90 points Wine Spectator: "[$20 list] This has a big grip of tannins, but the underlying blackberry, smoke and tar flavors have focus, power and depth. The tannins are daunting, as this is supposed to be a drink-me-now wine. Best after 2014. (5/31/12)"
90 points Wine Advocate: "[$20 list] Medium-deep garnet colored, the 2009 The Custodian Grenache offers a very spicy nose over notes of prunes, raspberry preserves and a whiff of sultanas. Medium to full-bodied, it offers plenty of spicy, warm berry flavors, velvety tannins and balancing acidity, finishing long. Drink it now to 2016+. (Dec 2011)" -Lisa Perrotti-Brown
90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Deep, bright ruby. Aromas of raspberry liqueur, bitter chocolate and licorice. Sweet and plush but juicy, with supple texture to its flavors of cherry, red berries and candied rose. Creamy and open-knit, with very good immediate appeal. The sweet finish displays a lingering raspberry note. (Jul/Aug 2011)"

89 points Wine Spectator: "[$20 list] This fresh, vibrant red is a juicy zinger of cherry and spice flavors that dance against refined tannins and lively acidity. Drink now through 2016. (2/29/12)"
88 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Bright violet. Dried cherry, blackberry, smoked meat and violet on the nose. Pungent, palate-staining dark berry flavors show a wild, musky quality and pick up spiciness with air. Repeats the smoky note on a firm and nicely persistent finish. (Jul/Aug 2011)"

88 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(42% grenache, 33% shiraz and 25% mourvedre): Deep ruby. Powerful, youthfully brooding aromas of cherry, licorice, dark chocolate and pungent herbs. Smells and tastes quite serious for an entry-level wine, offering deep dark fruit and bitter chocolate flavors that pick up sweetness with air. Supple tannins build on the nicely persistent, chewy finish. Owner and winemaker Chester Osbourne says that a lot of components that just missed the cut for d'Arenberg's flagship bottlings typically go into this wine, which gives it a less easygoing personality than most Aussie reds at this price point. (Jul/Aug 2011)"
87 points Wine Spectator: "[$12 list] Light and lively, this offers orange peel-accented raspberry fruit, finishing with a lift. Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvèdre. Drink now. (7/31/11)"
'Best Buy,' Wine & Spirits: "[$12 list] The raspberry scents of grenache, the cherry meat of shiraz and earthy tannins of mourvedre combine in this warm, rustic blend. For a cookout. (Oct 2011)"
Producer notes: "The nose features plum and bright red fruits with a hint of roasted meats, earth, pepper and exotic spices. The palate has some wonderful delicate fruit with blackberry joining the party. A touch of dried herbs adds a savoury edge with fine, lifted tannins providing a long finish."

90 points Wine Spectator: "Very pretty, with floral, passion fruit and pineapple aromas and flavors up front. Settles into an apricot silkiness on the finish. Drink now. Smart Buys. (7/31/10)"
90 points Wine & Spirits: "2009 McLaren Vale Adelaide Hills The Hermit Crab Viognier-Marsanne Chester Osborn named this wine after the hermit who gave his name to Hermitage and the hermit crabs that live on the beach in McLaren Vale. Tasted blind, it started a discussion about crab-meat soup dumplings at Grand Szechuan in New York, and lobster rolls in Maine. So there is something to the name-a friendly, party-style white that will get any hermit out of his shell-especially if there's crab to match the wine's creamy, lush, peachy flavors. (Oct 2010)"
89 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(a 72/28 blend) Light gold. Really showing its viognier today, with scents of white peach, pear, honey and baking spices. Juicy pit fruit flavors become firmer in the middle, with tangy acidity providing lift. A touch dry on the finish but provides excellent palate coverage and lingers with intense minerality. (Jul/Aug 2010)"
'Silver Medal,' Decanter: "Very fresh nose of citrus and stone fruit and some exotic spice. Elegant and attractive, light and fresh. Very pretty. (Oct 2010)"

96 points and 'Highly Recommended,' Wine Spectator: "[$89 list] A deftly balanced Chardonnay of tremendous depth without much weight, floating its pear, quince, floral and orange marmalade flavors through to the end. It's the finish that makes this special, balancing all the elements effortlessly and lingering on and on. Drink now through 2025. 500 cases imported. (5/31/12)"
93+ points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Art Series Chardonnay has a wonderfully fragrant nose of honeysuckle, tropical fruits and nectarines over nuances of pink grapefruit and allspice. Full-bodied and richly fruited in the mouth, it is surprisingly harmonious at this youthful stage with a backbone of medium to high acid balancing the ripe, expressive fruit. The finish is long with plenty of tropical fruit layers. Delicious now, it should cellar to 2020+. (Aug 2012)"
93 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Light yellow. Pungent aromas of tangerine, peach and white flowers, complicated by a tropical fruit nuance. Juicy, spicy and intense, with tangy acidity lifting flavors of citrus and orchard fruits, ginger and anise. Becomes creamier and spicier with air and finishes on a subtle pineapple note, with impressive clarity and length. The spicy, intensely mineral 2002 version of this wine is drinking very nicely right now, by the way, but still has years of life ahead of it. (Jul 2012)"
Producer notes: "A vibrant and expressive nose, characterised by a classical fruit profile of Nashi pear, lime curd, ripe white peach and quince. Nuances of flint and sweet cinnamon feature in the background. Subtle layers of complexity are conveyed in the form of lifted floral notes of pear blossom and jasmine, combining with savoury toasted sesame and cashew. On the palate, a gentle and restrained entry shows great poise. Purity and clarity of fruit is underpinned with lively pear, grapefruit and lime flesh. The mid-palate is textural with slight creaminess and generous with concentrated fruit. The degree of width through to the back palate is balanced with a fine line of natural acidity formulating enviable length."

90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "[$22 list] Pale yellow. Vibrant aromas of lemon zest, pink grapefruit and wet stone. Very dry and precise, offering tangy citrus fruit flavors and a deeper note of pear skin on the back half. Gains flesh with air while retaining vibrancy; I'll bet this will age nicely. (Jul/Aug 2010)"
90 points Jeremy Oliver (The Australian Wine Annual): "Spotless, very intense and uncomplicated, with ripe, punchy aromas of lime juice, lemon pith and white flowers. It's long and chalky, with a tangy expression of persistent and mouth-filling citrusy flavour, finishing with length, focus and a note of austerity. (2011)"
89 points Wine Advocate: "[$22 list] The tasting line-up began with the 2009 Art Series Riesling, revealing pronounced aromas of lime leaves, yuzu zest, passion fruit and warm grapefruit. Crisp, light to medium bodied, fully dry and elegant, it gives a long steely finish. Drink it now to 2016. (Oct 2010)" - Lisa Perrotti-Brown
88 points Wine Spectator: "[$22 list] Light and tangy, with a licorice edge to the lime and green melon flavors. Finishes with some pizzazz. Drink now through 2020. 600 cases imported. (6/15/10)"
Producer notes: "A wine of brilliant clarity, which has a very pale straw colour with lime green, tinges. The nose shows lifted aromas of citrus blossom, musk, green apple, lime and quince mixed with a delicious mineral edge, which are indicators of an excellent wine. A wine of exceptional length, the palate displays classic Rieslings flavours of lime and grapefruit and green apple. This is a wine with great intensity and depth of flavour. The palate finishes with clean crisp succulent acidity. The 2009 wine we believe compares very well with our renowned 2002 vintage."

Smooth, expansive dark berry preserve and cherry-cola flavors are brightened by tangy acidity and show impressive depth. Turns sweeter on the finish, with the cherry and vanilla notes lingering. 91 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(a blend of shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and merlot; 15.5% alcohol): Bright purple. Fresh blackberry and blackcurrant aromas are expansive and strikingly energetic. A deeply concentrated blend, offering sweet, sappy black and blue fruit flavors and refreshing spicy snap. The spiciness builds with air and carries through the persistent, floral-accented finish, which features silky tannins. (Sep/Oct 2011)"
90 points Wine Advocate: "A blend of 73% Shiraz, 15% Merlot and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, Tait’s 2009 The Ball Buster provides a deep garnet color and aromas of blackberry preserves, prunes, mulberries and dried leaves with nuances of Indian spices and dusty earth. Full bodied and rich in the mouth, it has a high level of acid providing freshness to the generous fruit and a medium-firm level of grainy tannins, finish long with lingering notes of anise. Drinking now, it should remain good to 2015+. (Dec 2010)" - Lisa Perrotti-Brown

Producer notes: "51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 22% Petit Verdot. In this classic blend the Cabernet provides length and structure, the Merlot adds softness and the Petit Verdot gives midpalate weight. This elegant wine is deep ruby colour, with fresh purple tints. The long, fruit driven palate and ripe tannins make this an ideal wine for drinking now or for aging for over 5 years."
