Amiot-Servelle produces fruity wines in which balance and elegance prevail, and this 2010 vintage is no exception. Fresh and nicely aromatic. Expressive aromas of white flowers, brioche, hazelnut and a hint of vanilla. Nice amplitude in the mouth, with a lovely intensity of white flowers, hazelnut, pear and vanilla. Elegant and refined, this Bourgogne blanc offers a harmonious balance, a hint of minerality and a very pleasant finish.

87 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from 10 to 15 year old vines). This also displays a classic nose of green fruit, citrus and oyster shell nuances that can be found on the very fresh, crisp and dry flavors that possess enough flesh to be enjoyed now but I would advise cellaring this for 2 to 3 years first. In sum, perfectly good if not distinguished for its level. Drink: 2012+. (Oct 2010)"

88 points and 'Don't miss!' Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(from Les Pargues). This is also quite floral and somewhat curiously less elegant as the green fruit and lemon zest aromas don?t have quite the same lift. This is bigger and richer with more volume as well to the fleshy medium-bodied flavors that possess reasonably good depth and length. This is a more imposing effort but not obviously better. Drink: 2014+. (Sep 2012)"
88 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "The soft, pretty side of the year comes through in Billaud-Simon’s 2011 Chablis. This is an especially polished Chablis that should drink well pretty much upon release. Floral, minty notes add lift on the delineated, classy finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012+. (Aug 2012)"
86-88 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "Pale green-edged yellow. Aromas of lemon, lime, flinty minerality and spearmint. Sweet, ripe and nicely balanced, with a peach flavor joined by an exotic suggestion of banana. Finishes with good length. (Jul 2012)"

90 points Antonio Galloni (Wine Advocate): "[$25 list] The 2010 Chablis is all about crystalline purity, depth and nuance. Lemon, white flowers, slate and crushed rocks all meld together in the glass. The 2010 impresses for its fabulous balance and impeccable finish. This a striking wine within its peer group. Anticipated maturity: 2012+. (Aug 2012)"
89 points Stephen Tanzer (International Wine Cellar): "(bottled in July of 2011): Pale, green-tinged yellow. Hints of lemon and orange peel on the reticent nose. Juicy, steely village wine with attractive sweetness and density; in a distinctly firmer and more mineral style than the 2011. 'The point of 2010 is the salt and the soil,' noted Samuel Billaud. 'It's hard to get this character.' Finishes salty and long but with plenty of buffering ripe citrus fruit. (Jul 2012)"
88 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A ripe, fresh and expressive nose features notes of orange peel, white flowers, sea breeze, apricot and saline hints. There is excellent richness to the unusually full-bodied flavors that possess first-rate intensity before culminating in an ever-so-slightly bitter, austere and racy finish. I suspect that the bitterness will be a passing phase and if this can add depth with time in bottle, my score could be seen as unduly conservative. Drink: 2014+. (Oct 2012)"

88+ points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The Perrières bottling is usually my favorite of these three Bourgogne from Domaine Bize, and this is true by a very small margin in 2008. The terroir here is really excellent for Bourgogne, and this soil complexity translates beautifully into the finished wine in ’08. The nose is a terrific blend of pear, lemon, stony minerality and a garden full of spring flowers in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, long and seriously complex, with fine mid-palate depth, snappy acids and excellent focus on the long, soil-driven finish. Either the Champlains or the Perrières should be on the short shopping list of those looking for great white Burgundy complexity at a bargain price. 2010-2020. (Nov/Dec 2009)"
87 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "(100% cask). Soft wood and SO2 notes do not materially interfere with the clarity of the otherwise fresh and complex floral, citrus and light mineral aromas that give way to intense and beautifully detailed flavors that deliver a cuts-like-a-knife finish and plenty of underlying tension. Terrific quality at this level plus it will age. Comments: Outstanding Top value. Drink: 2013+. (Jun 2010)"

86 points Allen Meadows (Burghound): "A moderately exotic fruit suffused nose also evidences hints of melon and straw that lead to rich and fresh flavors that possess good volume and vibrancy on the balanced and delicious finish where a touch of citrus surfaces. This is a very solid if rather forward effort for what it is. Drink: 2012+. (Feb 2011)"
84-88 points Fine Wine Review: "The Bourgogne, reserve is from Fixin, Marsannay, Pommard, Volnay, Meursault, Chorey-les-Beaune, Savigny-les-Beaune, and Marsannay. About 25% new wood on this wine. The red fruit aromas are followed by dark fruit flavors in the mouth, a smooth texture, and tannins that, although smooth, are present. (Issue #130; 2011)"

94 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "Daniel Bouland’s small parcel in the lieu à dit of Corcelette was planted almost entirely in 1925, making these venerable vines eighty-six years of age in the 2011 vintage. The old vines have done an admirable job in this classic vintage, offering up a deep, complex and nicely reserved nose of cassis, black cherries, stony soil tones, woodsmoke, a touch of espresso and lovely topnotes of fresh thyme and sage. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and beautifully focused, with a rock solid core of pure black fruit, bright acids, excellent focus and balance and a very, very long, tangy and modestly tannic finish. This is one of those bottlings of Morgon that will go on forever and ever- based on its truly exceptional balance, more than on its overtly tannic structure, as it is one of the more politely-structured Morgons of the vintage. A complete classic. 2014-2050. (Sep/Oct 2012)"

Producer notes: "The Château de Thulon in Lantignié, one of the best villages due to its hillsides and granite soil, produces a wine with a bright red color and a fresh and fruity nose. Best drunik when young, within 2 years. Wines from the Beaujolais villages area were made and bottled on the Château de Thulons cellar (XII century), my great aunt's property."
Not yet reviewed; 2010 vintage rated 89 points by Wine Advocate: "The Burgaud 2010 Beaujolais-Villages les Vignes de Thulon offers a sappy, exuberant, and ultimately gripping profusion of ripe but tart-edged and prominently seedy blackberry. A mouthwatering salinity helps render this simple but pure and intensely-fruited recent bottling irresistible. Plan to enjoy it over the next couple of years."

Importer notes: "The village of La Roche Vineuse (meaning vinous rock), appropriately named for the bevy of limestone found in the vineyards, is located in the heart of the Mâconnais, and captures its true 'terroir'. This lovely wine balances richness with minerality; the mid-palate and length are classic Burgundy. There are less expensive Mâcons; there may be greater Mâcons, but we feel there is no finer Mâcon for the money."
Producer notes: "100% Chardonnay from 25-year-old vines. Straw gold yellow. White floral and acadia aromas. In the mouth, dry and mineral. Food pairing: We suggest this wine as a pre-dinner drink or with poultry, risotto, fish, escargots and goat's cheese."

Marsannay Rosé is unique in that Marsannay is the only village appellation in Burgundy that offers the full range of white, red and rosé wines. Bruno Clair's rosé is part of its family history since the owner's grandfather, after returning from the war in 1919, had the idea to vinify the grapes of Pinot Noir into rosé wine for the first time. The success of this original wine was such that it became a specialty of the commune and acquired a certain amount of fame, which spread across France. The characteristics of this rosé are its fruitiness and unique flavors of Pinot Noir.

Not yet reviewed; 2009 vintage rated 88 points by Fine Wine Review: "We start with the Bourgogne-Aligoté, bottled just prior to harvest. Yields were just 35 hl/ha -- remarkably low for a regional wine in this vintage. Vines are more than 80 years old and mostly raisin doré, the old strain of Aligoté that generally produces superior results. The wine is round and ripe with excellent minerality, silky in texture, long and pure with finesse that is unusual in Aligoté."

Producer notes: "From vines averaging 50 years of age. The grapes for this wine come from southeast facing plots at the foot of the chapel perched on the hill above the village of Fleurie. They are vinified in whole bunches. After vatting lasting 8 to 9 days comes pneumatic pressing, then maturing in vats for 6 months. A refined aromatic wine in a carmine robe, it opens out to aromas of very ripe black-skinned fruit. Food pairing: country-style pâté, poultry, squab, leg of lamb, fresh goat's cheese."

90 points and 'Year's Best White Burgundy,' Wine & Spirits: "A classical Chablis from the fourth generation of this family domaine, this wine’s crisp green apple and bright lime flavors have fruit intensity that lasts. A central spine of acidity keeps it fresh and lively. For raw oysters now, or wood-roasted oysters if you age this for a few years. (Apr 2013)"
San Francisco Chronicle: "(12.5%): Young Romain Collet has taken over the estimable work of his father Gilles, a locally known talent. Let's hope the Collet name catches here: From the single Pargues parcel next to the premier crus Butteaux and Forest, this reveals surprisingly ripe quince and apricot amid deep flinty tones. That makes it a touch friendlier in all its mineral energy. Instantly pleasing. (5/6/12)"
The Collet family has cultivated wines in Chablis since the late 1700s. 27-year-old Romain now represents the fourth generation to run the winery. Les Pargues is raised in stainless steel and is very mineral driven.

88-89 points David Schildknecht (Wine Advocate): "From tank, Descombes’s 2010 Brouilly -- from a parcel of vines planted in 1993 -- allies fresh red raspberry and Maine blueberry for a sappy, bright, tart, energetic, and refreshing performance that emphasizes the white wine-like aspect of its vintage. At the same time, there is a palpable sense of extract, even of density, all of which suggest why their author prefers to give his wines longer elevage and points toward the potential for several years’ bottle interest.
