Amiot-Servelle produces fruity wines in which balance and elegance prevail, and this 2010 vintage is no exception. Fresh and nicely aromatic. Expressive aromas of white flowers, brioche, hazelnut and a hint of vanilla. Nice amplitude in the mouth, with a lovely intensity of white flowers, hazelnut, pear and vanilla. Elegant and refined, this Bourgogne blanc offers a harmonious balance, a hint of minerality and a very pleasant finish.

88+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The Perrières bottling is usually my favorite of these three Bourgogne from Domaine Bize, and this is true by a very small margin in 2008. The terroir here is really excellent for Bourgogne, and this soil complexity translates beautifully into the finished wine in ’08. The nose is a terrific blend of pear, lemon, stony minerality and a garden full of spring flowers in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, long and seriously complex, with fine mid-palate depth, snappy acids and excellent focus on the long, soil-driven finish. Either the Champlains or the Perrières should be on the short shopping list of those looking for great white Burgundy complexity at a bargain price. 2010-2020. (Nov/Dec 2009)"
87 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(100% cask). Soft wood and SO2 notes do not materially interfere with the clarity of the otherwise fresh and complex floral, citrus and light mineral aromas that give way to intense and beautifully detailed flavors that deliver a cuts-like-a-knife finish and plenty of underlying tension. Terrific quality at this level plus it will age. Comments: Outstanding Top value. Drink: 2013+. (Jun 2010)"

92+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "As fine as the 2010 Champlains is this year, the les Perrières is even a step up in quality! The stunning nose offers up a very pure and complex mélange of apple, passion fruit, very complex, chalky minerality, musky floral tones and a nice touch of citrus zest in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and snappy, with a bottomless core of silky fruit, a stunning signature of soil, brisk acids and magical length and grip on the laser-like finish. I cannot believe that this is Bourgogne! 2012-2025+. (Nov/Dec 2011)"
90 points Fine Wine Review: "In white, the Bourgogne is very mineral in its nose. The body is medium-weight with mineral and golden flavors, length, and depth. (Issue #137; 2013)"

88+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2005 Savigny Blanc is a very pretty and forward example of the vintage... The bouquet is a blend of pear, quince, honeycomb and a nice base of chalky soil tones. On the palate the wine is fullish, broad and tasty, with good gras, nice framing acids, and solid length on the finish that closes with a floral topnote. A very tasty bottle... 2006-2012+. (Nov/Dec 2006)"
88 points Fine Wine Review: "The white Savigny itself shows strong minerality in the nose and is very ripe in the mouth with lots of power and excellent length, but it is perhaps a touch short in acidity for my palate. Now-2012+. (Issue #115; 2007)"
87 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(100% chardonnay from a number of different parcels). A fruity and distinctly exotic fruit nose that is a bit riper with rich, delicious and relatively forward flavors that offer more size and weight plus a bit more depth on the nicely dry finish. Solid if not distinguished but it avoids the heaviness Savigny whites often display. Drink: 2008+. (Jul 2007)"

93 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2010 white wines chez Bize are every bit as strong as the reds this year, and nothing could exemplify this more than this brilliant Savigny Blanc. The wine had been racked in October and was absolutely singing in mid-November, offering up a superb nose of apple, orange, stony minerality, a touch of beeswax (or is that Bize-wax?), an esthery note of spring flowers and a deft touch of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and rock solid at the core, with great focus, stunning length and grip and superb cut on the utterly pure and rapier-like finish. A brilliant village wine! 2016-2035+. (Nov/Dec 2011)"

91 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "There is enough reduction present to detract mildly from the otherwise ripe white and yellow orchard fruit aromas that possess an attractive sense of layering. There is good generosity and volume to the concentrated, energetic, complex, long and refreshing finish that contrast a mid-palate sweetness against a very dry and relatively refined finish. Note that my score assumes the reduction is simply a post-bottling phase. Drink: 2017+. (Jun 2012)"

92 points and 'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "This offers a big step up in aromatic elegance with its stone, rose petal and lemon and orange peel scents that dissolve seamlessly into racy and wonderfully energetic flavors that possess excellent depth and length. The mid-palate seems directly extracted from liquid stone as 2010 is a vintage where the natural minerality of a fine Caillerets is very much front and center. Drink: 2017+. (Jun 2012)"

96 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(Blain produces 1 to 2 barrels annually). Almost invisible wood sets off an almost mute nose of complex and layered white and yellow orchard fruit aromas that is, at this early juncture, quite reserved. The rich and silky big-bodied flavors possess seriously impressive concentration as well as almost painful intensity on the equally explosive and driving finish. As complex as the Bâtard is there is simply another dimension of overall depth present here. A knockout. Comments: Don't miss! Drink: 2017+. (Feb 2011)"
94 points Wine Spectator: "[$600 list] Though elegant, this white shows density and intensity, sporting peach, apple, pear and melon flavors that all mesh with the bright structure. Ends with a mouthwatering impression. Best from 2013 through 2022. 10 cases imported. (6/20/12)"

96 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(two-thirds from Chassagne and the remainder from Puligny). In contrast to the expressiveness of the Bienvenues and Criots, this is reserved to the point of being almost mute and only aggressive swirling coaxes reluctant aromas of white flowers, spice and a range of mostly yellow dried fruits. There is superb intensity to the mouth coating, powerful and weighty flavors that exhibit a taut muscularity on the opulent but focused and well-detailed finish. This is almost painfully intense and absolutely bone dry, which is unusual in the context of the vintage. A knockout! Comments: Don't miss! Drink: 2017+. (Feb 2011)"
94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "White plum, fresh apricot, hazelnut, honey and nutty oak on the nose, perked up by a whiff of pineapple. Sweet, deep and powerfully structured, with the wine's fresh fruit flavors currently held under wraps by surprising acidity. Not showing the personality of the Clos de la Mouchere, but this grand cru's sheer energy and very long, rising finish promise a slow and eventful evolution in bottle. (Sep/Oct 2011)"

94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "As one would reasonably expect given Criots' natural tendency to high ripeness levels, the nose is notably riper than that of the Caillerets with ample amounts of highly complex yellow orchard fruit where a hint of exoticism comes into play. The equally ripe, rich, powerful and sappy full-bodied flavors display impressive size, weight and volume yet the finish remains focused and even reasonably well detailed with so much extract that there is the impression of chewiness. As is usually the case, this is not as refined as the rest of the grands crus but this is imposing. Comments: Don't miss! Drink: 2016+. (Jun 2010)"
91-94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Musky aromas of clove and white truffle. Silky, sweet and tactile, with terrific energy and cut to the peach, spice and nut oil flavors. Finishes with compelling spicy persistence and perfume. (Sep/Oct 2009)"

96 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$185 list] The 2010 Corton-Charlemagne is the epitome of elegance, finesse and refinement in white Burgundy. Readers will have a very, very hard time finding a wine with this much pure class and textural finesse. Smoke, flint, crushed rocks and citrus all flow through to the vibrant, pointed finish. Today, the 2010 is incredibly tight, and needs more time in bottle to soften. It is a dazzling wine endowed with laser-like focus and tons of purity. Anticipated maturity: 2015+. (Aug 2012)"
92-95 points Fine Wine Review: "The Corton-Charlemagne shows good tightness with lemony flavors and good acidity, minerality, and depth. It is an elegant Corton-Charlemagne. (Issue #137; 2013)"
94 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Pale yellow. Initially closed nose of lemon drop, anise and wet stone opened with air to show underripe pineapple, spices and wild herbs. Dense, thick, powerful and dry, with a strong vanillin oak element nicely buffered by an impression of saline extract. Began a bit warm but aeration brought strong, chewy flavors of chalk and lemon. Finishes austere, uncompromisingly dry and very long, with superb verve. All about soil and stone. (Sep 2012)"

96-99 points Fine Wine Review: "...the Montrachet itself shows pure butter aromas and flavors with finesse, great depth, length, and great bite. It is outstanding Montrachet; for me, there is no single Montrachet reference, but stylistically, I would say this is in the middle, with the richness of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti at one end and the finesse of Drouhin’s Marquis de Laguiche at the other end. (Issue #125; 2009)"
97 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from a .89 ha parcel of Puligny vines). While not more elegant than the Cabotte, this is quite a bit more complex with a stunning range of fruit, citrus, floral and spice aromas that complement to perfection the very rich, full and strikingly concentrated broad-scaled flavors that are supported by plenty of dry extract that buffers a firm core of ripe acidity on the beautifully intense and flat out incredibly lingering finish. What really impresses me about the '07 though is that despite the impressive heft, the finish remains laser-like in its focus. A 'wow' wine in every sense except for one, which is that this is not an imposing or massive vintage for this wine. Otherwise, this is sensational, especially in terms of its impeccable balance. Drink: 2019+. (Jun 2009)"
94 points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "The Bouchard 2007 Montrachet is scented with peaches, ocean breezes, narcissus, musk, and a hint of sweat, setting the tone for a creamy palate brimming with richly ripe fruit and invigoratingly tinged with salt, sweat, white pepper, lemon zest, and peach fuzz. This is more emphatically concentrated than its Chevalier counterparts as well as -- predictably -- more overtly rich, but less alluring, and lacking the dynamic or lift that made the La Cabotte bottling especially memorable. Still it is formidably rich stuff, which one hopes will display stamina in bottle concomitant with its palate persistence. If I had some, I would not open a bottle for several years and would anticipate a decade or more of rewards. (Dec 2009)"

From the walled vineyard right in front of the Château inside the village of Puligny-Montrachet, this over-achieving Bourgogne Blanc is stellar year in and year out. It definitely shows the floral and mineral notes in the nose that make the village famous. Good length and buttery, citrus fruit make this a great wine at any price, but this "little" wine from an estate with an embarrassing array of riches can stand up to the best of them.

89 points - 'Outstanding,' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "An elegant, pure and expressive nose of citrus, pear and white peach that is unusually refined for a villages level wine slides gracefully into detailed and intense middle weight flavors that display evident minerality on the solidly well concentrated and lengthy finish. This is really quite good and while it does not deliver the same level of finesse as the 1ers, this is well worth considering. Drink: 2013+. (Jan 2011)"

A full-bodied and ageworthy White Burgundy with notes of roasted almond, vanilla and fresh fig.
Clive Coates (The Wines of Burgundy): "Claude Chevalier, tall, handsome and in his fifties now, is in charge here; father Georges, who first started bottling in 1959, retired some 10 years ago. Since 2000 there have been a number of changes for the better here. Yields have been reduced, and the wines are altogether more sophisticated. This is one of the best addresses in the village (of Ladoix)."

Not yet reviewed; 2009 vintage rated 88 points by Fine Wine Review: "We start with the Bourgogne-Aligoté, bottled just prior to harvest. Yields were just 35 hl/ha -- remarkably low for a regional wine in this vintage. Vines are more than 80 years old and mostly raisin doré, the old strain of Aligoté that generally produces superior results. The wine is round and ripe with excellent minerality, silky in texture, long and pure with finesse that is unusual in Aligoté."

The full-bodied flavors are deep, dense and massive with an exceptionally powerful drive on the gorgeously long finish. This could actually surprise to the upside as everything is here, including great material, perfect balance and superb harmony and it's built for the long haul. 2015+."

Importer notes: "Les Crenilles dates to 1802 and is found in Pommard. Now, as there is no white wine allowed with the name Pommard under the appellation controlée rules, you have here a one of a kind beauty. Pommard's soil has a very high percentage of active limestone making it remarkably similar to the clays found in the Cote de Nuits. The wine is beautiful in the glass- golden yellow, generous in glycerin, yet totally dry fermented. No malolactic keeps that coveted acidity in full force. No oak here, just a gorgeous song of minerality accompanied by whispers of rich citrus and fresh almonds and hazelnut."

92-95 points Fine Wine Review: "The Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet displays butter and hazelnuts with some minerality and small spices in the nose. The mouth shows butter, lemon, and mineral flavors with nervosity, intensity, length, and excellent acidity. (Issue #137; 2013)"
92-94 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A mildly toasty nose is presently dominated by strong fermentation aromas that push the underlying fruit to the background. By contrast, there is good freshness and plenty of punch to the rich, deep, intense and admirably refined medium-bodied flavors that possess a silky mouth feel, all wrapped in a highly complex, long and very stylish finish. This is a very classy effort and, nose aside, a classic Bienvenues. Drink: 2018+. (Jun 2012)"
93 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "[$380 list] Full yellow color. Musky aromas of ripe peach, lime and brown spices. Densely packed and lively; distinctly powerful for Bienvenue. Highly concentrated citrus and crushed stone flavors give the wine a vibrant, piercing back end. A very backward, long grand cru with terrific energy for aging. (Sep 2012)"
