94 points Wine Spectator: "A dark, brooding and dense wine, delivering dried cherry, carpaccio and spice flavors, which linger on the broad finish. Has layers and layers of depth, all balled up and waiting to open with time. Best from 2014 through 2020. 1,200 cases made. (4/30/12)"
94 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(sourced from vines that are reportedly 50 to 130 years old; 100% new oak, 95% of it French): Dark purple. Flamboyant aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry, incense, vanilla and Indian spices. Concentrated, penetrating and densely packed, with strikingly concentrated dark fruit flavors that show liqueur-like intensity. Finishes very long, with firm but harmonious tannins and superb persistence. (Jul/Aug 2012)"
92 points James Suckling: "Hung meat, iodine and spice on the nose. Focused in the mouth with judicious use of oak. A compact wine of real force, yet never falls to the wayside of excess, despite its obvious power. Don't know how much I could drink, but the wine is balanced. Drink now and over the next five years. (11/22/11)"
Producer notes: "Dark purple with youthful hues on release, the nose is a compelling mix of dark stone fruits, coffee and blackberries. The 2010 is supremely focused yet rich and rewarding on the palate. The flavours are intense yet restrained, showing brooding dark fruit characters, with cracked pepper hints, some minerality and great complexity. The astounding purity of expression and multilayered structure will allow this wine to mature with elegance for decades to come. Age of vines: 50-130 years old. Cellaring potential: 18+ years. Alcohol: 15.1%."

Taut and juicy, showing citrus fruits, a hint of green apple and strong minerality. Picks up deeper melon and pear character with air and finishes dry and persistent. I like this wine's linear character. (Jul/Aug 2011)"
90 points and 'Best Buy,' Wine & Spirits: "[$20 list] Deceptively simple in its clean, spicy line of flavor, this young semillon buzzes with beeswax, orange, lemon, grapefruit and litchi. It's bright, airy and refined, a white that will respond generously to bottle age. (Oct 2011)"
Producer notes: "As always, a beautiful colour with luminous greens. Distinctive Hunter lemongrass/straw aromas as a young wine. Sweet fruit flavours initially on the palate indicating perfect ripeness at harvest and in fact a bit riper than usual. Excellent acid structure, long flavours of lime and apple blossom. Perfect in its youth and a wine that will bottle age gracefully."

90 points Wine Advocate: "[$20 list] Medium-deep garnet colored, the 2009 The Custodian Grenache offers a very spicy nose over notes of prunes, raspberry preserves and a whiff of sultanas. Medium to full-bodied, it offers plenty of spicy, warm berry flavors, velvety tannins and balancing acidity, finishing long. Drink it now to 2016+. (Dec 2011)" -Lisa Perrotti-Brown
90 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Deep, bright ruby. Aromas of raspberry liqueur, bitter chocolate and licorice. Sweet and plush but juicy, with supple texture to its flavors of cherry, red berries and candied rose. Creamy and open-knit, with very good immediate appeal. The sweet finish displays a lingering raspberry note. (Jul/Aug 2011)"

86 points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2010 The Stump Jump Shiraz is scented of ripe plums, blackberries and baking spices plus a touch of anise. Medium-bodied with lively acid, chewy tannins, and a medium-long finish, it can be drunk now to 2014. (Dec 2011)"
Producer notes: "The name ‘Stump Jump’ pays homage to a significant South Australian invention -- the Stump Jump plough. As well as clearing the land around McLaren Vale, it was adopted worldwide in the late 19th century because of its ability to ride over stumps and gnarled roots, saving valuable time andnergy. Tasting notes: The nose is chock-full of fresh blackberries, cherries and dark chocolate sprinkled with spices. The palate is fresh and juicy, ripe red fruits mix with plums, blackcurrant, flowers and a twist of black pepper. The tannins are fine with d’Arenberg’s trademark earthiness helping keep this easy going wine in check. Alcohol: 14.5%."

88 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(42% grenache, 33% shiraz and 25% mourvedre): Deep ruby. Powerful, youthfully brooding aromas of cherry, licorice, dark chocolate and pungent herbs. Smells and tastes quite serious for an entry-level wine, offering deep dark fruit and bitter chocolate flavors that pick up sweetness with air. Supple tannins build on the nicely persistent, chewy finish. Owner and winemaker Chester Osbourne says that a lot of components that just missed the cut for d'Arenberg's flagship bottlings typically go into this wine, which gives it a less easygoing personality than most Aussie reds at this price point. (Jul/Aug 2011)"

90 points Wine Spectator: "Very pretty, with floral, passion fruit and pineapple aromas and flavors up front. Settles into an apricot silkiness on the finish. Drink now. Smart Buys. (7/31/10)"
90 points Wine & Spirits: "2009 McLaren Vale Adelaide Hills The Hermit Crab Viognier-Marsanne Chester Osborn named this wine after the hermit who gave his name to Hermitage and the hermit crabs that live on the beach in McLaren Vale. Tasted blind, it started a discussion about crab-meat soup dumplings at Grand Szechuan in New York, and lobster rolls in Maine. So there is something to the name-a friendly, party-style white that will get any hermit out of his shell-especially if there's crab to match the wine's creamy, lush, peachy flavors. (Oct 2010)"
89 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "(a 72/28 blend) Light gold. Really showing its viognier today, with scents of white peach, pear, honey and baking spices. Juicy pit fruit flavors become firmer in the middle, with tangy acidity providing lift. A touch dry on the finish but provides excellent palate coverage and lingers with intense minerality. Medium to full-bodied, it is soft and supple in the mouth with wonderfully pure blackberry and spice flavors supported by crisp acidity and a medium level of velvety tannins. It finishes with a good length. Drink it now to 2017+. (Apr 2013)"
Producer notes: "76% Shiraz, 13% Grenache, 6% Viognier and 5% Mourvèdre grapes grown in the Barossa (Barossa and Eden Valley). Vibrant red with violet hues. 96 points and 'Highly Recommended,' Wine Spectator: "[$89 list] A deftly balanced Chardonnay of tremendous depth without much weight, floating its pear, quince, floral and orange marmalade flavors through to the end. It's the finish that makes this special, balancing all the elements effortlessly and lingering on and on. Drink now through 2025. 500 cases imported. (5/31/12)"
93+ points Lisa Perrotti-Brown (Wine Advocate): "The 2009 Art Series Chardonnay has a wonderfully fragrant nose of honeysuckle, tropical fruits and nectarines over nuances of pink grapefruit and allspice. Full-bodied and richly fruited in the mouth, it is surprisingly harmonious at this youthful stage with a backbone of medium to high acid balancing the ripe, expressive fruit. The finish is long with plenty of tropical fruit layers. Delicious now, it should cellar to 2020+. (Aug 2012)"
93 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): "Light yellow. Pungent aromas of tangerine, peach and white flowers, complicated by a tropical fruit nuance. Juicy, spicy and intense, with tangy acidity lifting flavors of citrus and orchard fruits, ginger and anise. Becomes creamier and spicier with air and finishes on a subtle pineapple note, with impressive clarity and length. The spicy, intensely mineral 2002 version of this wine is drinking very nicely right now, by the way, but still has years of life ahead of it. (Jul 2012)"
Producer notes: "A vibrant and expressive nose, characterised by a classical fruit profile of Nashi pear, lime curd, ripe white peach and quince. Nuances of flint and sweet cinnamon feature in the background. Subtle layers of complexity are conveyed in the form of lifted floral notes of pear blossom and jasmine, combining with savoury toasted sesame and cashew. On the palate, a gentle and restrained entry shows great poise. Purity and clarity of fruit is underpinned with lively pear, grapefruit and lime flesh. The mid-palate is textural with slight creaminess and generous with concentrated fruit. The degree of width through to the back palate is balanced with a fine line of natural acidity formulating enviable length."

A wine of exceptional length, the palate displays classic Rieslings flavours of lime and grapefruit and green apple. This is a wine with great intensity and depth of flavour. It’s reasonably full bodied, but its best attribute may be its thick, rich texture, which makes it a perfect budget-conscious choice to serve alongside your favorite steak. (Nov 2009)"
89 points Wine & Spirits: "Fresh blueberry flavors run through this blend of cabernet sauvignon (55 percent) and merlot. It's clean and rich, with savory black tannins that carry the scent of pencil lead. Impressively complex for the price, this will complement braised beef. (Feb 2010)"
