87+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2008 Chambolle AC is quite good and surprisingly, my favorite wine in this range. The nose offers up classic Chambolle notes of red and black cherries, dark chocolate, lovely soil tones, woodsmoke and a judicious touch of new wood. On the palate the wine is medium-full, long and tangy, with solid complexity and good length and grip. A very respectable bottle of Chambolle villages. 2014-2030. (Mar/Apr 2010)"
Allen Meadows (Burghound): "his is also extremely fresh and airy with a pretty mélange of red and blue pinot fruit with similar floral notes that merge into vibrant, clean and pure middle weight flavors that are supported by mildly edgy structural elements on the short and slightly dry finish. Drink: 2013+. (Jan 2011)"

88 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A lightly spiced nose of red and blue pinot fruit has its expressiveness reduced by noticeable reduction so be sure to decant this if you're going to try one young. The lacy, pure and round mineral-inflected flavors are forward and very supple, all wrapped in a dusty, delicious and mouth coating finish. This notably pretty effort is very Chambollesque in character. Drink: 2017+. (Apr 2013)"
Jasper Morris (Inside Burgundy): "This domaine is run by Christian Amiot (one of the sons of Pierre Amiot from Morey-St-Denis) who is married to Elisabeth Servelle, daughter of Bernard Servelle-Tachot... The domaine has been farmed organically from 2003, with AB certification from the 2008 vintage. The wines taste fresh and modern although there is no great reliance on oak--20 per cent new wood is used for the village wine, and up to 50 per cent for the two top premiers crus... (2010)"
Clive Coates (The Wines of Burgundy): "Quality has improved... The wines now are very good, indeed. (2008)"

88 points and 'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from Les Pargues). This is also quite floral and somewhat curiously less elegant as the green fruit and lemon zest aromas don?t have quite the same lift. This is bigger and richer with more volume as well to the fleshy medium-bodied flavors that possess reasonably good depth and length. This is a more imposing effort but not obviously better. Drink: 2014+. (Sep 2012)"
88 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The soft, pretty side of the year comes through in Billaud-Simon’s 2011 Chablis. This is an especially polished Chablis that should drink well pretty much upon release. Floral, minty notes add lift on the delineated, classy finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012+. (Aug 2012)"
86-88 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Pale green-edged yellow. Aromas of lemon, lime, flinty minerality and spearmint. Sweet, ripe and nicely balanced, with a peach flavor joined by an exotic suggestion of banana. Finishes with good length. (Jul 2012)"

88+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The Perrières bottling is usually my favorite of these three Bourgogne from Domaine Bize, and this is true by a very small margin in 2008. The terroir here is really excellent for Bourgogne, and this soil complexity translates beautifully into the finished wine in ’08. The nose is a terrific blend of pear, lemon, stony minerality and a garden full of spring flowers in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, long and seriously complex, with fine mid-palate depth, snappy acids and excellent focus on the long, soil-driven finish. Either the Champlains or the Perrières should be on the short shopping list of those looking for great white Burgundy complexity at a bargain price. 2010-2020. (Nov/Dec 2009)"
87 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(100% cask). Soft wood and SO2 notes do not materially interfere with the clarity of the otherwise fresh and complex floral, citrus and light mineral aromas that give way to intense and beautifully detailed flavors that deliver a cuts-like-a-knife finish and plenty of underlying tension. Terrific quality at this level plus it will age. Comments: Outstanding Top value. Drink: 2013+. (Jun 2010)"

88+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2005 Savigny Blanc is a very pretty and forward example of the vintage... The bouquet is a blend of pear, quince, honeycomb and a nice base of chalky soil tones. On the palate the wine is fullish, broad and tasty, with good gras, nice framing acids, and solid length on the finish that closes with a floral topnote. A very tasty bottle... 2006-2012+. (Nov/Dec 2006)"
88 points Fine Wine Review: "The white Savigny itself shows strong minerality in the nose and is very ripe in the mouth with lots of power and excellent length, but it is perhaps a touch short in acidity for my palate. Now-2012+. (Issue #115; 2007)"
87 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(100% chardonnay from a number of different parcels). A fruity and distinctly exotic fruit nose that is a bit riper with rich, delicious and relatively forward flavors that offer more size and weight plus a bit more depth on the nicely dry finish. Solid if not distinguished but it avoids the heaviness Savigny whites often display. Drink: 2008+. (Jul 2007)"

86 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A moderately exotic fruit suffused nose also evidences hints of melon and straw that lead to rich and fresh flavors that possess good volume and vibrancy on the balanced and delicious finish where a touch of citrus surfaces. This is a very solid if rather forward effort for what it is. Drink: 2012+. (Feb 2011)"
84-88 points Fine Wine Review: "The Bourgogne, reserve is from Fixin, Marsannay, Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Chorey-les-Beaune, Savigny-les-Beaune, and Marsannay. About 25% new wood on this wine. The red fruit aromas are followed by dark fruit flavors in the mouth, a smooth texture, and tannins that, although smooth, are present. (Issue #130; 2011)"

On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, focused and very vibrant, with a fine core of fruit, excellent focus and balance and a long finish of modest tannins and tangy acids. At the same time, there is a palpable sense of extract, even of density, all of which suggest why their author prefers to give his wines longer elevage and points toward the potential for several years’ bottle interest. There is a fleeting, ethereal quality to the Beaune that suggests it should be enjoyed over the next 3-4 years. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. (Feb 2012)"
86-88 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A very pretty red berry fruit nose also evidences hints of soil and spice nuances. 87 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "While not as complex this resembles the Clos de Vougeot in the sense that it has a distinct animale character to the pungently earthy wild dark berry fruit suffused nose. Where this differs materially is that there isn't the size, weight and richness but that would be expected given that the Clos de Vougeot is a grand cru. There is reasonably good complexity and while not a great example of the genre, this is correct with fine intensity and length. Drink: 2016+. (Apr 2013)"
Producer notes: "Garnet in color, the wine opens to an exuberant bouquet of black berry fruits with a subtle vegetal flavor, due in part to selected whole-cluster fermentation. Very perfumed, the wine is structured and well-balanced, with a nice acidity and silky tannins. Aromatic and intense finish."

87 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A generously if not dominantly wooded nose reflects notes of toast and vanilla along with overtly ripe white and yellow orchard fruit aromas. There is good richness and plenty of mid-palate volume and sap to the medium-bodied flavors that possess acceptable though not special depth and length. This is carrying quite a bit of wood and given how rich the wine is, the palate impression lacks the necessary verve to really carry it off. To be fair, and clear, there are no faults though I feel compelled to point out that the style will most please those who enjoy 'in your face' whites. Drink: now. (Sep 2012)"
Producer notes: "Evening Land's 2010 Etoile Pouilly-Fuissé is sourced from the region's most beautiful, ancient vineyards. Beauregard is a warmer terroir producing rich, round wines. The blending of Beauregard fruit with that of the cool terroir of Vergisson produces a wine that is acidic, racy, and pointed. The vineyards of the Macon are often overlooked and its fruit is all-too-often sold off for use in the big blends of the region."

Here too there is a hint of sulfur that will probably dissipate in short order. There is a pretty mix of pear, green fruit and iodine hints that merge seamlessly into rich, round and very generous flavors that benefit from a touch of backend minerality. This delicious and saline-infused effort is really very good. Worth considering. 89/2014+. (Oct 2012)"
88 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The Champs Royaux bottling is the Chablis villages made from purchased grapes by William Fèvre, and the 2011 is a lovely and forward example of the vintage that would work very nicely on restaurant wine lists. The very pretty nose offers up scents of green apple, pink grapefruit, chalky soil tones, a touch of grassiness and spring flowers. On the palate the wine is medium-full, fresh and beautifully balanced, with good acids and very fine length and grip on the wide open and succulent finish. Lovely wine. 2013-2020. (Nov/Dec 2012)"

88+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "I tasted 1998 Gaunoux Beaune a couple of years ago as part of my feature on the wines from this commune, and at that time I thought that this wine was poised on a knife edge between adequate and inadequate ripeness, with the possibility that the wine would blossom into a sweet and suave middleweight or forever retain its potentially green edge. At that time I commented that it will be interesting to follow this wine and see how it resolves. A couple of years on the wine has blossomed very nicely and has shaken off its potential underripe character and offers up a lovely bouquet of red berries, cherries, cocoa, gamebirds, woodsmoke, soil and a distinct topnote of roses. On the palate the wine is medium-full, long and complex, with still a bit of tannin to resolve, but lovely length and grip on the complex finish. A classy wine that has turned out very well indeed. 2012- 2030+. (Jan/Feb 2009)"

Beginning with the 2010 vintage, Dominique Lafon is making a few wines under his own label, separate from the family domaine. Although this is a négociant label, all of the wines still come from vineyards owned or farmed by Dominique. This outstanding Bourgougne Blanc was formerly from Domaine René Manuel. Bright and expressive on the nose, it is fine and floral, with nice energy and a touch of flesh before finishing fresh and mineral.
