is elegant, pure and lilting with fruit but this is not a rosé where the predominant notes are strawberry or raspberry; rather, here the nose is based on ultra pure pinot fruit that is classy and complex. There is relatively strong effervescence, which imparts a highly refreshing character to the flavors that are deep, long and serious. This is a lovely effort that would go great with food as there is sufficient depth on the crisp, clean, dry and lingering finish. Terrific and a rosé that could be drunk now with enormous pleasure or cellared for up to another decade. Drink: 2011+. (Oct 2009)"
91 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The NV Brut Rose Grand Cru, a specialty here, is once again terrific. Though somewhat reticent and tightly wound, the Rose shows hints of its inner sweetness and gorgeous perfume the longer it sits in the glass. This vinous yet mid-weight, classy wine is a great effort from Goutorbe, even if it isn't as extroverted as some past versions. The Rose Grand Cru is 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay, all from Ay. Given that the wine is 100% 2006 juice I would like to think there is room for this wine to improve with further time in bottle. 2012-2016. (Dec 2010)"
91 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(75% pinot noir and 25% chardonnay, all from Aÿ and all from 2006; disgorged May, 2010): Pale orange. Bright, spicy aromas of pear, blood orange, honey and rose. Concentrated, tactile and energetic, with spicy lift to its flavors of red and citrus fruits and candied flowers. A juicy, mineral-accented Champagne, showing very good depth and a bright, long finish. (Dec 2010)"

93 points Wine Enthusiast: "The discrete Henriot labeling is echoed in this elegant wine. Like so many Henriot Champagnes it has good bottle age, shows toast as well as light red fruits. There is a depth of flavor here, the texture of yeasty mousse and apple skins going right through the taste. Ready to drink, but worth aging. (Dec 2009)"
92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The current release of the Henriot Brut Rosé is primarily based on fruit from the 2006 vintage and is already drinking beautifully. This pale, salmon-colored Rosé offers up a superb nose of wild strawberries, cherries, chalky minerality, bread dough and a floral topnote redolent of apple blossoms. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, complex and utterly refined, with a fine core of fruit, very elegant mousse, crisp acids and fine focus and grip on the perfectly poised, balanced and dancing finish. While Henriot is not particularly renowned for the quality of their Rosé bottlings, based on the fireworks I have tasted from this superb house in the last few years, it is pretty hard not to come to the conclusion that this is one of the Grande Marques that specializes these days in Brut Rosé and Henriot should be ranked right up there with Laurent-Perrier and Billecart-Salmon as one of the finest producers of Rosé Champagne. A lovely wine. 2011-2030. (Jul/Aug 2011)"

92 points Wine & Spirits: "[$70 list] The color of a golden raspberry, this is a delicious essence of fruit, its fresh berry flavors and high-toned apple skin crispness bright enough to lift your mood. Lovely intensity and a high yum factor for drinking now. (Dec 2011)"
92 points The Tasting Panel: "[$70 list] Fresh and tangy with spice and ripe berry fruit; classic style with great balance and length; stylish and vibrant. (Jan/Feb 2012)"
91 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "($70 list; there is an addition of up to 25% reserve wines from a number of different vintages in the Champagne Henriot library). A high-toned and relatively fruity nose of raspberry, strawberry and hint of red pinot fruit give way to delicious and really quite fine detailed and utterly delicious flavors that possess a refined mouth feel. The bead is notably fine and very restrained, which imparts an understated character to the crisp and agreeably dry finish. Lovely. Drink: now+. (Jun 2012)"

The Finest Wines of Champagne: "Lanson is one of the oldest Champagne houses. Founded in 1730, this proud family firm had a deserved reputation until the early 1990s for its distinctive, uncompromising, but unquestionably fine style of Champagne--full-bodied, bracingly dry, and with enough richness and vinosity in its Vintage wines to match fine cuising... the house has been lucky to retain the Lanson family's chef de cave, Jean-Paul Gandon, who has been with them since the 1970s... At Lanson, he has done a remarkable job since 1991, and there has been a real renaissance in the wines...
55% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Meunier. Dosage 9g/l. Lovely, subtle, wild-salmon hue. With slightly lower dosage and a higher proportion of reserve wines than the Black Label, this is a very superior pink, of elegant, creamy mousse and discreet tastes of little red fruits. There is no hint of heaviness, the natural taste of the grapes, artfully vinified, showing through strongly. (Dec 2008)"

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "I did not note when this wine was disgorged (I know, sloppy of me!), but I did at least observe that is made from a blend of sixty-five percent pinot noir, thirty-five percent chardonnay, with the vintages that the base wines hailing from being the 2002, 2004 and 2005. The wine is outstanding, jumping from the glass in a nascently complex aromatic blend of melon, tart orange, bread dough and lovely smokiness in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and very classy, with a rock solid core of fruit, excellent soil signature, crisp acids, pinpoint bubbles and fine focus on the very long and elegant finish. Fine, fine juice here. 2012-2030. (Jul/Aug 2012)"
92 points Wine Enthusiast: "This rosé is the partner of the brut nonvintage launched in 2009. It is dry, with intense acidity balanced by an elegant, textured red fruit character. Aged for five years, it shows a fine combination of fruit and maturity. (Dec 2011)"
Producer notes: "35% Chardonnay, 65% Pinot Noir. A cuvée of vintages 2002, 2004 and 2005. Lanson Extra Age Rosé has a salmony, coppery color enlivened by a myriad of fine bubbles. Aromas of red fruit and confectionary are dominated by a scent of strawberry jam. Tart flavors recall wild strawberry, redcurrant and vine peach."

A stingy aroma initially that slowly opens up in a creamy style that is reminiscent of the finest homemade vanilla ice cream. The core of the flavour is replete with red fruits bathed in floral, creamy Chardonnay from Cramant. A shy spiciness from whence originates the biscuit aroma that in time becomes the roasting of coffee, can be detected in the empty glass. (Mar 2009)"
95 points Connoisseurs' Guide: "Although so rich and yeasty that images of fresh-baked brioche leap to mind, this lovely, wonderfully refined wine comes with a marked boost in fruitiness compared to its stylistic peers. There is something akin to California fruit deep down at its heart, and while it has real Rosé richness and weight, it is low in astringency and is just about as polished as they come. (Dec 2010)"
93 points Wine & Spirits: "[$349 list] This rosé's brisk mousse suspends tart cherry flavors over a delicate web of structure. The mousse is part of that web, as is the edgy acidity and light, tight tannin, all merging together into a firm, evanescent pinot noir. This has the clarity and purity that pinot can attain in Champagne, a pristine limestone beauty to pour as guests arrive for dinner. (Dec 2010)"

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "...six months of bottle age has done this beautiful wine absolutely no harm! The beautiful nose delivers in a vibrant combination of white cherries, blood orange, wheat toast, gentle smokiness, chalky minerality, a nice touch of cinnamon and a topnote of dried roses. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and utterly refined, with a lovely core of fruit, outstanding focus and balance, refined mousse, great complexity and a very long, crisp and supremely elegant finish. I loved this wine six months ago and the passing half year have simply made this wine more wide open and even more pleasurable to drink. This has to be one of the great steals for Rosé Champagne in the market today! 2013-2025. (Jan/Feb 2013)"
92 points Wine Spectator: "Bright and lively, with anise, clove and nutmeg spice notes accenting candied cherry and berry fruit. Hints of brioche, hazelnut, smoke and lemon cake add richness, pushing through to the long, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2020. 200 cases imported. (10/19/11)"
90 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "...an intensely mineral, chalky Champagne. Medium in body, the wine reveals excellent length, if not quite the inner perfume and richness of the very finest NV roses. Still, this should be delicious with food, where the wine’s energy and vitality will be particularly appreciated... Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012. (Dec 2009)"
Producer notes: "We only produce Rosé wines in years when the quality of the black grapes is really very good. They are all produced by blending Extra Quality Brut champagne (blending the first pressings of premier grand crus with a majority of black grapes), to which a small amount of red champagne is added. Each harvest provides us with different structures and colour intensities. Adding red wine allows us to ensure the colour remains stable and precise. It allows us to create an expressive blend delicately combining the expression of red berry aromas and a rich, long finish, while maintaining its intensity. Our red wines are produced in our oak casks, revealing a very light, elegant hint of woodiness. We use very small dosages to allow all of the wine’s fruits and aromas to filter through. Tasting: Beautiful bubbles. Very fresh pink colour. Fruity, fresh bouquet. Clear finish and unnoticeable dosage."
Previously not well known in the U.S., these wines have been highly rated in The Wine Advocate and are on the wine list at the three-star "Les Crayers" in Reims. The most striking characteristics are the perfect balance, purity of fruit, extraordinary length and irreproachable style of these Champagnes.

92 points Wine Spectator: "A firm rosé, more about its elegant texture and streak of minerality than the flavors of wild strawberry, white cherry, grilled plum and graphite. Hints of spice and fleur de sel accent the finish. Drink now through 2020. (12/31/11)"
92 points Wine & Spirits: "Fragrant with raspberry and hibiscus, this is a vibrant rosé. Light pink in color, the wine has touches of sweetness that don’t get in the way of its powerful personality. It shares the Middle Eastern spice notes of the Blanc de Blancs, here matched with delicate red fruit. Pour it with lacquered duck. (Dec 2012)"
91 points Wine Enthusiast: "A mature, beautifully balanced wine, with great fresh raspberry and red currant flavors. It is rich, dense, balancing toast, yeast and fresh fruit. With its dry edge, think of this as a food wine. (Dec 2010)"

95 points Wine & Spirits: "There's a firm, juicy pinot noir at the core of this rosé, a bold young wine that's packed with citrus acidity and intensely concentrated fruit. If you open it now, the wine will need food to bridge its power, whether roast quail with chanterelles or a steak with sautéed wild mushrooms. Or cellar it, relying on the exceptional balance and depth of flavor to sustain the wine as it ages. (Dec 2006)"
92 points (95 potential) Richard Juhlin: "15 % Pinot Noir from Clicquot's best location at Bouzy. Clos Colin is added to the delicate white blend from Verzy, Bouzy, Verzenay, Ambonnay, Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil. A fairytale, elegant and beautifully scintillating champagne with brilliant intensity of colour and felicitously aromatic opulence. A sensual beauty to be drunk at once, but also a superb old lady in the future. Only 10,000 bottles for our thirsty world. (May 2009)"
93 points Wine Spectator: "Tightly knit, focused by racy acidity and a streak of minerality, this offers subtle notes of white peach, anise, biscuit and kumquat. The refined finish echoes a smoky note. Drink now through 2022. (12/15/12)"

92 points Wine Spectator: "[$100 list] Soft and creamy, the fine texture carries flavors of black currant and wild strawberry, with hints of financier, citrus zest and smoky mineral. Very appealing for overall finesse and the finely tuned, mouthwatering acidity. Drink now through 2024. (12/15/12)"
89-93 points Richard Juhlin: "(71% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay, 9% Pinot Meunier) [Mar 2011]"
91 points Wine Enthusiast: "Still very young, with the crispest of red currant fruits. There are almond and quince flavors to go with the raspberry juice acidity. At this stage, the dosage is not full integrated, showing an awkward final sweetness. Age for 4-5 years. (Dec 2009)"

91 points Wine & Spirits: "Scents of cedar, forest mushrooms and red fruit rise out of this deep copper pink rosé. It’s bright and spicy, a lovely pinot noir essence over limestone minerality. Supple and finely made. (Dec 2011)"
90 points Wine Spectator: "The impression here is elegant overall, but there's a firm backbone of acidity that's finely meshed with the delicate range of flavors, including white raspberry, spiced plum, biscuit, pink grapefruit zest and a base note of smoky minerality. Drink now through 2017. (12/15/12)"
'Bronze Medal,' Decanter: "(12% alcohol) Soft raspberry, rhubarb and custard nose. Perfumed, crisp, with good structure. (Oct 2010)
